Glad I found this. I haven't upgraded my memory card since almost maybe 4 years ago? I'm going from a 32 -64. About to start and get me some sweet tea, lol. Thanks.
Rarely do you find a game related video on UA-cam that does what it says, and in such a clear, easily understood manner, with a touch of humor to boot. Excellent work!
Currently transferring 28GB of data onto my PC to restore onto a 64GB card.. it's taking forever!! I think I've had about 8 cuppa teas since I started lol
If you have two cards that you want to restore to a single card: The backup/restore option makes a snapshot image of a single memory card. You cannot restore more than one card because the second restore action will overwrite the first. I never use that feature because it is so inflexible. Instead use the Vita>PC and PC>Vita copy options. Copy everything over to Content Manager from one card, then copy everything else over from the other card.. Then you can select it all and copy all back onto a single card using the PC>Vita copy option. -MetalZoic
dont really get it. so basically if i have a 8 gb and a 64 gb. and im using the 8gb in the moment. i just copy all my data to the pc? and than i dont need to copy my 64gb to my vita because i havnt used it right? Can you explain a bit further thank you! Quite confused
Thanks so mutch! I'm about to be the proud owner of a Vita and I wanted to know if I could transfer data. Now that I know it's possible. It's a load of stress off my back. Plus the video was also amusing as well as being helpful. Thanks again for the info.
Thanks for the tutorial bro, I'm upgrading to a 16 gig (14 gig) in a couple of days and now I know what I need to do. I'm finally going to be free from the 4 gig!
Depends on size of card and the amount of data. Going from a full 8gb card to a 16gb card did take some time although obviously it would vary. Cheers for watching and keep up with the good work on your channel ;)
Yes - or delete some data. You can always re-download any games etc from the PS Store at any time, so if you got bored with a game you could delete it but always have access to download again. Personally 8gb is the minimum size I would recommend.
Yes Angry Birds was available as a PS Mini for a while. It's now been pulled from the store (I'm guessing because of the Angry Birds trilogy announced for PS3). Who knows, they may be working on a Vita specific version?
i used your method and it works! i was curious since ps vita has no internal memory, so where did the backup saved at? did it saved on my pc and then move it to my psvita new card?
Thanks for this guide. I just bought a nice barely used vita from a good chap on ebay. But the memory cards I ordered got lost in the mail. Long story short, I have a used one coming in today, but a nice BRAND NEW one I want to use that comes in next week. But I can't wait to play any more. So gonna start playing with the used one today then transfer to a nice fresh brand new one next week. Thanks again!
Hi - Yes this is the correct way to make sure you keep all of your save data. You don't need to add a new account or anything. Just follow the steps and you'll be able to back up your data and transfer it to a bigger card without losing anything.
great video, question! I have a used 32gb coming today, if I do your process should I format the 32gb first? or when I do the restore will it be doing that automatically previous to transferring my data? thanks
Good video! May I ask what if you need to get a new PS Vita console, but still want all your data and downloaded games on there that you had on the previous console? Thanks!
Hey man, great vid, just wondering... 1) the clipping at 1:43, that was just you inputting your PSN details yeah? 2) After you boot up the 16gb card but before the restore, it still has all your icons etc. are they stored on the vitas internal memory or something? or can you explain this? 3) This backup covers entire games as well? There's no need to redownload anything?
Thank you! Awesome Video. So much better than the way that sony playstation was trying to have me do it (downloading and using a content manager assistant - don't ask, it was a confusing mess of a method). You definitely have my support!
Hi, it's not a dumb question. If you have games, movies, music etc on your Vita, it is stored on the memory card. So the bigger the memory card the more content you can store.
Hi. Yes - if you follow the video, all data including games saves are backed up onto the PC. When you swap cards and restore, all the games saves will be copied back onto the new card.
I'm planning to use a 64 GB on my Vita transferring from the 14 GB memory chip. This video will definitely help me out with the transfer. But I'm going to do it on a weekend. That way, just to make sure it doesn't take too long.
Thanks man :D i got the new Killzone mercenary game and its So huge, that it required a 4gb install and 1.2 gb update... so yeah you helped me back up my stuffs
So let me get this right all the information and saves on your old memory card are now on your new upgraded memory card ? And that leaves the old memory card blank ? Pls answer someone I'm confused . Very good video thanks
I watched this just to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Thanks. We have the same coffee cup, by the way.Have you ever been to NYC? Because I haven't. But at least I have the cup. Anyway, good explanation. I wonder if there is any significant difference in transfer speeds between a PC or and a PS3?
Hey there, I was thinking about a psvita mainly because playstation plus perks for the vita but I was wondering can I use two different memory cards to store games? I know that the memory card acts as your user on the psvita but lets say one my memory card is filled up can I switch to another vita memory card to save full download retail game or am I forced to keep the 1 vita memory card?
I have a dumb, semi-random question. when you download movies, games, music, etc, does all of them go to the memory card or is there some other card that holds all of them?
I get almost all my vita games digital so I upgraded from an 8 GB memory card to a 64 GB. I used my PC to backup like you suggested but while it was doing the restore process a message kept popping up stating "This application is missing." 🤔
Hey man, really hoping you see this, so I stopped using my vita maybe a year back, when I tried to get back on it had a password that I spent an hour trying to figure out before giving up. Looked at a video and it said if I took out the memory card before restarting it I could bypass the password, now it wants me to wipe my data before I can use it again. With that large amount of context out of the way, will doing this actually save the data from the memory card to my laptop so I can safely wipe it or should I just give up on the data and wipe it anyways?
thanks so much I was really hoping there was a way to do this I can't find to meany cartridge games anymore and I wanted to upgrade to a 64GB so I can download more games
Can you use the same memory card on another Vita? Like say I bought another Vita in addition to the one already have. Is it possible to use my memory card in the second Vita? If so how would I go about doing that?
I have a Vita and a PSTV and I want to switch their memory cards so I can play my PS1 and PSP games on my TV without redownloading or having to start all over. They both use the same PSN account so can I simply switch the cards after powering off both systems?
@@SpikeTheWolf trry searching for the cards on local shopping and see if anybody is selling them or you can search for store that buy old game consoles usulaly they have them.

Does this help in backing up your digitally downloaded games to the pc using the content manager? I am especially worried because the ps vita hardware production is now discontinued and sooner or later it will meet the same fate as psp (no downloading from ps store)..
right now I am on a 8 gb and I just brought the 64gb. I am currently on the third sly Cooper but I haven't completed yet, once I do the memory card thing will I be able to pick up from the games I left off on my old memory card and play it with the new one?
So do you have to still have the vita connected to the PC when you turn it off after you selected back up on that memory card first before you swap to the other memory card? And all the data is backed up the such as pictures, videos, game saves etc?
Glad I found this. I haven't upgraded my memory card since almost maybe 4 years ago? I'm going from a 32 -64. About to start and get me some sweet tea, lol. Thanks.

Great video. Loved the humor. Thanks for the information.
Thanks m8, had a couple of cold ones during the wait, more my cup of tea if u know what i mean.

I imagined it would be as simple as this but wanted confirmation just incase. Thankyou very much! Highly appreciated and the humour was on point.
Will it also work with backed-up home-brewed cards?
Thanks so mutch!

Well I guess it isn't really that complicated, but it takes forever. Why does everything they make have to be proprietary...
To make maximum wonga.
Hacks and regular microsd adapters exist... They cost about one twelfth of the price per gig and go up to 256...

@iArcheRz If your worried then go to a place that could either tighten them or get them replaced because worn or broken thumb sticks are annoying
