YES!! More small streams and kayak fishing!! There are a thousand fishing shows where they fish the open Waters and big Rivers, but not everyone has acces (a boat) to them, but almost everyone has a small stream nearby that they can kayak and catch fish on. the big open rivers and reservoirs, one show starts to look like another.
The best part about your vids is when you catch a fish, you still act as if it's your first catch when you were a young kid! Love it keep them coming brother!!!!
@@RiverCertified that's definitely the reason I relate. I can see the kid in you that comes out in me when I rip a lip. Panfish, bass, channels, walleye, striped ones, and real cats ,you don't put all your eggs in one basket and I can't do it either.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to meet with us on Sunday ! Means a lot you were willing to do that, thanks again Spencer !! will be booking a trip after the wedding
Good to see you back on the bank. I really enjoy all of your videos, but the midwest creek and kayak videos are my favorite. Keep 'em coming my friend!
I agree about channels. Not my favorite fish to catch, but when a 10-12 lb cat grabs your Texas rig or crank bait, the fight is definitely on! Lots of fun
I love to watch all your videos. I'm looking forward to the small streams. It makes me want to go back home and fish the canals and bypass we used to when I was a kid.
This kind of fishing is what I’m talking about, I grew up here in northern ca fishing this way as a kid and still love doing it as an adult. Awesome video Spence 👍👍👍
Man I love the creek and river treks but make sure you stay strapped up. There are a lot of bad people out there that will try to rob you blind and leave you for dead out in those woods. So just be safe and if it's legal make sure you have some heat!
That is a nice peaceful creek with some nice nature sounds. Lakes where I fish are full of houses and tons of boat traffic, so all you hear is motors and leaf blowers all day.
I’m a soldier in NC but I was Born & raised in DSM IA making miss home each video your in IA, man keep rocking and maybe one day you’ll see you fishing 👊🏽🫡
I really enjoyed this video Spencer. I just recently lost my brother who was extremely close to me. And we used to make it a tradition to fish together at least every weekend for Channel Cats and Carp. Most of what we fished were back creeks or creeks that would feed right into the Potomac River. Had many awesome trips together and will always treasure those memories. Today's video really looked like some of the creeks we would bank fish from. I'd love to tell you more but don't want to sound more long winded than I probably already have. Thank you for the great bank fishing video and best of luck to you in all your fishing adventures.
Great video, I fish in W central Ohio, we have a river and a few creeks that I fish routinely, my favorite time of the year is spring, bobber and jig and even live bait, nothing like hooking into the 2-3 lb channel when you are crappie fishing with 4lb line and #4 hook 9ft rod, its a blast and i get as giddy as a kid, love your video brother
Another great video Spencer. Your videos never fail to please. This one brought back alot of memories. I miss going fishing so much. Thanks for sharing, stay safe and God bless you and yours. 😊😊😊😊
I'm not very good with words sometimes and am too flattered to know what to say. So I'll just say I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. All your support really does mean a lot.
Big water is cool and all. But I love seeing water like what we’ve got here in southern IN. I’ve learned a lot watching you fish rivers just like mine and I’m excited to see more river certified! BTW get some tan hooded shirts!
Nice vid Brother, I agree, Suckers works great for catfish!!! I have four huge Suckers that are whole in my freezer for this reason in Northern East Lower Mi.
Try that on big water wind drift a bait around log jams and junk big bait big bobber I'll use small coke bottle for bobber lol it works keeps bait off bottom nice vid as always 🐟🇱🇷🇱🇷
It's definitely a lot of fun catching channels on a light steelhead rod.i have a 10ft 8-17 lb Shimano I use and absolutely love it for catfishing, really it's an all around getter lol I use it for a lot of different species.thanks for the video man🤙
Thanks Dale. It's definitely nice to be back and I can't think of a better time of year to be here. I'm lucky and definitely don't take it for granted.
How do I get river certified lol? Fished the Cumberland river here in TN last weekend landed a 8 pounder, couple weeks before that fished the knickajack lake on the Tennessee River landed a 6.5 pounder. Using ugly Stix gx2 with quantum optix 60 series spinning reels and 15lb test mono
If you're fishing from the bank, that's a tough body of water. I'd get some surf rods to help you get your bait into the main channel. If you have a boat, definitely look for timber in the main channel
I think I've hit the point to where I am done fishing with lures on these small trips I go on. I'm going to switch to bobber fishing. There are endless choices of things to put on a hook to try to catch a fish. Not to mention the secerenity of watching a bobber over there and getting to watch fisherman do all kinds of tricks while putting their boats in the water over there.
Hey spencer can u make a video on how to ty braid line to swixel or to a hook ur way i just bouht some and never used it before and had trouble tying it thx this video is more you than those tournaments good to see
You’ve had some fun, man! Stay or go? Probably the hardest question to answer for any fisherman lol. I love using light tackle, longer moderate action rods, pulling the fish with them is always funny! Thanks for sharing, Spencer!
Awesome video bro I love bobber fishing rivers and lakes I always have a couple of rods rigged up with bobbers al summer long and chasing them CHANNELRATS is a blast keep slaying em man
This rain has been nice for water levels but has made banks a mud mess when I take the kids. My eldest went sliding into the creek and was a mud mess had to strip him down before he was let into the car
Next time you use creek chubs try stepping on it till it pops. Hook it through the eyes and then turn the hook back through the body. We call that smush. It works great
Well as you already know, water up here in Des Moines and there are a few feeder/small creeks that ain’t so small right now and I’m hoping to get out tomorrow and do a little doodling myself. Great vid like always Spence 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Permethrin. It's your best friend in the springtime. I haven't had a tick on me in years. Everyone has their opinion on it, saying it's dangerous or whatever, but the most dangerous thing to my health is the mere thought of getting a red meat allergy from a tick bite.
Enjoyed the hell out of that! More FLOAT fishing please and don't be sad at your hooking rate, it takes more skill to acctually pay attention to the float AND catch fish.... 🤣

