    can you do a video on shipping, and what you do on the website. when i print the label for a bundled purchase with lets say 7 different items. it never marks as shipped

      @@cjthund3r make sure you subscribe if you haven’t already for more content in the future :) and what particularly about shipping? I usually just do the mass bulk create labels (after I’ve adjusted any label that needs to be adjusted) and then mass print them out. It will be marked as shipped automatically once there is a scan in at the post office. I usually always make sure to get a receipt and make sure that they’ve all been scanned in before I leave so that I have proof it was dropped off. But you can also mark them as dropped off directly after you print your label, tho for insurance purposes you still need to have at least one scan before you are in the clear.

    How do you get it to automatically give the lot numbers in order? Or do you have to physically go in and type the numbers??

    • @ruffasportscards
      @ruffasportscards  4 місяці тому +1

      I think I understand your question :) if you’re wondering about how I get the auctions I run to be numbered, I do the quick add auctions and I set the quantity of the specific auction to be about 500 (I do this for my single card auctions because I know I run about 300-400+ auctions and usually wouldn’t go over 500 auctions ran in a show) but they automatically numbered them and you can hit run next if you select the quantity number to be higher instead of just being 1 :) hopefully that helps

    Do you have a video that talks about how to source your cards? How do you go about finding people at card shows to get deals? What's the strategy when talking to them?

    • @ruffasportscards

      If you haven’t already make sure you subscribe so you can enjoy more content I upload in the future :) and I have a video about all the places to buy and sell sports cards, I didn’t go into depth on how to get deals on cards but I could always make a video on exactly what I do and try to look for.
      Typically you can kind of tell who is and isn’t willing to do a good deal on cards just by asking them a certain few questions. I typically every single time I find a table that I think has decent enough inventory for me to scavenge enough through, I will ALWAYS ask them at the START, “If I pick out a ton of stuff, are you willing to work on the prices?” Typically this will answer your question about if someone will work with you, Approximately 95% of the time you’ll end up hearing them say, “Yes, Yes ALWAYS better deals in bulk.” But the other 5% or so of the time you’ll hear them say that they would want to be close to their sticker no matter how many you buy. What I’ve found is that the people who say that they are FIRM to be close on their sticker prices I typically can’t ever really get many cards from them; I mean sure I grab out as many as I can in all instances but typically for me there just isn’t enough room to work with at those types of vendor tables. The ultimate goal is to build something with someone so in the future whenever you see them at different or same shows they remember you and point you out and say, “ Hey I got more stuff for you” or something along those lines :)

    Whatnot can be so feast or famine. I've started $10 cards or a stack of cards for $1 and no one bids. I've had shows where I've done $180 in 2 hours and shows where I don't do $10 in sales. I still prefer to sell on that platform just bc I feel like live auctions are better. Potential buyers find you and your items faster. It's also easier to know the condition of what you're buying before committing. Overall, I feel like it's the best online option for selling. At least for me

      The really nice thing about whatnot is that the growth you can see by taking chances! Its definitely a different environment and it’s all about the entertainment value since it’s a live selling platform it’s not just a go onto eBay and doom scroll, it’s they gotta be having an experience. You want them to come back whenever they see your channel live, one of the big things I’ve also realized is if you end up sending your upcoming shows to ALL of your top buyers it helps out those slow days just a bit more, because usually you’ll get some to go back in there and be like oh yea I can get some nice deals from this stream :) there’s a lot of times that even I’m confused on how they don’t get bids or how they go for the price they do, but there’s some times I’m amazed also

    i have about 1k sales and i never start anything at $1 ever. $1 sales are not worth my time, if i start anything cheap its always at $2 starts and i do just fine. sellings things for $1 isnt even worth my toploaders and shipping supplies so id rather just keep the card at that point

    • @ruffasportscards
      @ruffasportscards  5 місяців тому

      I am considering starting them at $2 I’ve just realized I get higher on some cards than I would if ran everything at $2. Like some cards I think might not even sell would get $3 but if I run them at $2 they won’t sell. I agree though it is rough to sell the $1 cards and get .57 after fees and all that, but I think I get higher viewer counts, higher average sales, and more retention also. Idk I ran a bunch of card starting at $2 tonight and it was like I still had cards go for absolute steals because I didn’t have the eyes and or the people interested I usually do because of the attractive $1 starts. I didn’t realize it was school starting back up that made it a rough night selling, but yes it’s definitely something I’ve experimented with, you might cover yourself a little more here and there, but you might also nip yourself in the butt also. Plus you also might be limiting and restricting the actual quality of inventory that you’re able to actually sell because now you have the higher premium of it being $2 cards instead of $1

    • @ruffasportscards
      @ruffasportscards  4 місяці тому

      I did mean quantity not quality, but quality and quantity in sports cards is definitely possible

      @@ruffasportscards I view it as time is money, yes the difference of starting at 1 sounds cool but I’m not in the business of taking a loss on stuff if I’m selling it as a single card, obviously lots can be adjusted to give value but singles I start at $2 so that I’m either coming out even or I’m in the green, my thought process is if ppl can’t afford $2 then they shouldn’t be on whatnot buying cards to begin with

    • @ruffasportscards
      @ruffasportscards  4 місяці тому

      Yea my thought process and business model is I like to run through inventory as much as humanly possible and be able to purchase anything and everything I possibly can, so for me I like the aspect of seeing what stuff goes for if someone gets a steal for $1 they are more likely to come back and remember that they got amazing deals from you :) just two different business models both are acceptable

    Just curious do u make anything at all selling for $1 or $2 seems like lot of work not much money 🤔

    • @ruffasportscards
      @ruffasportscards  6 місяців тому

      Make sure you subscribe if you haven’t already :) and very good question :) So yea after fees and supplies and all of that you really don’t make too much money most of the time you aren’t going to be in profit by selling the cards for 1-2$ unless if you had a really good purchase you did. For 2$ wins it’s a lot better than the 1$ wins, each 2$ win you get paid 1.20$ about so it helps out you get about 2x what you would for the 1$ win and the 3$-10$ wins are really where you start to see the biggest difference in the amount of money you earn. For 1$ wins you get paid approximately .57$ with supplies to ship it’ll cost you another 15 cents on average (just completely estimating) for first class mail letter orders and that’s per order some might cost you more and some might cost you less so at the end of it if someone wins a 1$ card and you have to pay 15 cents for all of the other shipping supplies you need you get about 42 cents. But that’s the name of the game usually most of the time it won’t be people who purchase only one card and usually the cards that sell for the 2-10$ or so will make up for the cards that sell for 1$; as you can see after the calculations it’s actually not as bad over the long run and sometimes the stuff that goes for 1$ is just stuff I want out of my house so I can focus on the next buys.

    • @ruffasportscards

      @@moisesotano2835 business model; if I’m able to purchase 2,500 cards and move them all. I can save some for eBay, put some aside for pc, and build something on whatnot, also it gives me something to do each week and slowly over time I’ll be able to get a lot more for cards. It’s also nice because it means I can just go through inventory, I don’t have to have 2,000 cards in my house at all times; I move about 200-300+ each week no matter what else I do, this gives me more headspace to know that I’m not just hoarding cards and I believe in the growth of live selling platforms over the next years to come :) also if you give good deals and people can make some money or get cards they enjoy for cheaper than what they think something is worth, then you’ll have a customer until they no longer feel that value is there

I am actually currently starting to list cards on eBay again so that will be a BIG help and a BIG thing I’ll start to source for again.
