    Just did my first attempt and have to redo. I couldnt get the outter edges to seal. Then I kinda freaked out that the adhesive was going to lose its effect so I pressed far to hard and scratched the film. Ha. Luckily I purchased alot from Home Depot as a privacy window mirror film and have more to work with. Thank you for taking the time to make the video. I appreciate your technique on working from the middle of the glass and working the bubbles from the the inside first and then out. Looked very nice when you were done and you stayed very calm. Ill try to do that on the next one. Ha. Oh and I liked how you wet the table when removing the film. Going to definitley do that also! Nice work!

    Which one would you recomment, 80% blocking or 80% light allowing or 70% blocking or 70% light allowing

    A squeegee works well for putting down the film, just spray it with the soapy water to help it glide along the glass. The plastic wedge or credit card could scratch the film.

      ....be brave and have a go! Cleanliness is a key factor. Also, whilst the film dries out over the coming days don't worry if it goes a bit cloudy - thes blotches will disappear.

      I think it will be visible...but maybe that will add to the 'magic' of an infinity mirror...😀

    Will this work with frosted glass? Is there such thing as a mirror film? I'd like to make our frosted glass divider into a mirror. Could that be possible? Haha.

    • @PowerOn-
      @PowerOn-  5 років тому +1

      No not really - frosted glass will diffuse any reflected image - you should see colours but no definable "shape"

    You should mention at 10:50 when cutting the excess film off to use a new blade because the film will dull it quickly.

    • @PowerOn-
      @PowerOn-  3 роки тому

      No I didn't make the mirror, that material is cheap and easy to buy already cut to the size you want..

    have you ever tried using non mirrored window tint on an infinity mirror?

    • @PowerOn-
      @PowerOn-  7 років тому

      Hi Austin - no not tried a non-mirrored tint, I'm guessing the reflections would not be propagated in the same way and the look would just be dim LED's? But as I say I'm guessing.

      Austin Milby I'm also keen to know if this works. If you just used the clear glass you do get two or three layers from the light reflection, I've seen mirror tint amplifies this to more layers. So I'm guessing any window tint will give some reflective layers but the mirror works best. Did you try this in the end? What was your results if so?

    • @abubbam
      @abubbam 7 років тому

      i end up buying a 15 ft role of mirror tent for a house to do a 6inx8in mirror. not very cost effective.

    • @Therealrileyb
      @Therealrileyb 7 років тому +2

      Austin Milby I've just purchased some 20% silver window tint on eBay. It is effective but I do find I can see through the tint and clearly see the LED strips. However this isn't that bad it just not the perfect mirror finish I was after. I have found better results from this though and compared to the tint before which was chrome tint the feel and quality seems much better and works better as a mirror than the chrome tint which was blurry. I could only buy 50cm by 1m rolls which was about double what I needed but I will keep it for other smaller projects. Someone should test these tints and do a comparison I bet they would get loads of visitors to their site as it's never explained in detail on any guides.

    • @PowerOn-
      @PowerOn-  5 років тому

      Hi Robert. The film goes on the inside of an infinity mirror frame, so it's closest to the led's. Thanks for your comment.

    Can you do it with 70% mirror tint?

    • @PowerOn-
      @PowerOn-  6 років тому

      rmyc Yes 70% will work. The affect will be slightly different from the 80% film in that with the lower reflection you will end up with less visible reflections but the initial reflections will be brighter😎

      Simon Jowett did u use 80% blocking or 80% light allowing. I know in some regions the numbering is reversed
