      This. 100%. I do love The Sims 3 and I understand why they took two steps back and brought these loading screens because of how laggy and empty The Sims 3 was. But they could've easily met in the middle with this by making neighborhoods you're in all open world and loading screens only when you're switching to a different town. This would easily bring cars and other vehicles back.

    I really hope for some sims 2 esque depth. Where the townies had relationships outside of their households, bios, interests, and memories. It added so much, like also the old chemistry system where they sometimes just wont find eachother attractive and match. Also little things like getting your kid into private school cause it makes the game just a little harder. More challenging, make it harder to accrue wealth and also just more fun but random things

      How about they actually make sexuality a thing in the base game like actually having Gay, Bi and such sims instead of blank slate default bi-sexual sims.
      Also, have it so you can make custom hairstyles. like you can custom size the style rather than just picking one by clicking on it.

    I think the sims 4 is WAY more expensive than the previous sims games, and that IS a downside to the sims 5 coming. And while I love all of the game changers I watch, I do think (even if you paid for sims packs in the past) you guys have a skewed view of how much people spend on the game. And with such a wide reaching online community, the expectation is you have to have all of the packs if you want to get involved in building for the gallery/simblr/sims Twitter etc. I know EA does have to make money and packs have a lot of work in them, but some of the stuff we've paid for in the sims 4 has been kinda thin in content for the money you pay for it, and I think gamechangers aren't gonna have the same view of that

    • @francisdolarhydeisafurry1532
      @francisdolarhydeisafurry1532 4 роки тому +3

      Technically Sims 3 was the most expensive if you count all the store content. But I still rather play the sims 3 with all its bugs than the sims 4, it's just bland and lifeless af.

    • @loudemopsychic
      @loudemopsychic 4 роки тому +5

      @@francisdolarhydeisafurry1532 I think it's easy to factor out the store content from the sims 3 because it wasn't seen as *necessary* like packs were (from an online community perspective) . Furthermore we had an easier time with custom content textures matching in game textures and create a style meaning customisation of existing objects and cas items was easier too (so in general we sought less new content in the store). With that factored in, the sims 4 is much more expensive to your average player (as opposed to gamechangers) who wants to get involved with the community

    If weather is a effing dlc again I think I will just skip the Sims 5, there are practically no games without weather nowadays. Also if it has optional multiplayer fine, but an online game won't be something I'd get.

    • @Karin141622
      @Karin141622 4 роки тому +20

      Good point. I'm not saying they should make all Seasons expansion features BG, but a basic weather cycle with sun and rain should really not be a DLC. As well as a calendar. There can still be expansions with stuff like snow and skiing or seasonal festivals, but buying an expansion just to see rain in a game world in 2020? That's some nerve.

    • @willowweedsYT
      @willowweedsYT 4 роки тому +11

      Karolína H. Exactly what I meant! I think adding weather from the get go would make it easier to add tie in features in future dlcs and actually expand on things in the expansion packs.
      I'm on the fence about pets being dlc only, but I think my first pet's stuff is an example of why it would be better to have them in some form in base game, maybe as an update, because now it's much harder to add items to them afterwards without people going crazy.

    • @vanyadolly
      @vanyadolly 4 роки тому

      The weather has always been a dlc. The other games didn't feel incomplete at launch just because there wasn't weather. I'd be much more concerned if they shipped the "life simulator" with no toddlers, teens and elders indistinguishable for adults, and practically no careers again.

    An online sims game worries me. EA made more than $2.5 billion in the last finical year on micro transactions alone. It makes up two thirds of their total revenue. If they can get away with putting the Sims online and monetise the crap out of it, they will. They’ve said in the past that single player games are dead and the only way forward is multiplayer, which isn’t true. But always online and multiplayer equals monetisation and that is always EA’s goal.
    Edit to add: all the DLC, when not on special, totals up to more than $900 USD. That is far, far too much to ask for DLC. It is not in the same price range of other AAA games. It’s greed, pure and simple.

    • @Bunnybananabunny
      @Bunnybananabunny 4 роки тому +5

      Yeah, I would never trust EA when it comes to milking every penny out of their games. This far luckily Sims has been spared from the worst cash grabs (not counting expensive DLCs), but if there's a way to get more money, EA will always take it with the minimum amount of actual addition for the player.

