As he was starting to talk about "thankless" jobs where people are passionate and love to do it anyway, I am reminded that being a parent (in my case, motherhood) is exactly what he's describing. No one would volunteer for the nitty gritty of parenting but we all do it because we love it.

When I first started watching Simon's talks and interviews etc I was amazed at how 'together' he is and such a great speaker. Then after watching hours of him talking in multiple different videos you realise that its really just 2 or 3 keynote speeches that he has rehearsed and is just pulling from those and reiterating from those all the time almost to the letter. I find that really reassuring and inspiring as a success strategy to model. That really all we need to do is craft 2 or 3 excellent keynote 'messages/stories'' and just get really good at syndicating those out to the public. I really like the way he always tells a stories and analogies to best illustrate his points. He's awesome and I find him a great case study to model in terms of communication.

I concur and also find it reassuring that I don't have to reinvent the wheel every time I speak.

I noticed this to e Lisa Nichols...I watched her so much I could literally finish her sentences by the time I watched several interviews.

While this is true, I've heard him confirm in interviews and have seen this in talks, that sometimes, out of nowhere, he'll just wing it. Not fully, I mean, he's prepared but spontaneous, which is something you can be when you have experience. A fantastic example is his talk at 99U (it's on UA-cam). Never did it before, hasn't done it since. Completely unique. He's also said that he can no longer do the Why talk because he's done it so many times he finds it difficult to be present and not just speaking as if he's rehearsed.
I like that he found catchy phrases and repeats them though. Like quotable sentences. He doesn't need to reinvent the way he says something that is already catchy and effective.

That's how you know he speaks the truth, it's not about trying to impress you, it's like a guy working in a factory every day and doing the same thing, like a mom waking up every day and raising her child, it's only fun if you find the passion in it. Remember he is always an example of the thing he teaches. That made me appreciate him more. There is no easy way, like a personal trainer who goes around and tells people, you need to change your eating habits, sleep habits and start exercising 3 times a week and do this for the rest of your life and he repeats it every time he speaks. He is never bored saying that because he believes in it and he is saying the truth.

I LOVE Simon Sinek. The first time I saw him on UA-cam - and it has only been very recently since I live in the French Alps (ie a bit disconnected from the modern world), I was so excited. I had worked in corporate for a looooooooong time and people laughed at me & mocked me at times, whenever I tried to convince them the team is more important - and I think I left that world because it was just too stressful being treated like a number all the time. At times I was even called 'soft' and told ' women don't fit here - you're too mothering or personal for technology'.... and this from teams that never really got it together and big businesses that are still struggling! Hearing and reading his methodology and philosophy is such a relief because he articulates how things really should be! I don't know how you kept it together though, he is so charming and handsome. I'd have giggled myself under the carpet! :) Thanks for this fab interview.

Sad but true about jobs. I graduated from nursing school and was preparing to study for the state board exam. So while I was studying for 4 months I chose to work as a janitor at a water plant company instead of in a hospital. It was the most liberating experience. I was looked down on and ignored the first few weeks. Later I had employees there start to spark a conversation with me and would ask ' you want to be a janitor all your life? and I will reply with im a nursing graduate and studying for my state exam and immediately every person eyes would light up and say "im glad you are pursuing something with meaning because a janitor picking up trash is degrading" i would smile and say "actually i like this janitor job and its really teaching me humility. plus i enjoy cleaning whether i get paid for it or not' it was an interesting 4 month experience on how the world really do waste a lot of things and how people view a job as a janitor vs a job as nurse. if you really put a job in perspective , like Simon says "its service. Serving others' whether you are a nurse, janitor, volunteer, or CEO... forget the job title , our dna is putting others before ourselves every hour of every day.

The insight and brilliance of Simon really shines through! Good work!
I thought when you'd shoot your videos in 4K, you'd get a way more sharp image of the cropped head shots.
Because they were a little unsharp.
Just one little technical feedback that came into my mind 😉

Simon is simply brilliant! Good interview session by Kelsey with very relevant questions on how he got started and asking the other "hows" for viewers.
It will be better if Kelsey can put away the phone during the interview. It's ironic when Simon was discussing his detachment from phones and being present, yet there's a phone right in front of him during the entire interview.

Minute 10 begins a whole new speech. It gets redirected, but I would love to hear that discussion furthered by Simon. There is a HUGE misconception/judgementalism/misunderstanding of the basic priniples of what OTHER people want or should want. I know plenty of happy machinists who have no interest in elitism. If happiness is the goal why do we continue to force the misconceptions of what is assumed to create happiness on everyone? I love that Simon addressed that.

Simon had a talk about how addicted people are to the technology. If your sitting with your friends, and you bring out your phone, you just send a subconscious message to them that your not that important thing to me right now. and then I look at the interviewer in the video =)) I know she didn't mean it but i'm just saying

By far, the best interview I've heard, simply because you were not "fawning" over your guest. It is clear that you deliberately went in to retrieve valuable information that you could share with your constituents. I love Simon Sinek, but I chose to listen for what you would artfully extract from the conversation and the nuggets you were seeking to gather and share with small business owners like myself. Great job!

I’m really curious how the interview claim
To be a “great fan” of Simon Sinek but ignored one of his main rules: “no cellphones should be allow in the meetings” haha

Ha seriously HOW DID NO ONE IN THE ROOM TELL ME!? I use my phone to go over my notes beforehand and was so nervous I forgot to put it out of sight like I normally do. I will NOT make that mistake again haha

The Pursuit haha smart decision specially when you are with our friend Simon here. he seems to despise this bihaviour and always speak against it. we are lucky that he went through with the interview and didn't walkaway lol .

Why is she doing an interview with her cell phone on her lap? She, obviously, has not done her research properly and not watched his other videos where he talks about cell phones! Or, rather the big no-no of having cell phones in meetings etc...or interviews! I wonder what she will do if her phone rings or a text message arrives in the middle of her interview? I can only guess...

SO EMBARASSING. I use my phone for my interview notes and review right beforehand, and always put it out of sight when we start rolling and this time I forgot. Never again!
