I know that the Albert family are very private, but this was posted by Edwards very kind and beautiful daughter. She wanted to share this with all of her dads fans. Thank you Miss Albert for your giving heart!!!!
Edward Albert passed away on Sept 22,2006, after a 17 month battle with lung cancer. He was only 55 years old. There are some web sites dedicated to his memory and all that he did in his life time, he was a very good man.
You can tell by watching her face, that there was so much love there. They were both so very young. Hard to believe that this was filmed almost fifty years ago, she's an older woman now and he's dead. Time, it waits for none of us....
What you said kind of makes me sad right now. But you are so right!! I saw Kate Jackson for the first time on Charlie's Angels and thought she was wonderful! I still love her! Then seeing her here even younger. And to think I was eight years old in 1974... So much time has passed. Makes me feel very nostalgic and sad to see the icons of my youth when they were young and gorgeous. A time long gone. Oh gosh, I think I'm going to watch Kate on Charlie's Angels tonight to cheer me up :-)
Goodness, what an absolutely beautiful couple. I actually got choked up watching this. Kate looks so shy and tenderhearted. Edward is gorgeous and obviously in love-so sweet how he touched her arm. Sigh. I think it's interesting that they went on to do the movie "No Regrets" in 2004 and wonder what that movie meant to them personally. Google the premise.
An inspired performance from Edward son of one of my favourite actors Eddie Albert. Yes Kate obviously was moved from the performance. It's sad how we have lost both Edward and his father a great loss to the entire world. Thanks for the posting!!
Edward Albert was a kind and beautiful human being.. I feel that Kate was a very lucky young woman to have this wonderful man in her life. He was married to his lovely wife Kate Woodville for over 28 years, which says what kind of man he was.. He was a friend to all and we were very blessed to have him in all of our lifes. May his memory live on in these videos and may we never forget all of the good things he did in his short life time.. Bless you dear man!!!
Breathtaking. Inspired. This was back when there was actually CLASS REIGNED SUPREME in Hollywoodland. Edward and Kate...need I say more? I mean, what an item. They were both talented, passionate about their lives and ONE HOT COUPLE! Folks, it never got any better than this, and they just don't happen like they used to. Thanks so much for the footage. Lightened my day and heart. Edward and Kate, two of my favorite actors. RIP Edward.
I love seeing him on here!!! I wish I had seen more of him PERIOD, but it didn't happen. I saw him in Butterflies are Free the other day and thought it sad he didn't make more movies. He was gorgeous and talented! RIP - miss you.
Edward Albert was a beautiful soul, I saw "Butterflies are free " the other night and fell in love again with his eyes and smile. Such the man taken so young in his life and career, I've seen him in other movies but he really moved me in that picture........RIP missing you
I fell in love with Edward Albert on screen many years ago. I also thought he was extremely handsome and arresting. I didn't know he could sing and play the guitar until now. The more I read about him, the more I like him. What a beautiful soul. Glad I can read about him from his daughter's perspective.
Such a sad sad shame that they never married. This was so so sweet. He was so very handsome. I enjoyed him on the TV Fantasy show Beauty and the Beast from the late 1980's and I loved Ms. Jackson on the Gothic show called Dark Shadows where she played a beautiful ghost, her fist acting role. Then she stared in the ghost move Night of Dark Shadows in 1971.
I've always loved Edward Albert Jr. From what I hear, he was well liked by so many people! I had a major crush on him! He was great in the movie 40 Carats! It is so sad that he was gone at such a young age.
acabo de ver hoy martes 5 diciembre 2023 la pelicula abejas asesinas y quise saber de estos dos actores para instruirme buenisma la pelicula con mucho sentido este actor y actriz principalmente me recuerda a mi niñez
I am here because I just watched "Butterflies Are Free," on TCM. It was a beautiful film, and Edward's performance was wonderful. His expression in the scene where "Jill" (Goldie Hawn) says she is leaving to move in with "Ralph," (Paul Michael Glaser) is just heart wrenching. Such a deeply layered film about the human experience, and the complexity of relationships. He was a very talented man!
I knew Kate Jackson was married to Andrew Stevens, but I didn't know she was with Edward Albert Jr. too. She was ( at our house) the favorite Charlie's Angel.
I remember as a kid reading the scandal sheets. If Kate was mentioned, I always read it. She is captivating. I read a funny old story that Kate caught Eddie cheating with Kim Darby, another favorite actor. Then, in 1978, Andrew Stevens supposedly cheated on Kim with Kate. I remember thinking of Hollywood as being as small and localized as a high school, where everybody knew one another. Great video.
Her body language does seem defensive. It looks like he wanted take things further but Kate was reluctant. He probably wanted to get married while she probably wanted to wait. Her career mattered to her and she was too young yet for marriage and all that entails.
Seemed like a down to earth nice kid. Butterflies are Free got me here. We're he and Kate Jackson lovers once? Sad he died so young of lung cancer. Was he a heavy smoker? Actually, he grew up in LA when smog was at it's zenith. I'm just 7 years his junior and I remember when a kid in the 60s driving up there from San Diego sometimes to visit relatives and the smog was toxic. I'd always come back home with a headache. It's just the way it was. Cars had NO smog devices at all yet and burned rich leaded often high octane ethylene fuel. Downtown LA on worst days could look like fog, only yellow. Yup. Cough.
I fell in love with Eddie while watching Butterflies Are Free yesterday and just discovered he's been married to my favorite Angel. I'm in heaven after this video. 😍
Not only did I not know he was married to Kate Jackson, (my favorite angel as well.) But I also didn't realize he was Eddie Alberts son. When I saw Butterflies are Free as a kid, I thought the actress was Sally Struthers
They were a couple at that point and lived together for a while. I'm a Kate Jackson fan. Kate and Edward did a movie in 2003 called "No regrets". I thought they still had the magic.
"I wrote it before I met her"... must've been hard for Kate to really 'feel' a song which had been written for someone else. She looked like a mixture of fury and wanting to cry. Hard having a relationship with an egotistical musician.
@@alishataylor6017 Not sure. I heard different reasons. Probably all rumors. In an interview with Rona Barrett from 1977 Kate says she still cares about him. Did you know that Kate and Edward were in a movie called "No regrets" from 2004? But both only in the beginning and the ending of the movie for a couple of minutes. But it feels like they still have that chemistry. Or then it's really good acting. They are convincing, though. Sadly Edward died of lung cancer in September 2006.

They were engaged in the mid 70's but never married. Just thought I would let everyone here know that.
Thanks, now this makes more sense.
I kind of wish Kate and Eddie could have worked through their issues. I believe Andrew wasn’t the one for Katie.

Beautiful
Why didn't he look at her while singing?
I loved him in the movie Butterflies are Free. Very talented actor.
You see her arms crossed like they are? Classic body language for "Oh my dear god, protect me."
Nope, that can also be interpreted as guarding her heart so she doesnt get hurt but she affectionately kissed him and genuinely smiled afterwards.
Her body language does seem defensive. It looks like he wanted take things further but Kate was reluctant. He probably wanted to get married while she probably wanted to wait. Her career mattered to her and she was too young yet for marriage and all that entails.