      This argument holds little sway.
      If you bought it all together at once. Yes its alot. If you take something like WoW or FF14. If you paid to play that game for 7 years (the same length Sims) is out it cost almost 1200 dollars. That's not including any DLC.
      So spending 900$ over 7 years (that's only IF you buy everything) doesnt sound as ridiculous.

    • @Bunnybananabunny
      @Bunnybananabunny 4 роки тому +8

      @@lucaleone4331 True, but I also feel that just because other games charge more in a different way shouldn't give right to other franchises to do so. Ideally all games should shy away from this instead of encourage it.

      Luca Leone except it is a ridiculous amount of money to ask anyone to spend on any one game. It’s a ridiculous ask to spend $1200 on WoW or FF14 too. Don’t give publishers a pass just because you like their games. They can still have great and wonderful games but be greedy at the same time.
      Because it is greed. The sheer amount of money that these publishers make is mind boggling and most of it ends up in the pockets of executives and not the developers who actually make the games. Like I said, it is ok to love these games, but that does not excuse bad practices that rip off both consumer and developer.

    It also sounds like a kind of crazy concept to create a slightly better base game every 5 years and then release the same themed packs.

      I don't know how it was on the computer but I know that on the console on Playstation mostly so I played on Growing Up it actually changed a lot more than just technology. The whole storyline changed and then it's Sims 3 you no longer have to go through a storyline and follow certain goals we still had all these other cool things going on while at the same time having the choice how much do in control your Sims behaviors.
      Then Sims 4 arrived. I don't know what happened with Sims 4 all I know is that from what I've seen and from the little I've been able to play it kind of just erased most of their personality, erased most of the actual like storyline type of play, and it kind of put this weird polish on everything, where it felt like they're very much trying to make it more La feeling than your average Joe.
      It gave up gameplay for aesthetics and mods and expansion packs.
      That's just how I felt with the game.

      If you ever want to try Sims 3, you can get it very cheaply from Steam during sales (expacs for $5!); they have some packs with base game and a couple of expacs for around $12 during those sales. You can use the code to unlock on your Origin account (although I recommend buying one thing at a time as my first try with that had major difficulty; after that got sorted out it's been fine for everything I've bought since). The Sims 3 has a lot more items and a lot more depth to the game play; sure, it may not be as polished, but it's a great game and probably my favorite installment in the series. Sims 4 can be pretty boring sometimes by comparison. I will say, there's been less stuff in each iteration in some ways; I remember one expac in Sims 1 brought this enormous scuba tank you could put in your house, and Sims 2 having a ballet barre, things like that. But in Sims 3 you teach your toddlers to walk and talk, can teach teens to drive, teens get proms, etc.

    • @sabinajoh
      @sabinajoh 4 роки тому +1

      But the bad thing is that they technically aren’t just recreating the base game but better. Look at the sims 2. They’ve honestly watered it down depth wise. I think the tech gets more expensive but the budget remains the same so it becomes beautiful but shallow

  • @Bunnybananabunny

    The only way I see online multiplayer working is a separate online world that sims can visit like a community lot but not live on.
    I would find it interesting to interact with actual sims controlled by players, since NPC reactions are so predictable. To actually have a sim be randomly mean or do something funny would be a nice change!

