Rocky is such the talker, so sweet
ooohhh Rocky to the rescue, bless that sweet soul!
I adore your humor 😂. Thanks for taking us along. 🫂 Good luck with the camera. 📷. Hope your day gets even better. 🥦
Hiya Emma Thankyou for the visit. Blessings luv southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
Here's the deal about making compost. Don't overthink it, don't obsess about it. As long as you get a general mix of green/brown it doesn't matter. You don't have to be exact.
Loved this one emma,your humour,spot on ❤️🌹🪻🌻
Best to mix the top soil with the compost as it will bulk it out. Top Soil doesn’t have anywhere near as much goodness as compost but is fine if mixed with it.
Ah great advice thank you! I’ll do that when I use them to mulch over some of the beds x
Absolutely make your own compost Emma, you’ll love the process and results 👌
Beautiful brassicas, Emma!!! The snails and worms have completely destroyed mine...oh well, there's always next year. Love seeing Rocky!!
Exactly, always next year. And mine haven’t made it to the finish line yet! 😂
That’s what you need on your veg gardens Manure. You will definitely get crops next year if you just plonk that on top of your beds and rake over. 👍❤️👍
I love that word “discombobulated”
I’ve been making compost for a couple of years, it’s very satisfying! You should get a wheelbarrow or two of wood chips and manure to help with your compost
Thank you !
If you're looking at starting up your compost heap try planting a bed of Comfry but use the Bocking14 strain as this won't seed as it can become very aggressive and take over, the leaves make fantastic fertilizer also are great compost accelerators ir you can just throw the leaves on the ground as a mulch as they break down quick. Plus Bonnie and Clyde for the scarecrows
Fantastisch Good work Emma's you the best te moostiun te planting te uien thans te video Top week grootjes 💐🧤🏵️🌰🥦🐈🐿️☕🌻
Pleased to see you are getting the hang of gardening and that if you (or me )grow anything consider it a bonus 😂
Oh yes!
The plots still looking good and green
Mabel and Stanley scarecrows
Homemade compost, can't beat it!
I still think Hanzel and Gretel for the scarecrow😂😂😂
My pumpkins and sweetcorn here in Coventry were great this year, I chuck everything thats finished in the compost bin and seems ok, the squirrel however finished the last of the sweetcorn off😢
My sweet peas have finished, and I pulled them out today.
☺️
Thanks Emma😊❤
Emma & Rocky 😊
See you soon ❤
Scarecrow names.. Rosie & Jim 😍
Hi Emma. Best not to push your onion sets straight into the ground, you may damage the basal plate (where the roots come from). Make a hole first. Also you can plant them deeper, so just below the surface (hiding them from the birds) and trust me they will grow and sit on the surface like you would expect. I have found that planting Onions in the Autumn are more prone to run to seed than planting in the spring. So I only plant in the spring. Yes it is nice to get stuff in the ground this time of year but I just do garlic over winter because they need the cold to split properly.🦊
Emma I spend ages throughout summer cutting off the sweet pea tendrils cos as you said they hinder the flowers even strangle them tbh wish you luck keeping them going until the first frost 🤞
Hello, been watching your videos for a while on and off and due to your videos I decided to start my own UA-cam channel about my allotment. Am looking forward to seeing your compost dairies as I have just been adding a mix of things to my compost will see what I get next season if anything. Keep up the great work 🎉
Amazing!! Best of luck with it. X
@@emmasallotmentdiaries thank you 🙏
Great video as always Emma ! As you for two friends how about tweedle dumb and tweedle Dee ❤
Emma my sweet peas are flowering better now than all summer I’m in the south east
Love the little scarecrows, how about calling them Clive and Celia or Bertie and Gertie x
If i were the one that has to buy a camera i would go for a gopro. They can take water and have clear picture quality and the sound is perfect. My daughter does most of ger youtube vlogging with a gopro9
Thanks for the suggestion! X
Cute to see a squirrel I think they’re so cute but they can potentially create havoc with crops. I’m fortunate I see the odd one in my home garden but not at the plot ….yet 😂
We have hundreds 😂
@@emmasallotmentdiaries 🤦♀️ well cover everything 🤩. We have pigeons & they are so distrustive. Eat everything Hey ho we all have our nemesis. I just cover all mdd we crops
Thats why my onions never worked this year 😢 I buried them like flower bulbs. My first time growing veggies so i didn't know
Greetings from Australia 😊 love your video's. With regards to your camera id stick with a Cannon if thats what you are used to filming with, also if the current camera worked well for what you use it for I'd get the same camera. If its an older model yoy may be able to get het a good deal on it as well.
