So, generic, no name, power supplies like the one that came with the RNLA. I have tested many, You are lucky if the voltage is close to that stated and expect the amp out to be about 20% of that stated. A name wall-wart such as from HP, Dell, Panasonic, Sony etc stands a good chance of being as stated, volt and amp, on the label. I have had good luck buying good ones off of ebay.
On my unit (FMR RNLA) a few of the plastic caps that sit in front of the LEDs got pushed inside the device and make clicking sounds when I move it around. Any tipps on how I could place them back where they belong?
Hi! New subscriber here...👋 have you done a video on Quartz display replacement (sometimes old LCD or Quartz display turns to black on old gears)... + and how to put LED light on them so they can be read at night/dark places?
ah btw, do the knobs feel wobbly or are they feeling solid like metal shaft pots ? i usually try to avoid plastic shafts. but this unit seems like a great deal.
I love these. I had the RNLA, sold it. Then got a RNC last year. I miss my RNLA, and didn't wanna sell it so gotta find another one. As far as which I liked better, I think I liked the RNLA, but the RNC is awesome too, just cleaner. I wonder if I can change the VCA's lol. Hey, did you know there is also another one they make, its a yellow one, and they call it the Vintagey Compressor. Maybe that can be your third to complete the rack space. Oh, question, can these be calibrated at all? And the VCA trim, would inreasing it give you more Harmonic Distortion? If so Im assuming theres still a sweet spot, and thats one thing that could be calibrated? Ive never calibrated a compressor, so forgive my ignorance.

Surprised to see single in line packages in there in a current manufacturered product. Just had to hunt down a SIP opamp for a setero I'm working on.
I think it's probably down to "vintagey" design. If I recall you can get those in a DIP but I'm not sure anymore.

I got one for free without a power supply. AC to AC adapters seem surprisingly rare. The new versions of these compressors run off DC.
brilliant and very informative. Subbed

Sorry for the late reply but yes you could increase the distortion if you wanted. Not sure what it would sound like though.
I have one that needs repair