    • @JezaGaia
      @JezaGaia 4 роки тому +6

      But that's the issue you see, Sims weren't that uninteresting and predictable and similar in their reactions in previous sims, It's the big fault of sims 4 they completely broke sims personalities and instead of fixing it by keeping the good of sims 4 and adding back the good of sims 2 and 3 interests, personality traits, likes and dislikes and behaviors plus adding some new interesting elements to make them even better they'll simply hand us a sort of dollhouse and let us be the puppeteers of the sims to make them interesting.
      Also if there is an online mode the whole game even the offline version would still be a single program meaning that any technical or gameplay restriction they would have to follow during the development to make the online work would apply to the offline too as it's not possible to maintain two separate versions with two different coding but who should have the same functionalities and patches etc. That's a sure way to fail because it's too expensive, time consuming and horrendous to maintain at every update or bug fix.
      Also what about mods and CC ? To play online everyone has to have the same game so mods and CC cannot be used in online if all the people connected in the same server don't use the exact same content. Imagine the difficulty for people to connect together if they have to compare a list of hundreds or thousands of CC to be sure they can play together ? Meaning no mods or CC online and the only content would be the official one, good way to make you buy items in an online store.
      And then the best outcome is that mods and CC have to be disabled before going online but there could even be restrictions on what mods and CC could be allowed at all because the game would be restricted in it's code by the online version, technical restrictions if you wish that would prevent mods from working.
      It's simply a bad idea in my opinion and if they want a sims online they should make a separate game, not sims 5

    • @lexiitaryn
      @lexiitaryn 4 роки тому +2

      That is why I was thinking. Before I bought the sims 4 I used to play online and it had a separate world we’re you can play with your friends families. If they could adjust it so not only it’s a separate world but it would allow online players to connect and get together. Kinda like the online NBA 2K where online players can play basketball together but in the sims they can chat and interact.

    I feel like a lot of people jumped to IMVU-type assumptions; chatting with random people, people in my world.... I imagined Multiplayer to be a more offline experience, where myself and a friend can sit down and play together and that friend can interact with my save when I approve. I owned EVERYTHING for TS Original and TS2. (My graphics card couldn’t handle TS3 after about a year.) I could care less about the money I’ve spent. I just want the best versions of TS1-4 to be mixed together...and that should make the best thing.

    correct me if i'm wrong but i believe in sims 3 there was a "multi-player" feature where you could send gifts to your friends that you added online. I personally think that was a nice feature and would like to see it again in future sims games. It would be a way to add a multi-player feature that you can enjoy with friends without disrupting a player's individual single-player experience. But that's just my opinion c:

    I've played another online game for about 10 years. I have run into the issue with inappropriate behavior directed towards me. What that game did was to put in a /ignore command (in the case of The Sims, it could be a 'maintenance' option on the social wheel). Later on, they added an "ignore and report" option. This one went to the moderators. The player decides which to use. I've seen discussions about mods. Mods were used massively on that online game. If they affected other players, only players that also had the mod were affected. So, for example, if an extreme violence mod was being used by some players, I would not even see those interactions if I did not have the mod. Nor would my Sims be able to participate in those activities. Another topic is in-game security. I wouldn't want anyone to come on my property if I did not give permission. Right now, Sims knock on the door, but I think the player would have to be on my 'friends' list before they could just walk up to my door or interact with anything on my lot. Imagine logging back in after work and finding your house burned down and all your sims are now vampires that have joined another household! I have played another game that was a castle raiding type game. In that, your real-life friends could join your military instead of creating their own castle. Then someone with a more powerful military comes along when you are not even logged in, devastates your military and takes prisoners. Now your friends are characters in the conquerors military. So, basically, there need to be boundaries and personal permission. Just my 2 cents (or pence). :) Edited: Just want to add something I forgot to mention, I think the best-case scenario would be to make it optional. In other words, I can create a lot and household in the online version, but I can keep my offline saves. We can 'connect' like we do with the gallery.

    I am not exactly the core demographic for the Sims. aka: I'm old. For me, the sims 4 was dumbed down for younger players, and it was a disappointment. Even the cartoon look of it took a long time for me to get used to. So online play is not really something I am looking for, although I do enjoy aspects of the sims community. I want the sims 5 to make me forget about all the expansion packs I own for previous versions, the way the Sims 2 and Sims 3 did when they came out. I want a richness for all age levels, including seniors. I need more aspirations and trait slots. Emotions are fine, but I don't think they make up for the depth of personality that you had with previous sim versions. My sims always have a secret favorite color, I miss that, as silly as it is.

    One issue that might arise from not owning all DLCs now compared to before is the community aspect. I never played the Sims 3 so I don't know if there was a content sharing system, but in 1 and 2 it didn't bother me if I didn't have all DLCs, because I played by myself and didn't know what I missed out on! In 4 it's already rough to download builds from the Gallery if you don't have all packs, builds get weird or missing items etc. So if TS5 is even more communal, it might be even more pressuring especially for younger players to "need" to own all DLCs.