Hello Emma, thanks for the video. May I suggest “Will and Kate” for the scarecrow’s names.
Love that!!
It’s always balmy on the isle of denial! 😂
Should call the scarecrows Laurel & Hardy coz theyre like you Emma, funny & a bit accident prone
Hey Emma,
Great vlog,,,
Just a little advice from my allotment plot association friend,
He is rhs qualified,,,
He advised me to plant my onions and garlic together xX
Ah ok, great to know thanks!
@@emmasallotmentdiaries you're welcome xX
Reading all names from last vlog. My vote would be either Dug and Daisy or Lottie and Don 🎉
the Range are selling 4 x 50lt bag of compost for £10 good quality
Don’t have one near me down south! I dream of going to a b&m one day 😂
Hi Emma, where did you buy your onion and garlic from?
You inspire me to get up to my allotment even in bad weather, thank you 😊
My sweet peas stopped flowering and all the pods came, I've havested some full pods and now it's flowering again. 🤔 My ornamental grasses dried up so I did my usual and cut them back, now they are shooting again.
Names for the scarecrows could be - Monty (Monty Don) & Gertrude (Gertrude Jekyll) 🙂
Yes I would drink fermented nettle tea for 1 million
The onions are Senshyu semi globe yellow, a really delicious Japanese variety which will be ready early June.
What were you using to film seeing as your camera is broken ? Whatever it was the picture is excellent . Google error 60 on the Canon website and fix the problem yourself.
PS you put the second onion in upside down after lecturing us on how to do it correctly 😊.
Thanks again for all the laughs and entertainment Emma, now go and get some of that stable manure before its all gone .
I probably use an onion each day, so I’d need over 300 onions to last me a year!
i would drink the stinging nettle brew with a slug sandwich for a million great film tonight thanks
Hahaha! Same! 😜
Willie and dolly for the scarecrows
I wonder who Rocky belongs to and if the owner ever watches your videos to check out where he’s been for the day
😂 I would love that!!
Don’t forget to send the email about the pallets lol. Anyway lovely blog as always. Scarecrow name Flo & Joe. Are you sowing aquadulcie broad beans this winter for an early spring harvest?
You should call them Weasel and Gummidge
Oh my your day was full of really annoying things! I hope it got better (or you shut yourself off and screamed 😆)🌻Have you thought of Tilly and Tom for your scarecrows? btw when the weather turns properly don't forget to put them in the shed I've had one of those kind and he did not like the cold half of the year love light and laughter to you and yours xx
And there are the names for the scare crows... gunion and arlic
❤❤❤
Hi. Love your video s . Do you sig up your dalia? Also I am going to try something dont know if you done it before. But I am collecting my big water bottles and milk jug and I will start some of my seed in them and after winter they be ready to transport outside as I don't have green house or space at home.
The milk bottle idea is so good! And I don’t think I’m going to dig up the dahlias. But I will mulch them! X
Purely out of curiosity to compare with we we can get in NZ, what did the onion sets cost for how many? And do they grow 1 onion each or multiply. Starting onions like that is not something I've had the opportunity to do as yet .
👍👍👍👍
Cyrano & Roxanne
Wise decision to split up the onions and garlic. If one gets rot the other might not.
My thoughts exactly! X
I'd drink the nettle fertiliser for a million quid 😂
Hey Emma, how long have you had your broccoli 🥦 in the ground for? Just trying to gauge if any of mine will come 😂
Not very long. Since beginning of September and they were plug plants x
seems to me that the squirell is in charge😅
Bill and Ben
Reach out to cannon they may help you.
Next year please do not dig out the weedy sweet peas. They need a bit of time to get started and then they suddenly takeoff.
Absolutely!! I need more faith in them! X
Can anyone spell.
The new found word for me today.
Gogulated 😂
That compost is rubbish wouldn’t buy wickes compost stick to garden centre compost
Trump 2024! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
