Dude this was the best scene, hands down. Cool concept, cool plot, but all of the characters piss me off (just so irresponsible with such a complex power they don't understand). So this scene was a huge plus. It made me feel excited for what's to come.
I felt the same but then I started to realise that the kids were just being kids and doing what anyone in their position probably would have done. What annoyed me the most is that they have the omega and they give it to Ellie while she goes back to her home to retrieve the crown from Dodge.
agreed, I know I also cant be the only one who was severely annoyed with how the lockes even so easily trusted and told everyone they came in contact with about the keys existence like seriously? realistically apart from demons even humans would try to seek out the keys and use their powers which the way the treat this secret so frivolously may actually end up happening in the future. they don't even know if it was suppose to be a family secret which even still you don't just go around telling EVERYONE!
of course they'd be irresponsible, they're kids. Bode, obviously a kid Kinsey, a kid, plus she took out her fear Tyler, a kid, don't know what to do since he suddenly got the weight of being a father to their family And Dodge probably couldn't control her urges to be evil, since she is, you know, a Demon, just like the bullets coming out of the Black Door, just like how Lucas didn't just sneaked and take all the keys so he resulted to killing two of their friends.
Why didn’t Ellie leave the key with Tyler or someone else instead of taking it with her? She practically handed it over to Echo😭😭😭. Still a great scene, especially with Billie’s song
I thought the same thing. None of them considered keeping the key and crown separate. Sad ending but makes season 2 something to look forward too. Couldn't have the good guys win in 1st season.
No joke when he went “Hello darkness,” me and my bro were like “my old friend” at the same time as Lucas. We started laughing and felt like crackheads!!!😂😂
My sister and I literally did the same thing and started laughing super hard too 😂 we were saying my old friend as a joke but then Lucas actually said it
this scene made me laugh my ass off, there's absolutely no sense of tension at all, i can already tell that this is gonna be used as a meme considering that he used one in this scene too lmaoooo goddamn this actor is bad
the reason why is way there's no tension isn't just because of how goofy this scene played out, but because of how fucking stupid every single one of the main characters are, they put themselves into situations which couldve been easily avoided, the writers couldnt come up with better scenarios? like really? i found myself rooting for lucas because hes the only one that's actually using his brain like goddamn just kill everyone off already they all suck lmao
sasha bent Believe me, I studied for director. So I know a thing or two. This was a perfectly directed scene with a great music choice. The only thing they are going to make a meme of is your face.
100% my favorite scene in the whole series. I hate the character but this scene was just powerful. Perfect song choice too. Gotta thank Billie for providing that ear candy to the world. 💯👏
I totaly agree i honestley only watched the show becuse he was in it and when i relised he charcter was evil i was like damn but he played such a great bad guy and that scene was just everything
@@freyamortonn yess he played the part so well. And the morphs from him to the female Dodge are astounding. They truly do look similar. This show is in my top 5 of all time easily.
Another awesome thing about this scene is "you should see me in a crown" was based off a quote from Sherlock when his nemesis Moriarty says, "In a world of locked rooms, the man with the key is king. And honey, you should see me in a crown." (It's on Genius)
I actually loved the line being used. The juxtaposition of the two songs with the camera angles and the shadows made it by far the best scene of the whole show. I hope season 2 is more dark and "grown up" vs all the tweeny aspects of this season. This scene should be the starting point for the darkness for S2.
HOW?!?!?! If you don't think about the song of which that line is used, the line along with the Billie Eilish song and everything totally makes sense, knowing the crown's purpose. I think it makes this scene all the better, and is even more sick and badass.
Dude this scene gave me chills, this has to be one of my favorite scenes. My friend and I texted after I finished and I found out that when it got to that part (the (hello darkness...) part we both sing the actual song then started freaking out when he actually said it😅
This whole scene gave me do many chills and when Echo strutted up to Key House and said "I hope you don't mind I invited some friends." and put on the Crown Of Shadows my whole body went into chills this scene and the scene when Echo strutted to Key House where so amazingly done and gave all the viewers chills like me
How can people say this is best scene when this is the most “the hero’s could obviously prevent the bad guy from winning but if they did that we’d run out of ideas to keep the story going” scene ever
It’s extremely frustrating throughout the entire series the characters incompetence, however, the main attraction to this scene I think is the combination of a very fitting song, a big cliffhanger and several good director details eg, his eyes and the key as a mirror.
The cinematography and musical choices are some of the stronger points of this show, and the back and forth shots while the shadows slowly creep out from behind dodge create an incredibly intimidating vibe along with the song. Thats pretty much it. Its bizzare to say this, but I certainly didnt watch this show for the writing, which was pretty sub par.
I don't really listen Billie, but this show became one of my favourites and when I heard this song at the end of the episode, I was like: OMG I love this song! It fit to this scene perfectly!
One of the goofier scenes right up there with that one kids ghost not just waiting by the death door for dodge to come through to steal his body, and the awful showdown with dodge in the key house.
My mom hates Billie Eilish, and when the song started playing I immediately recognized it, and my mom was confused on why I was smirking. Then when she started singing, my mom had that “annoyed mother” look (like if you don’t do your chores 👀).
Say what you want about this scene. The fact that they actually referenced the song meme "Hello darkness my old friend" in the show was fuckin amazing, haven't heard the meme in like two years
The Crown of Shadows in the graphic novels is utterly terrifying. Definitely read the graphic novels if you love this show. If you are lucky, you might be able to get them at your local library. The graphic novels are "hard R" horror for adults, and the TV show I think was trying to capitalize on the success of "Stranger Things" and made it PG-13. They even added a sassy band of teenagers that isn't in the graphic novels.
Dude this was the best scene, hands down. Cool concept, cool plot, but all of the characters piss me off (just so irresponsible with such a complex power they don't understand). So this scene was a huge plus. It made me feel excited for what's to come.

