Time to look for a clean 3 door late model car to either yield all the repair sections or swap into the other shell.

You could get a normal 205 as a donor car, there are many in france and germany for less than 1k euros in good condition to rebuild the floor and all rotten parts

Unfortunately the normal shell isn't strong enough for a big engine, a mate had a seriously tuned 1.9 that he put in a good 1.6 gti shell and it started to crack in places

Can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen a 205 that bad! And I've seen a few lol.
Yes all old cars rust but 205's tend to be quite resilient hence why there's actually quite a few left on the road. Most problems I've seen over the years is were they stress crack on the seems and not repaired soon enough

What a shame, I had a similar conundrum with my clio Williams, after 3k spent on one corner the rot un covered on the other the side and at the front was a horrendous. I persevered and had the rest of the rot sorted. 8k in and it’s been in storage for 5 years waiting for me to bring it home

Normal places for rust and normal DIY wiring by the looks of it, I Bet the engine was tilted as well as most where to keep the cost down to save on exhaust mods, done much worse (And still are) than that but as said time as you need a good base model shell to cut all the panels from which takes 3 times as long.

Never seen a 205 go so bad. Normally they should actually be quite good on rust.
Seen 205's been stood in a field for over a decade, that were better than this one.

It's such a shame to loose another old classic but it would cost thousands to restore and as it's a customer car it's not worth it, if you were doing it for yourself then it's doable but even then I think you would need a donor shell if the parts are not available.
