Imagine being a German band singing in German in a sold out Madison Square Garden and start your concert with a song that makes the crowd scream your name and where you sing lines like, "Who waits with prudence, Will be rewarded in dear time, Well, the wait has ended, Lend your ear to a legend". Badass!
Also, Till Lindemann, one of the few alpha-males on this planet that could stand in front of a huge crowd, in a red leather apron, wearing a hair-net and a red feather boa, yet still no-one would dare doubt his masculinity.

Rammstein is legendary.They are more than just another rock band. Till Lindemann isn't just another singer, he's an artist, a poet, a lyrical genius. Christian "Flake" Lorenz said:
"Till radiates complete authority in my eyes,When he sings or says something, you realize that he also means it. That makes the whole song a lot more precious. Especially since there are singers who say or sing just about anything because it sounds good. With Till, you know that he means it.”
I meet till at 2013 germany leipzig at some reguler restourant, he is a super super humble guy. He surprised ı knew him his street clothes but welcome me nicely.
I've seen these guys live 5 times. They are so extra, and it's amazing.

I'm 40 and I've been a fan from 15yrs old. Ive heard every song 100s times over and been lucky to see them 3 times in concert in the uk. Nothing beats a Rammstein gig.

I saw Rammstein in concert and it was the most amazing concert ever. Too bad this clip didn't show the giant angel wings and fire-breathing.

Rammstein‘s music videos are also well worth checking out, each video is completely unique ranging from playful to powerful but all are meaningful and a work of art!
Saw them live a few months ago at MetLife Stadium and it was the wildest thing I've ever seen in my life. Words can't describe it.
I was at this one! MSG 2010. Fun fact, for this tour Till had his cheek pierced to route that light setup so the wires wouldn't affect his singing.

Fun fact about the light in Till's mouth. He wanted it to look as authentic as possible, so (against advisement) he had his cheek pierced to run the wire for the light through. Halfway through that tour, his cheek became infected, and he had to start running the wire through the front of his mouth.

Rammlied is basically a rallying call to the fans - we're back so listen up! This was the concert opener and it began with Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe, the guitarists smashing through a wall and Till Lindemann cutting through a steel section to emerge in stage. A reference to the fall of the Berlin Wall, the band members are all from what was East Germany. Till did have a hole pierced through his cheek at one point for the light to be fed through but the hole became infected hence the site in this and other performances. It's a complete experience with this band, you get more than the value of your ticket with them.

I agree, the bass riff during the verses is insane! As is the main riff by Richard and Paul - and the half tone change at the end is really effective! That was a proper way to warm up the audience 😎
Generally, Madison Square Garden event is the best concert ever by Rammstein - and we're so happy that it was professionally shot, so we can relive it again and again... Many fantastic songs were played there...
I have two recommendations: first - since you have seen the opening, just see the great finale! See the "Pussy" from Madison Square Garden - and I strongly recommend to get it from Buckstabu channel, with English lyrics. You'll love it!
Another one is "Wiener Blut" live - either from Madison Square Garden or from Wacken Festival (to me, the Wacken version is a little bit better, even though MSG is more spectacular). It is an extraordinary song, featuring many things that you don't usually get from Rammstein.

Originally Till (the singer) had a hole pierced in the side of his cheek to enable him to better be able to fit the light in his mouth while singing by having it be inserted through the piercing rather than into his mouth hole.

Hey, if you go on with Rammstein i higly recommend to watch out for video with english translation. Nearly every song has a deeper meaning. What most non german speaking people miss is the awesome poetry of them. Although some beauty is lost with the translation. But many songs grow immense because of the lyrics. Till Lindemann the singer is an extraordinary Poet and Story Teller. As an example i'd suggest "Wiener Blut". Very dark but inspired by a true story. Try the videos of educadet marine. He does a lot of work to do good translation in the video.

In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".)

Ya, but for sure the piano version... that is an experience on its own.
As a non native yet very much fluent German speaker I thought to give a translation of the lyrics to this song. Translating the nuances and often double or tripple meanings in the lyrics is very challenging since Mr. Lindemann is a poet, songwriter and artist in a language that is brimming with words sounding alike that are rhimed to converge, confuse and / or redirect meaning. Also, recurring themes are German history, social commentary on historical and current events as wel as a search for meaning. Most songs are BIG beyond their direct lyrics. Ok so that was a big time cop out to say....My German is very good, you all deserve a translation right here but hey, i might miss something. Think or sing your RAMMSTEIN's when appropriate.