Yeah this scene was BADASS

When I was watching this scene I was like OMG ... BILLIE! It suits the scene perfectly. Great music choice.
That was me too FELIX AND BILLIE IN ONE SCENE THAT WAS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE

Why didn’t Ellie leave the key with Tyler or someone else instead of taking it with her? She practically handed it over to Echo😭😭😭. Still a great scene, especially with Billie’s song

I thought the same thing. None of them considered keeping the key and crown separate. Sad ending but makes season 2 something to look forward too. Couldn't have the good guys win in 1st season.
Javontae Rocquemore exactly knowing the key cant be taken from you and why would you allow it to be in same room as crown.
That’s just bad writing
They couldn’t find a better way for dodge to get the shadow power
No joke when he went “Hello darkness,” me and my bro were like “my old friend” at the same time as Lucas. We started laughing and felt like crackheads!!!😂😂
My too I definitely knew what was next ..this scene was just perfect
My sister and I literally did the same thing and started laughing super hard too 😂 we were saying my old friend as a joke but then Lucas actually said it
Ivan Florita chill dude, you’re the one replying to a three-month old comment, let’s just hope this conversation doesn’t go any further
Ivan Florita no, worries, that’s fine :)
samee but i said it before he said that and then he said “my old friend” and i was so surprised lmao

0:53 : Hello darkness my old friend i’ve come to talk with you again
Because a little ...
So u wanna tell me that I watch this show but
I didn’t recognize Lucas from Ginny and Georgia? wtf
EXACTLY LIKE WHATTTTTTTTT
Sameee I’m disappointed of myself like HELLOO IT’S MARCUS
It's ok we didn't know him back then lol
Literally I said it looks like him but didn’t think it was really him
They are identical. How could you not recognize him?
Another awesome thing about this scene is "you should see me in a crown" was based off a quote from Sherlock when his nemesis Moriarty says, "In a world of locked rooms, the man with the key is king. And honey, you should see me in a crown." (It's on Genius)
when I head the FIRST note, I was like OML IT’S YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN
vddkjsalfj yea me too as soon as I heard the metal scrape I was like o ma god it’s Billie’s you should see me in a crown.
Same i replayed it

I guess I'm pretty glad that you're alone.
You said she's scared of me?
I mean, I don't see what she sees but maybe it's because I'm wearing your cologne
This is close to my favorite scene. My favorite scene is when Bode tapes the matchstick key onto his rainbow lightsaber and kills the shadow dodge.

Thing is, the line was actually used in the comics, so the creators must’ve used it from there

Really iconic scene. The song just felt perfect.
I swear to god this is the best end of episode Netflix ever do!!
I don't know why, but Dodge or "Well Lady" has been my favourite character from episode one. I find that she is really smart.
She's perfect 😍
How can people say this is best scene when this is the most “the hero’s could obviously prevent the bad guy from winning but if they did that we’d run out of ideas to keep the story going” scene ever
