Been in the punk scene since I was 16 I’m 42 now, played in a few bands, releases a few albums, got to know some awesome people. It’s been almost 10 years since this Erin chick came into the scene maybe even longer and her drama continues…. I’m used to the scene really chewing people like this up and spitting them out, but she just keeps going.

I’ve been in the cleveland punk scene for over 20 years. The scene there was violent and I’ve been hit with beer cans, bottles,hit by crowd killing, stuck in middle of fights, got wind knock out of me in pit, but it was part being punk scene. I will say I found a new band they I like out of this
Erin isn't just trying to ruin their band but the scene as a whole.
She definitely seems interested in ruining the band, which is odd bc they had nothing to do with it...
You obviously know what punks have gone through for 40 plus years with getting shut down and policed when trying to get a show together. What erin is doing is drawing negative and unneeded attention that those not familiar will want to use this as a reason to keep punk out of the clubs and elsewhere. She is doing more damage. For someone who apparently cares as much as she says that she cares about the scene, her attempt is damaging. She is involving more people than need to be involved

I have known quite a few of Erin’s throughout my life and throughout my husbands time as a bassist in a punk band, let’s just say they didn’t last long in the “scene” . They built the reputation of being liars, groupies , and attention seekers and the punk culture doesn’t appreciate them!

Five minutes into the video, it's been made abundantly clear that the dude's girlfriend initiated the fight. She was the catalyst that started it all.
That's never been up for debate as far as I know. But it seems like Erin may have hit her first (which I would have done in her position, too). The real issue I personally have is that Erin's BF almost guaranteed hit the other girl. But yeah, it's a big dramatic mess

Yeah, I mean, let's he honest, the truth likely lies somewhere in the middle, but I tend to feel like it leans in the direction of what he's saying. Too many people (including Erin) corroborate his story.

I can't say I'm shocked to hear about Erin being banned from several events. I never personally cared about her just doing what she does. But I grew very skeptical of her as soon as I watched one of her travel videos where she went somewhere in Latin America to have a "demon removed from her body" because she refused to get pharmaceutical treatment.
Lol, wow. She's interesting, to say the least 🤦 but yeah, I ain't trying to jjat hear half the story, that males no sense to me.
I became aware of Micklow a few years back and immediately took a dislike to her.
I don't mind her going around interviewing bands and all that stuff, it is her whole approach to Punk that is the problem.
There is an English band called Citizen Keyne who do a track called "Punk Not Fashion" that rails against characters like Micklow who turn up to Punk gigs, festivals etc who they refer to as "Glamour Punks"!
I have actually put comments on her site a few years ago calling her a walking cliche.
She basically comes across a fake punk who is using the scene to feather her own nest and clear agenda.

(She's accused Shawn of banning her due to him being her ex), hence why I'm starting to think she's the trouble maker and a gas lighter.

I've talked to a few more people that were there and it seems like he's telling mostly what happened. I do think his gal should have never approached Erin, though.
Idk, he was truthful about how we handle fights in the scene. I have been part of it for 25plus years and typically a fight will happen and we squash it after and have a drink. Friendships typically form after.
I don't think he's being honest at all. Erin has made herself a target & they decided to take their shot.

It was a sticker from the band DOGFACE BASTARDS and it had a bunch of people they think are posers on it I guess, with Erin's face on it really big and in the center, and it says "Culture Not Costume" on it.

This sounds like the inverse of bullying. Where she goes on her platform crying and making multiple videos of this fight for her larger folllowing, knowing damn well they are going to cyber bully these guys and possibly hurt them.

She was bullied to a degree, but she also hit first (as far as I can tell). But I mean, why would you do that to a person with a platform as big as hers and expect her to NOT use it? I might if I were in LA I guess, but I'm too old to let someone I don't like control my day to that degree.

Erin isn't innocent herself. She isn't banned from most venues just because people see her as a poser. She is a repeat offender of bullying young girls under 18 and talks shit on girls who are not as well off financially as her. She let her fame get to her head. Multiple friends of mine and friends of friends have all had run ins with Erin where Erin tries to be punker than though. Her online persona is a front, the girl is toxic

Watching this video and her video(Erin Micklow) I think I regressed 40 years...lol...this type of stuff went on back then. Fortunately I'm old and this to me is entertainment. That which happened before... Will happen again. I have to say I do follow her on you tube only. Guilty as charged I think she's... Attractive... Doesn't mean your head is so big that it can barely fit through the door. For my older punks... Suburbia is floating through my brain. I wish I could share stories (for as much as I can remember) about the mid Atlantic scene during the 80s. And I've got plenty of people who will tell you the same..40 years later.

The Promoter has said she's not welcomed at shows they put on bc of the trouble she causes. She even talks about it in our interview, "had I known it was one of those shows, I wouldn't have gone".... she's effectively banned.
@thepunkrockreview she also did a whole video of why she believes she's banned from punk rock bowling (being Shawn's ex), when in actuality it's because she was filming in secure areas, she went on about how Shawn didn't give her a chance to defend herself against the filming allegations umm dude is busy running a festival probably why didn't have the time. Oh and Shawn's exs came out to defend him on what she said.

Man you need to be careful with being online with that cast and saying things. Cop callers will have ammo in the real court even if you are obviously in the right in the court of public opinion. I HATE people who involve the "authorities" in crap like this that they should be able to handle on their own, especially after they started it. But to both of you, channel and band, careers have been started with less. Im on probation right now and lost my career because of over zealous police and false assault allegations.

It absolutely sucks not being able to work to support yourself or continue making music while healing and as an alumni I know how strict Paul Mitchell can be, I hope they’re understanding and there’s no repercussions from this BS. 🙄

Look I know this chick is very polarizing and sure some of the stuff is funny and very cringe but why are we banning people from punk rock shows?? I thought our scene let everyone in? Unless you come with hatred and bigotry. As cringe as this girl is I don’t see her being a nazi or anti gay or anything. Maybe just a rich girl who likes the music idk. Probably an unpopular opinion and I’m sure there’s more to it then what I know.

Also, yes, the bullying is dumb, but if someone is problematic, then I understand banning them. As far as I understand it, she is problematic. But I don't know her yet, so j can't speak on that. It may just stem from jealousy, that wouldn't surprise me at all
She is famous and also brings bad energy to shows. She comes in as press but acts as though she owns the scene itself and can do anything and go anywhere she wants. She has been banned by the venue owners for her behavior.

@@jj72610Miclow's story has changed multiple times, some stuff she said didn't match up to previous things she had said, she reposted her boyfriends accounts of that night that are totally different to Erin's. Her boyfriend said there were multiple men in the bathroom before he entered and hit that other girl. Erin said it was one on one and that the girl was so drunk that she could hardly stand up yet somehow she wasn't to drunk to "beat the crap out of Erin". The only story that hasn't changed has been Jesse and his girl.
