Hi and thank you... this literally happened on my sister in laws car... I may not comment on every video... but I do want to say thank you for all that you do. Blessings to you and your family🛐🙋🏾♀️
This is an emergency solution though. The actual problem is that the car isn't sensing the brakes being pushed so that the actuator will electronically pull the park lock out of the way. This is probably a blown fuse or a wire/cable issues...
I took my Mazda 3 to a dealership for this issue as I was told by my Mechanic its a transmission issue. I was told it was fixed after paying 1,200 for a stick that was bought and other fixes on my car spark plugs, wheel alignment etc. after paying I got in the car and shift stick was still stuck.. Was told to push the break peddle down more after driving the car for 10 years!! the next day I got a call saying the mechanic would like to me bring it in to check it out. To make a long story he tells me it would cost $900 plus labor to get the whole shift stick box changed. then he showed me how i can start the car as your VIDEO if unable to get out of park. as Abu said this is a temporary solution. I would like advice on what I should do next and if I should take it anywhere else to get fixed. I'm so upset with this experience and feel like i got ripped off!
Very sorry to hear what you are going through. From what you say this dealership isn't being upfront with you. I would suggest you get it checked out by another mechanic. Usually the issue is either a bad brake pedal position sensor, shift interlock solenoid or gear shift position sensor. Again these are just common causes causing this issue, but I can't say for sure until I see the car in person. Thus I think the best for you right now is to get the car checked by a reputed independent mechanic.

Yes, it could be the brake pedal sensor, shift position sensor or shift interlock switch or some other issue.
Brake switch
Thank you for posting some wisdom on the root of the problem and not just a band aid👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻many thanks Bro
