Mordy, if a 15-year-old who admires you sees you, his idol, having a Chavrusa in the AM after singing the night before, it will have a tremendous impact on him. Far more than others.

As Joey's sister I will say joey was always like that. That's no mask for him he is a silly happy go lucky fun guy and that's not something that everybody gets. Some people think always being bubbly and fun and silly means your hiding something buy in all reality some people just have more fire and energy and spirit than others and joey (yosef) is an example of that. He has always been that way and it's what people adore about him including his family ❤ Go Joey🔥

This was great. So raw. Felt like we were eavesdropping on a conversation between those 3 outside a wedding hall where they just finished a gig and were arguing about this "Jewish Celebrity" topic. Very interesting. Thanks.
p.s. Mordy is amazing for a podcast format. He is so honest and real. And you're right; he'd make for a fantastic host.

Spiritually should be authentic. It shouldn’t be hidden. Authenticity and spirituality aren’t contradictions. I think a person who has any influence no matter how small can afford to share tidbits of spiritual authenticity. It’s not bragging it’s just a bit vulnerable for some people (there are usually reasons why)…

I 100% Agee with Benny! We’re in new generation where people turn to social media, and get very influenced by it! and everything you shair is so important and gives an impact on this generation!! So many young teens, and kids, and even adults, that you can inspire in a good way!! In a world where it’s so easy to slip and fall and come across things that are not the best influence, instead, they can find things that are a good influence and this can really inspire them and bring out good in this world!! Your posting brings out strength, courage, and a great path for the upcoming generation!! I do not feel that posting is gayva, it’s sharing something personal that can be so inspirational and bring so much good influence!! Of course, everyone has their boundaries and that is fully respected!!!

The Jewish people have been given a light that shines bright. Yah has given the opportunity of a covenant relationship with which Abraham would bless the world with. You cannot hide a candle under a bushel nor does a city on a hill hide from the world around it. Light is supposed to shine and be seen. I agree with Benny in saying that people should see your faith not just hear about it. Mordy seemed to imply that talking about what you do in any sense is bragging. Everyone should be able to share what Yah is doing in there life and the blessing He is. Too many people today say that society should help the homeless and yet they do not do anything when they pass them on the street. Whether you are famous or common, people should see your El in the actions you take. Let that light shine in a world full of darkness.

I see where Mordy is coming from; yes, it can feel very awkward and ga'avadik, and it's only human to feel that way, BUT - I think Benny is the correct one in this argument. I really agree with him -being that you ARE public, and people really DO look up to you, you're in that place that you can and ARE (as someone mentioned, whether you like it or not) inspiring people, (or chas v'shalom, turning them off).

  • @z-ro
    @z-ro Рік тому +3

As much as Benny's point is essential, I deeply understand where Mordy is coming from. I much prefer to keep my moments of spirituality and growth between me and Hashem, and its often uncomfortable to talk about them. However, I do find that when I go out of my comfort zone and am open about these things, I can connect to another yid in a very powerful way, and that makes it worth the discomfort.
I don't think people see your efforts as disingenunine. It might feel that way, but really people are seeing a deeper side of you, and its up to them to admire that side of you, or have their own opinions about what you should be posting.

  • @Rzz301

I actually totally hear both points.. cuz on one hand you don't want to push anything onto ppl or look like a gaivah and I hear the point where u want to keep it ur own personal mitzvah.
However I think if someone's sincerely doing a mitzvah purely for the good, to connect with Hashem and not bc they "should" do it or it'll make u into a better person.. then it's not about u and it's not gaivadik to share it with the oilem bc it's Hashems Torah that should be spread with the rest of our brothers and sisters.. like u don't need to be a rabbi to share Hashems Torah that He gave us to connect to Him with.
So yeh I kinda agree with benny there needs to be more Torah sharing everywhere like there's never enough Torah.. it's not a contradiction like u can still share music AND Torah :) and dsnt either need to be inorganic it can come when u feel lk ah tht was good I Wana share tht with my fam🇮🇱

They are Yidden 1st be4 entertainers and they should recognize there hashpa on others

I try to inspire others with things I do. With my music, things I write or say.. But I find that there are all kids of people that view it in different ways. Some see it as a good thing and some see it as if I am showing off and looking for attention which is not at all why I do it.

Am I correct that Mordy is saying this: it is for Hashem that I do these things. I don’t need to share it with the world. I agree. Maybe it’s what someone else is supposed to do, but not Mordy. We each have different purposes in life even though we can have similar skill sets. I love Mordy and his humility and desire to remain somewhat private.

I do so agree with Mordy. And he’s right. I feel so much light coming from Mordy despite that I don’t know what he does in life. I also have great admiration for Benny and feel such light from Him as well. Light comes from the heart.
Mordy, you are correct, Brother. Be organic and real in your private place and with Hashem and family if that’s what’s right for you.
For Benny, more openness may be right for him. If Mordy does it for Benny, it might not be acceptable to Hashem because of the motive. Thoughts.
