Survival mode (autopilot) has its purposes! Get you through the hardest times. The most important thing is you take time once you are settled to process and work through things, reset yourself by focusing on grounding yourself (meditating, journaling etc can help).
There is something about your voice that is soooo soothing to me.
She’s developed this massively irritating inflection at the end of sentences like the American UA-camrs, where everything seems like a question with the higher pitch at the end 😒
**just to clarify, I still watch her but not as much as I used to. I don’t for a second think she knowingly acquired the inflection, it just sadly is what happened. She also says things like “take out” instead of take away. Hazard of the job I guess.

Moving is a nightmare. Bummer that you've had to move so many times since going to London. Hope that the next place is longer lasting - or at least you get to call the shots for when you move again.
I've moved in the last 18 months, and it's something that I'd be quite happy never to do again! A friend of mine gave me some good advice about getting into the new place. Basically, make sure your bed is available and everything else can pretty-much wait. Best of luck with it all
Because of work/uni I moved every 6 months to 10 months from 2016 to 2023 and honestly, I don’t even know how I did it cause it takes so much out of you! Having flashbacks whilst watching the video 😂 now I’m like, I’ll move once when (hopefully one day if) I buy a home and that’s it, me done for life haha 😂

if it makes you feel better, i also packed up and moved from my apartment this week! in the span of 3 days I graduated college, packed all my things, and drove 15+ hours home haha

If you're getting building work done and have to move out temporarily, does that mean you'll be compensated? Also is it a lot harder to find a place when you can't sign a year long lease?

Practice, it’ll get easier over time. Small phrases out and about to,people will gradually become easier

It's ridiculous that someone expected you to move out temporarily unless you decided to do so due to loud noises during the renovation. They have absolutely no right to do so. They could serve you with Section 21 eviction notice but it would take them at least 6 months to go through all the stages to make eviction at all legal. I just don't understand how all of this had happen and it's so sad that people do not know their rights and many end up homeless because of illegal actions of their landlords.

A bit random maybe, but is anyone here that did master degree in biology/chemistry and works and lives in Scotland? (and in the best case is not origanily from UK) I was just wondering how hard it is to find a job and how the life quality is in Scotland, I am aware that it varies from city to city but I am just trying to get my head around if it would be worth moving. (I love Scotland but there is a lot with moving so far away).

Scotland has a variety of living situations depending on location. Particularly cities vs country. There are some very remote areas and transport, logistics, support services etc in remote areas can be tough. It’s not densely populated. Some places are also very dark and wet compared to other parts of the world and it can be a bit of a shock. So not all Scotland is the same, take that into account when making your decision. Also, it’s stunningly beautiful.
