Cummins ecm calibration temporarily allows for truck operation with malfunctioning DEF header to accommodate customers while parts are on back order.
Temporarily bypass DEF header fault codes by using this calibration technique.
Freightliner, International, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Cummins - derate and DEF gauge flashing.
This is some quality grade A info!
Thanks i just had two trucks that had this issue. Should have seen this before
Great information am a new diesel mechanic i just had to do this yesterday i was told to cut the wires on the def header so the computer dont try read it in the future. is that correct?
Damn that was awsome
Talk about jumping through hoops. They need to just do it in an ecm update and be done so we can just update and move on. All this ecm code change crap is nonsense

Here’s a link to the ECM code list, updated as of 8/1/22 for those who need it.
Thank you
How can I change the def gauge level in calterm
I was wondering if you could tell me the codes you had got I’m haveing some problems
ua-cam.com/video/zGBMp6bJHJU/v-deo.html
Usually they are:
DEF tank level
DEF quality
DEF temperature
Those were the common descriptions. I forget the actual numbers.
Great vid! Did you have the splice the plug for the def sending unit ??
I have not done that 😬. I know it’s part of the campaign but I have never done it and so far no problems…
ECM = EF10044.47
ECM code for EF10601.14 please?
EF11181
Thank you sir
Is the ECM code the password?
No. The ECM code is basically how you identify what calibration you have or are updating your ECM to. The ECM code will be something like HB90126 (just a made up number but that is the form they are in).
The ECM password is normally a four digit number that unlocks your ECM to allow it to be updated or the calibration (ECM code) changed. You would put this password in when you first connect to your vehicle with Cummins insite or while connected going to the passwords tab.
@@alreyindustries hey I appreciate you responding so fast. It was shot in the dark. Truck went into full derate and they got to the point of calibrating the ecm and have a error message " could not detect calibration for the selected ECM part number".
It was a fleet truck when I bought it. I contacted them and they told me what the password should be. As of this evening we're at a standstill.
@@bobbakian7369 three things you can try:
1. If you have your current ECM code, have the technicians look up the ECM code that matches your current code that will bypass the header codes. If they cannot figure that out…
2. Before connecting to the truck on insite they can go to the calibrate tab on the left side of the Home Screen. Once you click that tab, two gray boxes should appear on the screen. I believe it’s the bottom gray box that allows you to search for an ECM code. Search for you trucks current ECM code. If it finds your code, have them click the save button if it is available. Once they connect to the truck after doing this, they can download and install the same ecm code that is already in the truck. That should clear the codes and derate, but they will come back. If that doesn’t work…
3. You can unplug the speed sensor that rides on the output shaft of the transmission. Where the driveshaft mounts to the transmission there is a speed sensor that tells the computer how fast you are going. You will still have the check engine lights and your speedometer will not work, BUT you will be able to drive the truck at regular speeds. Not ideal but will get you going if necessary.
That’s about all I got.
@@alreyindustries i will forward information to them.
As far as option 3 doesn't the derate limit the R.P.M.S as well?
@@bobbakian7369 no. I think it will work. Worth a shot if you got nothing else. Pet easy to do.
How much $ for fleet ?
marketplace.cummins.com/ccrz__ProductDetails?sku=FLTCNT-12345&cclcl=en_US
Says $100.00 here. I guess it depends on how and where you get them.
Alrey Industries that’s not bad! I heard it was dealer only. I had 3 done under warranty.. your video will help me ty!!
Can you tell me what my proper matching ECM code would be, if I give you my current ECM code ?
If I don’t know off the top of my head I could probably tell you tomorrow
What is your ecm code?
@@alreyindustries ECM = EF10044.47
@@fasthardware6293 what kind of truck is it? I had a friend look it up and he said there was no ecm code in the list that matched the one you gave me.