I deliberately took the fire/smoke alarm detector out of the house because I didn't want sims to automatically try to extinguishe the fire. But they all came running with extinguishers anyway. I actually kept making my sim walk into the fire & atleast 6 times he stood in the middle of the fire during which he should have and would normally be burnt to death... Not a chance. He only had slight burnt tinge to his clothes. This is obviously a glitch which needs to be addressed but it's another reason why I am getting frustrated with this game.. People are talking about sims 5 but wouldn't it be a better idea to get Sims 4 working properly before trying to jump into the next Game?? I for 1 feel like I'm wasting my time on a game that needs fixing..but everyone now just seems to want to jump onto the next supposition...Sims 5 Maybe Sims 5 will have sims that actually are not indestructible and die in a fire or get electrocuted by machines or get abducted without the chance of things happening being decreased. It's all well to say stop the negativitu about sims 5 but if we don't voice our concerns and problems even if they are negative, then it won't ever be corrected in the future & we will carry on getting the same of what we are getting now in years to come 🤔

    How can being online make it an unwelcoming environment for women? If the core audience of the game is female, then the online majority would also be women. It would make it probably the only online game were most of the players are women.
    BTW, I don't like the idea of it being online, I play the sims so I don't have to interact with other people lol.

      Thay comment also confused me too. I think that women shouldn't be afraid of change because of harassment (which is still literally everywhere in life). We should just keep fighting for true equality in everyform as well as video games so we don't need to fear change.

    Tbh, I haven't thought much about Sims 5 since we only know so little so far and also, I only got into Sims 4 fairly recently. The most controversial point seems to be the online modus. I think it depends on how exactly it'd look like. I doubt it's gonna be like "oh, I wanna see how my friend's Sims are doing, I'm sending one of mine over to their house and check", but I can't come up with an alternative either, haha. Also, I don't see much of a point in the argument "oh noes, I spent a lot of money on Sims 4 expansions". Like, yeah, you often spend money on a hobby that's important to you at that time. I had all expansion packs of The Sims 2 and kept playing it parallel to Sims 3 - and even preferred it over Sims 3. That leads me to my wishlist for a new installment of the Sims series: I like the artstyle of Sims 4 and hope we're gonna keep the comic look (to me, Sims in Sims 3 always looked... doughy, but with a plastic coat). I am certainly hoping for a game that's not glitchy and buggy as heck AND I want the depth of Sims 2 back. All in all, I'm looking forward to seeing more information about no. 5 being released, but I can also see myself playing The Sims 4 for another while.

    OMG, what if there where an element to the sims 5 where you could intergreate(spelling?!) challenges such as princess legacy and so on and if you do the challenge according to the rules and collect all the points you will get something and even if you miss a rule or take some liberty in the game you can collect points or something.

  • @Cassiebear101

    No sim's game need's to be open world, whatever engine's EA uses for "open world" for the sim's are clearly broken and unoptimize. There is no reason sim's 3 and 4 should perform worse then read dead 2 on pc 1440p almost full max settings, and assassin's creed odyssesy 1440p maxed. Sim's 3 and 4 have unexplainable lag and stutter, and it's just a joke now. EA also does not care for single player, if at any point they decide to actually put a multiplayer platform into a sim's game, it'll be doomed. Red dead 2 has multiplayer and guess what, because of that SP will never see a beloved DLC no matter how much ppl want it, because it cost's more, and doesn't generate an endless pocket of money for little effort. Multiplayer in sim's 5 would give EA reasons for micro's, because you cannot and will not be allowed/able to mod online. Look at mobile sim's, they are the bottom of sim's gaming for a reason,PC would be no different, it'll turn into fallout 76, or second life/imvu which are only enjoyed by ppl because of friend's, not because they offer anything decent gameplay wise.Multiplayer and single player, what? Let's just watch as EA add's load's of micros to online for clothes, hair etc plus pump out the same or more amount of the endless pit of SP DLC too? Uh no. Why are the sim's allowed to be the one game series that is worth $400+ with 20+ DLC's while beloved game's like the witcher 3 have max 2 incredible DLC's for $20 each. Most triple A title's only ever have 1-3 dlc's. I'd pay $80 for a single wonderful DLC of any other game series but i'm tired of EA and the sim's pit of dlc.

