      And if it did it last a decade before something catastrophic happened. The shear size alone would make it a nightmare of maintenance. And I could see all the "residents" refusing to pay to fix something. Sort of like how the Miami condo building that collapsed. If residents actually agreed to pay for its upkeep it would still be standing.

      What I want is for Air Ships to come back. What ever happened to zeppelins? The Hindenburg blows up because the Nazis didn't build it safely and now the entire world decides no more air ships ever? It's not even like many people died on the Hindenburg. Way more people die in ocean shipwrecks all the time. I like the idea of a floating city but how about a Titanic in the sky? DG should do a video on air ships and zeppelins. I know some people have tried to bring them back but it never seems to work out. We were making them in the 30's and 40's. Now they don't exist unless you count something useless like the GoodYear Blimp. Air Ships/zeppelin technology should have advanced by 80 or 90 years by now. Instead it's worse than what it was in it's infancy. If the Titanic didn't end the ocean liner industry the Hindenburg shouldn't have ended the air ship industry. Just compare the death counts on each disaster. To be honest I'm not totally sure if anyone died on the Hindenburg at all. Please do a video on air ships and zeppelins DG.

    The $10 billion isn't much if you're planning on 50,000 residents. That's only $200,000 each. That's cheaper than most 2nd houses retired people own. The cost isn't the issue if $10 bil. is a true cost. It's the logistics.

      @@Chaddy14 Hopefully DG reads this and does a video on it. He never seems to respond to his comments but not too long ago I started posting comments asking him to do a video on the Atlanta Falcons Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the camera lens retractable roof. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but about 2 weeks later he came out with a video about just that. He put the stadium in a few videos actually. So that was pretty cool and I thought he did a great job on it too. Hopefully it wasn't a coincidence and he sees this comment (and all the likes it already has) and then does a video about air ships. I've always wanted the airship business to come back and I always thought thought the Hindenburg was a really weak reason for the entire world just to give up on that industry. It really could be like a Titanic in the sky. Imagine how cool it would be to take a trip on something like that. Just slowly cruising through the sky for about a week and then visiting the other side of the world. Then you could just slowly cruise through the sky again to get back home after your trip is over. My guess is it's safer than planes or boats. The only difference is it's a lot slower than a plane so it would have to be looked at like going on a cruise. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if cruise liners lobbied to kill the airship industry. They want all that traveling vacation money for themselves. I like cruises and all but I would much rather try out a cruise in the sky any day.

    • @bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24
      @bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24 Рік тому +2

      Titanic didn't end ocean liner travel because that was the only way to travel overseas. Airships were not efficient because the passenger numbers was low due to weight limits. It's also slow.
      A modern airship for cruising would be an amazing experience but again capacity would by tiny compared to a ship, would have limited features be extremely expensive.

    • @matthew01234
      @matthew01234 Рік тому +1

      @@bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24 It would definitely be slow. That's why it would have to be looked at more like a cruise instead of transportation. People don't go on a cruise to get somewhere fast. The cruise itself is the destination. It's definitely a lot smaller than a water ship but I would like to think they would have gotten a lot bigger and more technologically advanced over the past century if the industry had still been evolving over that time. Once WW2 happened the zeppelin industry just seemed to be forgotten. When you think about it though I strongly doubt when the Wright brothers built the first plane they could have ever imagined a 747 or an AirBus A380 with double decks and elevators in it or a Concord or spaceships and rockets. Same thing with Henry Ford and the Model-T. The idea of a Hummer H1 stretch limo or a street legal Bugatti that can go over 304mph or electric cars with over 600bhp had to be pretty unimaginable back then. I think it's pretty safe to say that air ships would have never gotten as big or luxurious as cruise liners but I'm sure they could have gotten a lot bigger. After 90 years of advancements it wouldn't totally shock me if they had figured out how to put a swimming pool in one of those things by now. I can't imagine how awesome it would be to go swimming in the sky. They would just have to build it big enough to be able to lift them. Also, airships could have fit really well if it went in the direction of the private chartered mega-yacht and super-yacht industry. There's probably a lot more room for extra weight and space if the airship is only carrying around 1 family instead of a whole bunch of people. You would be able to do a lot more with the space and weight if it only has a few passengers. There's a couple things we know they could do to make them more safe too. I'm sure there would be a pretty easy solution to prevent the static sparks thought caused the Hindenburg explosion. They could also fill them up with Helium instead of Hydrogen. Helium isn't crazy flammable like Hydrogen is. If the Hindenburg was filled with Hydrogen but it never would have exploded if they filled it with Helium. There's really no telling what kind of advancements they could have made by now if there has been hundreds of brilliant engineers and designers working towards advancing the technology over the past century.

    I believe, you could fit the US Capital Building all the way down to the Washington Monument on that ship. Scoot the museums in, and they'll fit to. Could make it a mobile capitol. Combine the Capital building and White House to create the bridge, the reflecting pool down the middle, and maybe that obelisk at the front.

    My favourite part about this ship is there is no guarntee how well it handles waves which (and this kinda goes without saying) is one of if not the most important things when designing a nautical vessel. Like its possible it can built and it pisses off like 3 killer whales and gets capsized.

    This ship would be the constant target of terrorism attacks and pirates with everybody living on board PLUS with all of those people on board at all times you would have BIG BIG problems with people living amongst each other and the staff everyday.
    You would have daily crime on board with everything from assault to sexual assault attempts to thefts, possible mass shootings, people having guns, people fighting, people smuggling drugs on board, or even human trafficking happening on board the ship, out of control parties being thrown in areas of the ship, drunk people, attempted murder, people getting killed etc!!!!...look at all the issues that existing cruise ships deal with everyday now imagine the problems and legal ramifications of a ship THIS size with so many people in it the daily problems of people living amongst each other would be massive
    Also WHAT would be fueling this massive ship...this would take MASSIVE amounts of fuel to run AND food and all other supplies all of which gets passed onto the passengers in cost this ship would probably only be affordable to the ultra rich.
    What if a big fire broke out with thousands and thousands of people or what if the ship broke down or got caught in a storm with lots and lots of peope on board?

    • @bensmith4563
      @bensmith4563 Рік тому

      I think it would operate like a small urban country with a fairly large population of wealthy people it would still have the rich and poor but I'm guessing the poor would mostly be from really poor places so they would likely have an increase in quality of life and since it's acting as it's own country it would have law and order tight customs so smuggling probably would be well controlled pirates would not really be an issue because the ship would avoid areas known for having pirates and it would certainly have a military of some sort it would definitely have to be nuclear powered I don't think it would be perfect but it probably wouldn't be any worse than an upper middle class suburb especially if it can produce a good amount of it's own food supply
