I found myself liking NATO bands a lot more than I thought. comfort and color variety cant beat them....

Jaysandkays are totally awesome! I ordered bull bars from them a few days ago. My order came in on 01/28/21 but what was in the package was convertible adapters. I contacted them with a picture and stated we had a little mixup. Jay responded super fast and was very nice and apologize for the mixup. To my surprise my bull bars came in the mail on 02/01/21!! I contacted them back and asked if they would like me to return the incorrect item, and they stated no. Amazing company and I will be a customer for life!
Bullbars for G-shock watches is like using a condom to avoid pregnancy when you sterile.

That's a pretty slick upgrade. I've never been a fan of the plastic band, and this would make me consider wearing a G-Shock.

I have the same problem... So yes I also got a "Nato" style, it's more like a Zulu strap from JaysandKays for my G-Shock. Love it.

I can as well attest to the discomfort of the g shock resin strap. It’s prone to reacting to body sweat in a way that traps dead skin and rubs against the wrist, also collecting more dust and debris than some of its cloth strapped counterparts. I had worn my g shock in the field countless times, in hot as well as cold environments.
My only other complaint with the g shock is its mass, especially in the more robust models. Its thickness makes it prone to snagging on pack straps, plate carriers and other web gear that is dawned on your person as you go to put it on. The solution to this problem is wearing the watch inboard with the time piece on the bottom of your wrist. However, wearing the watch inboard also makes it more prone to getting caught on crew served weapons or even machinery and tools you may be operating.

I live in Thailand and the resin straps get uncomfortably hot and sweaty in the tropical heat. I got some adapters and nato straps from Vario in Singapore. My DW5600’s are WAY more comfortable with the natos now :)

Both my 5610 and 9400 have the bullbars from Jay&Kays and I have a set of adaptors for the 5610 but I like the original band and change it back and forth...

Just found out about G-Shock adapters and straps, definitely sounds like it is worth the investment! I have a ga700 it's kind of large but I'll definitely be buying different straps and a bull bar for it. Yours looks pretty damn rugged I like it!!

I adore field watches. I'm in the process of pulling the trigger on a Breitling Colt Skyracer, which is an absolute gem of a watch that can be had at a ridiculously low price because it's being discontinued. I have been using a dive watch for the last few years working in the bush, which I find works better than my Suunto Core military (G-Shock alternative) because of legibility. From a wrist watch all I need a quickly legible time display, a date and a timer (all of which an easily be done with a diver). Any other function is accomplished with other devices, especially if I'm in for more than a month. My main complaint about most divers and watches in general is weight, which the Skyracer addresses nicely. It literally disappears on the wrist until you look at it, which is helpful when you're wearing it for weeks while living outside.

I have my g shock king also on the jaysandkays bull bars. It’s definitely a beast. I am expecting a grey wolf GG1000 this week super pumped up these watches are tanks. No wonder military loves them. Keep up the cool vids man and remember let the haters hate its better to be talked about than not.

so i just recived 2 nato bands in the mail today. a dark earth and a green band.. i put the dark earth on my timex scout. at first i didnt like it and started to regret buyin them...after about 10 minutes of wearing it i began to like it. ive had the nato band on now for 30 minutes and it has become my favorite watch band !!!
This week I bought a DW5600BBN-1ER - the light on black background. version. Instead of a resin strap, it came already with strap converter on it, and a one piece black canvas strap. Personally I found the strap too stiff - so I've replaced it with a black leather NATO strap
Try taking links out of a Speidel Twistoflex! My favorite metal watchband, it dates from the 60's, I just got one for my Bambino and I love it dearly, like going back in time.
just ordered nylon straps for all 4 of my casios , including 2 adapters from 16-22mm and 18-22mm. Cant wait to see how it works out, i hope the adapters work!

I purchased the J&K's adapters for my G-Shock DW-5600 because the holes in the resin strap were either just a bit loose for just a bit tight. The option to throw on a one piece Zulu strap so I could adjust the tightness based on activity, sweat, etc. was the draw for me. However, the thing that I did not like about the adapters is they are a one-size-fits-all. Meaning, I like the taper on the bracelet but the adapters don't follow the taper of the watch and look kind of big and clunky. I also didn't like that the only option I have is to use a 24mm strap. Also, as another commenter said the whole watch slides/rotates around your wrist so it doesn't hold it firm. I ended up not using it as it didn't give me the benefit I was looking for. Kind of bummed out because I like the option and would have probably paid a bit more for something that is custom to that style watch. Why doesn't Casio give us strap options?!

i got JaysAndKays nato strap adapters for my rangeman (GW9400) because i'm huge fan of nato strap. it's perfect. i'm wearing my rangeman only with nato strap.
Got my first G-shock recently - a GMW-B5000-1 (the metal square with negative display and resin band), and the first thing I did was put the JaysandKays adapters on it and throw it on a Barton Jetson. I never could get into G-shocks (or Ironman watches etc) because of the resin straps, but with a comfortable seat belt NATO it's quickly becoming my daily wear watch for when I'm out and about. Just fair warning - the "spring bars" on these metal squares are so much more of a PITA to remove than the one you show here.

I can't say enough good things about Jays&Kays. If you like a 20 or 22mm strap, use their metal adapters. They cost a little more but are 100% worth it.
I don’t have sensitive wrists but i do just like NATO WAY better than a ruder/silicon/plastic straps. Great video, keep up the good work

Having the very same issue with rubber and plastick straps. that is how i got my DW-9050 with factory adapter and 1 piece weaved strap

I love using NATO straps especially for G-Shocks because they're often faced with harsh environments like cold and the case back against your skin in the winter just feels horrible

G Shocks that have screw-on straps are a lot easier to change than models with spring bars. Nice video. Oh, BTW....small screws have a tendency to get lost easily. Next time, consider a small magnetic parts dish or even just a paper cup to hold the removed screws.

Am a big fan of NATO's but by taking the strap off of the watch aren't you compromising the shock resistance of the watch. I would like to fit a NATO to mt Timex Ironman Triathlon but can't find a suitable adapter. Any suggestions?

Good move on the JaysandKays. I got the same problem with plastic straps. Put the adaptors and a NATO on my Casio GPR B1000 last years. Much better. Now to get picky. The single strap you put on is generally called a Zulu. Double strap is a NATO. I tried a Zulu on the GPR but the watch is so heavy that when putting it on or taking it off it wanted to slide off the strap. Switched to a NATO and solved that problem. Ditch the Bull Bars. Yes they look nice and offer a bit more protection but they like to snag on stuff. Very annoying jerking your wrist.
