RUBY SNAPPER TANGLES | Commercial Wetline Fishing Trip 6.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 жов 2024
- With a 12 hour weather window we head out to get what we can. But with wind against current the boat was swining on anchor causing some average tangles. But the Ruby Snapper were fairly hungry so still managed to get enough onboard before they shutdown and the sharks moved in at sunset.
Wetline commercial fishing as part of the Gascoyne Demersal Scalefish managed fishery. For Goldband Snapper, Ruby Snapper, Pink Snapper and other demersal species.
FISH RESPONSIBLY
The following is part of a strictly managed sustainable commercial fishery. We follow and support all fisheries regulations. As well as advocating for good sustainable fishing practices. How you go about it can have just as much impact as what you take home.
SUPPORT LOCAL SEAFOOD
We are aware that not all fisheries are sustainably managed, but ours is. So support local seafood that not only helps the local economy and jobs. It also has an important role in a balanced environmentally responsible, and sustainable future of climate and food security. We catch fish so it is available to those who can not.

How many hooks on a line (ballpark)
We Run 20 most of the time, found that's about the max on the hand winches. The guys that run hydraulics run 30.
Hello.
Greetings from Curaçao.
You know as nust how to catch those.. keep it a sthat.
Did you use only tuna as bait ?
Do you fish those all around 130 meters deep ?
Is your depth sounder a futuro 205 and what watt power di the sounder have ? 7:22
How do you not get your fish sharked on the way up? Also, if it is possible, how much do you roughly make during these trips from all the fish you catch? Cheers!
Sometimes they do, but we learnt lots of ways to avoid and prevent it. Will try to include some of these strategies in videos. Money wise, not really keen to put numbers on it. To be honest after all expenses, it is a job you do for the love not the money. Would hate to work out an hourly rate for it. A large chunk goes to leasing quota and licence, and I could easily pour every cent back into the boat.
Suprised on not seeing any larger rubys most seem to be that same size ?
Why do some fish have something coming out of their mouth? Is it from being reeled in from deep water?
Yeh ist actually their stomach. The air in it expands as they are pulled up and forces it out their mouth.
What’s your mainline? Are they knots between the clips?
Just curious as to why you guys don’t bleed your fish?
Definetly our number 1 question, so do plan to do a video explaining this and comparing bled and spiked fish. For most demersal species bleeding is not required to maintain best quality. The spiking causes all the blood to be drawn from flesh into spine and organs, while preventing build up of any acids in flesh. Some fish such as pelagics are best bled, but with these fish it has no real effect.
What size circle hooks do you use cobba
hey man, what reel is that? so unique, has a lock and everything
