It amazes me how you have grass growing year round. We get seven to eight months here. We are lucky in that we just about always have corn/maize silage year round.

You’re a long way inland for noisy seagulls in the background… no wait, that’s the spur winged plovers, noisy buggers that delight in waking up the humans at 2 in the morning. Grrrrr!

Having milked Jerseys for 32 years I’ve seen a few animals with twisted muzzles. The most extreme one l used to say could eat round a corner. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I got lambs off my neighbour years ago for my 2 children for calf club. The one condition was I was not to return them to said neighbour. After calf club was done I had these two pet lambs, on a diary farm. I am contemplating a mysterious lamb disappearance.....then the stock agent visits and says I will give you $20.00 each for these lambs. I could not believe how quickly my kids said yes I will take the money.

Pine tree prefix yeah its pretty popular over here in the U.S there from Ohio. I had actually bought some slick gene red Holstein embryos from a heifer they just recently bought. Great video tuning in from Wisconsin usa

Do you send the cows away to the post-maize block with pre-installed Rumensin anti-bloat capsules? Bent nose is called wry nose; a congenital abnormality. There used to be gate hinges with plastic inserts to prevent electric fences transferring to the steel gate. Some of the porcelain bullnose fence insulators have a 15 year warranty (at nearly twice the cost vs plastic) compared to 10 years for the glass fibre reinforced etc plastic bullnose fence insulators. (Clue - the power co uses porcelain up on the poles rather than plastic)

I had a jersey with a bent nose. Always thought it was good for eating the grass around fence posts😜

Do you use sexed semen? would increase the quality of your herd so much quicker we use it for 3 weeks at 7 fresh straws/ day herd size is 400

Love the concept but it just never worked out for me in the past the results where quite a bit down, for me I put more emphasis on getting cows in calf that first mating so opted to just go back to conventional.
I know quite a few people that have done that as well, If it works for you that's awesome, definitely the best or fastest way to grow.
Would look at giving it another go at some point though
