@@buudasubuwu Really? That’s surprising when I called up different places asking what exhausts were in stock, almost all of them had the awe track, touring, and a bunch of tomeis.
thank you very much i have the non res and was affraid it would be too loud with the downpipe. very informative . i hear about this green new speed garb and was wondering . do they still have AP that work for this ? great quality products from a great company .
Our V2 J-Pipe is designed to not throw a CEL when tuning so, yes... But you if you plan on running flex fuel you may run into a code issue. Check the COBB Green Speed Update for more info or give our customer service team a call for a more in-depth explanation.
I am SO GLAD I didn’t get the V2 j-pipe without an aftermarket catback because I did not like that sound. I appreciate the video. I’m not a fan of pops in the exhaust either, which setup did you guys have that had the least amount of pops
Man, I really like the mellow sound of the resonated catback and J-pipe. Too bad none of this stuff will be in stock for the foreseeable future.....just sayin'....
Totally agree. I’m totally stock exhaust still and can’t decide on what catback because I love the mellow rumbles that don’t have a lot of drone or pops. I’m debating between the Invidia Q300, R400 and this Grimmspeed resonated catback
Impossible unless you go ecutek or wait for open source. ANY catted downpipe has the potential to throw codes regardless of cat placement. People say it doesn’t throw one with the v2 pipe, but ask any tuner or even GS and they’ll tell you there’s no guarantee they won’t throw a code
@@likeaboss9119 Thanks. My sentiments exactly. Why doesn't Grimmspeed just make their own OTS maps for this set up? I guess the answer is the same for why Cobb pulled their on OTS tunes?
@@MatthewCPT not sure, probably because they don’t want to get into the tuning side of it as much as the parts production, it’s two different ballgames, and tuning side is so much more restricted and watched like a hawk
It's all dependent on the location of the o2 sensor relative to the Cat. The GESI catalytic converter we use is a high flow cat that is similar in quality to the OE unit which in turn makes it highly unlikely that running it will throw a CEL. Like @Zevzy said, GrimmSpeed entering the OTS game at this moment is also unlikely. It is a highly examined and scrutinized industry. At the moment we would rather stick to what we are good at. There are far too many variables and far too many players in the game for us to make a valuable impact in the market.
1) what are you listening to this video on 2) it’s a modern 4 banger, most don’t sound great to begin with so the fact that these sound decent is pretty good. 3) sound is subjective so to me the tomei people throw on these is hot garbage to my ears
I like the sound of the resonated cat back the most. Gave me a great idea how this will sound on my r400’s
🙂
literally was wondering how this will sound on my r400 too and yea I'm excited now just picked the J pipe up
grimmspeed 4 life. you guys make the best sound clip videos, much appreciated.
Glad you like them!
The v2 j pipe definitely adds its own unique sound to the car. Would love to hear it paired with a tomei catback or the ETS catback.
To back I can't get a tomei exhaust for like 10 weeks 😭
@@buudasubuwu I'm so sorry. That sucks. I've had mine for a year now and even when I ordered it last year I had to wait about 3.5 weeks to get it.

Thank you for this video!!! 🙏🏼
I would like to see dyno on this part.
Resonated sounds more refined and less obnoxious IMO
dubbed "The Gentleman's Catback" for a reason.
needs some muffler deletes and resonator and it’d sound mint
Well I know where I'll be spending money now. 😁
Now let's hear what it sounds like with muffler deletes!
Bet it would sound a lot more aggressive

The setup that had the least amount of pops would be the GESI j-pipe paired with a resonated catback.
Liesssss all lies hahaha!!! This video does not show how sexy the whole system sounds 🎤!!!!! Great work love the videos!!!
Nothing compares to the sound in-person!
@@GrimmSpeed 1000% agree running the full set up and she sounds like a whole new beast.
Any more soundclips paired with a different catback? Perhaps a Tomei or AWE track
Unfortunately not at the moment. We don't tend to test our products with other companies product offerings.
Anyone know where to go for a E-tune for the J-pipe?
Is the "factory catback" the normal catback or STI/SPT factory upgrade?
Sounds like the stock wrx exhaust
If I am understanding your question correctly factory catback is the normal catback. Nothing fancy on the base WRX.
Wait. How did the gs j pipe and factory catback sound better than anything else
Man, I really like the mellow sound of the resonated catback and J-pipe. Too bad none of this stuff will be in stock for the foreseeable future.....just sayin'....
V2 J-pipe is currently in stock! Catbacks not so much. New batches fly off the shelves so we are playing a game of catch-up. Stay tuned!

Does this one come with an OTS tune for COBB or will I have to get it protuned?
We suggest a protune.
GS resonated exhaust with GS J pipe, any drone when cruising on freeway?
Good question. Very little.
What happened j pipe is not on ur website?
Why was this discontinued so quickly?
The rev on cold start tho😩 is that even fine?
🤫
Will it throw CEL with new new green speed update?
Our new V2 GESI J-Pipe should be fine. It was designed to not throw a CEL when tuning.
Can i get a catted jpipe and still get tuned for it with the new greeen update ?
Our new V2 GESI J-Pipe should be fine. It was designed to not throw a CEL when tuning.
Should be or it is fine to tune with the Cobb tuner? I want to buy it but I want to know 100% before I buy that I’ll be able to retune it
Could I hear the j pipe paired with a muffler delete?
We may do that in our next sound clip video.
how does the v2 j pipe and gesi v2 factor into the whole Cobb AP green speed issue? Basically how can you tune the car so it doesn't throw an CEL?

Will this fit cvt models as v1 didnt?
No, our v2 J-Pipe won't fit CVT models.
Stock bpv?
I believe the WRX had a prototype BPV in this video.
Nothing special about this car. Still sounds just as awful.

Any info on an updated STI downpipe coming in the future?
Stay tuned!