    I think that some things that have been DLC expansions should be Base game for 5.If they are trying to really improve the game play experience. When I get 'Sims 5' All lot types, parenting, Seasons, Pets should already be a part of the base game. I feel like DLC and micro transactions are getting out of hand already for games in general. Has DLC made it easier for games to be put on the market incomplete, then charge for an update?...

    I've played all the past sims games, and have bought loads of packs for every iteration of the game. (With the exception of the sims 1, which my parents payed for lmao), but I have by far spent the most on the Sims 4. I've spent about $500AUD in total on the sims 4, and honestly at this point I'm just not excited about starting the whole process all over again. Personally the sims 5 base game would have to be really impressive for me to want to buy it, if and when it does eventually come out. I am really interested in what the art style will look like though. Personally I'm a big fan of the cartoonish look of the sims 4. I'm not sure they could upgrade the character models/CAS in a way that wouldn't make it look too far into the uncanny valley.

  • @LlesiSea

    First this is all speculation and we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe it's a Sims5. Maybe it's a spin off of the Sims franchise. If it were a Sims 5 in development, there would be more than one office working on it as it takes a long time to develop just one game so it's too early to tell. With that said, I wouldn't want it to be another Second Life sort of game where players can have multiplayer function with that as the basis for gameplay, so it would be nice if it were an OPTION function and still escape to our own worlds and continue gameplay however we want. Subscriptions and paying for everything through game is very annoying and turns off a lot of people because it's the same thing as walking into Zara (or other highly price store) where you like a lot of things but become sad because you can't afford it. I wouldn't want an open world because that requires a very good computer; something a lot of people don't have the money for. Without it, the game will lag like crazy. Maybe have a slightly more open world, such as being able to travel between two close lots without a loading screen. Again, there's very little information so there's not much to say other than = let's see where this goes. Hopefully it's a spin-off they are working on. In the meantime, enjoy Sims4 / Sims Mobile / Sims Freeplay, and any other previous game. :)

Sims 4 has the best graphics (though I don’t like the gameplay hence I’m playing Sims 2) and will age so well. I don’t need gazillion polygons on my sims, just make the game fun and we are square, EA.

    I think we should get season in base game (and maybe small pets) as I think season system should in the foundation as in the Sims 4 they had restructure expansions and base game to make seasons works.
    I don’t thinks it would be a waste of resources as we don’t know what resources the Sims has we can only speculate. Everybody has a idea of what the Sims should be like or progress doesn’t mean anybody is wrong it’s just different viewpoints so I agree that people shouldn’t take other people’s opinions to heart, but also doesn’t mean one opinion is better than the other.
    I also want preteen too especially for the Sims 5 because not only will it be something different but make the game more fleshed I don’t think the problem is if they can do but how long it will take them to really flesh out features like season and preteens. I can wait for the Sims 5 if they fully flesh out these features. As years go by more progress comes some I think the games should follow. 🧐😉🙂✌️

    With past games other people were buying me those packs because I was a kid/teen... And also I didn't get every pack because of that. With the Sims 4 I spent my own money on almost everything. I am fine with sticking with 4 if I hate 5 though. I really hope with 5 that there's more focus on solid family game play from the start.
    In Planet Coaster you can download other people's parks that use DLC you don't have but it won't let you save the game or mess with those items at all. Also the DLC shows up in your game (with options to filter it out) and tells you to buy the pack if you want the item. I really don't like this method tbh... it essentially downloads each DLC to your computer but you have to pay to unlock it. I hope if Sims 5 has multiplayer features that they don't use this method.

Also she might not pay for packs but that doesnt mean you can invalidate her opinion. She's a player too and while she doesnt have to pay for the packs, she does have to wait for them to be released like everyone else so if she would rather the sims team focus on creating a better base game so we can get pets and seasons later on, which would be much more focused on for those packs then it would if they had to cram it in with the base game. If they put seasons and pets in, other aspects of the game will lack depth as a consequence.
