- Church discipline is rarely practiced in modern Christianity. Yet this is something that Jesus Christ has told us to do, and Christ is more loving than any of us, so if we refuse to practice excommunication, than we are far less loving than Christ. May our view of love be that which is found in the life of Christ and not a view that is made up from our own understanding.

“And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”
Revelation 10:9-11
There is so much honey poured over the scriptures to make it palatable for the wicked, that those who need the bitter discipline of those scriptures are getting a taste that they’re not meant to have and they wonder why the after effect is a bitter stomach of their own unrighteousness. Then he is told that he must re-tell again to the nations, kings, and languages. This tells me that the bitter scriptures have been sugarcoated from the beginning. However when I read Revelation it is only bitter and it comes with a warning for those who would change it. Almost every Christian I have ever known was scared to read it after starting it.