I get that. Glad you enjoyed this one.
The best part about your vids is when you catch a fish, you still act as if it's your first catch when you were a young kid! Love it keep them coming brother!!!!
I guess I'm a pretty open book in that regard haha. Glad you enjoyed it!

Bobber videos are the best. I enjoy it when you're bank fishing. I'm a bank fisherman myself.
I agree. I feel the same way. Have a good one!
Good deal. Bobber fishing is definitely one of my favorites. Got a bobber out while I type this haha
Back to the basics that built your channel ! Love them….
Glad to hear it man. It was nice to be back home and doing some bank walking.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to meet with us on Sunday ! Means a lot you were willing to do that, thanks again Spencer !! will be booking a trip after the wedding
As far as you drove, it was the least I could do. Congrats again man. Looking forward to some fishing!
Absolutely one of my favorite ways to fish. Bobber goes under, I hold my breath in excitement every time!
Hell yes man!
Nice catches Spencer. Love all of nature's sounds, peaceful and relaxing
Thank you kindly. Glad you appreciated that too.
Finally some fishing for us peasants! Missed the skinny water videos!!
Haha the little water is still my favorite. I just get caught up in wanting to try new stuff.
Good to see you back on the bank. I really enjoy all of your videos, but the midwest creek and kayak videos are my favorite. Keep 'em coming my friend!

Oh man, when the smack a crankbait it's like they have a running start most of the time.
Cloudy days dirty water and Channies. Sometimes it doesn’t get any better. Great video. Them old chubs are great bait. Thanks for taking a along
They like that kind of weather as much as I do. That chocolate water gets em moving too.
Now that's having fun and relaxing, great to see you bobber fishing ,thanks for the trip Spencer
I love to watch all your videos. I'm looking forward to the small streams. It makes me want to go back home and fish the canals and bypass we used to when I was a kid.
Do it man. Poking around on the small water is a good time.
This kind of fishing is what I’m talking about, I grew up here in northern ca fishing this way as a kid and still love doing it as an adult. Awesome video Spence 👍👍👍
Hell yeah man. You're living the good life for sure then. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great creek fishing! Awesomeness
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man I love the creek and river treks but make sure you stay strapped up. There are a lot of bad people out there that will try to rob you blind and leave you for dead out in those woods. So just be safe and if it's legal make sure you have some heat!
I'm usually sitting good out there. I try my best to get away from people most of the time.
Hey that's going back to your roots of fishing and they almost always provide if not you still having fun. Clay from mobile Alabama
Say hi if you do man. Big time respect for what you're doing. You're tougher than I'll ever be.
25:55 that’s the size I get in my area. 2-3 pound bullheads and they taste good 👍🏼
Can't beat them if you're gonna fry em. Definitely my preferred size to keep too.

Happy trails and bountiful waters, good sir 🫡
Agreed. Tough to beat it.
Great channel. Catfishing has always been my favorite since I was old enough to put a poll in the water. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you about the wood ducks, and am looking forward to some kayak flatheads.
I felt like we were leaving too soon. Boy, that was fun. Thanks for a great morning. Stay safe.
There will be more for sure. Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a relaxing vid.... this man is the Bob Ross of catfishing
Glad to see you getting back to what made me start watching

The little ones are the hardest to let go too. Their barbs are sharp as hell.
They're sometimes get more attached than I'd like haha

Back to basics, gotta be the best. Great video..👍👍
It's definitely nice to slip around in some mud. Glad you enjoyed it man.
Small creeks rule!👑
A million percent!
Nice vid Brother, I agree, Suckers works great for catfish!!! I have four huge Suckers that are whole in my freezer for this reason in Northern East Lower Mi.
I started watching because of small river vids. I hope ya keep doing a few cause it's like home to me and how I fished w/ my Dad so many times.
Try that on big water wind drift a bait around log jams and junk big bait big bobber I'll use small coke bottle for bobber lol it works keeps bait off bottom nice vid as always 🐟🇱🇷🇱🇷
I've done it on the mudflats for blues. I need to give the flatheads a go one of these days too. Thanks for watching.
It's definitely a lot of fun catching channels on a light steelhead rod.i have a 10ft 8-17 lb Shimano I use and absolutely love it for catfishing, really it's an all around getter lol I use it for a lot of different species.thanks for the video man🤙
I’ve got a 9’6” HMX medium light 2-8 that is super fun to fish for things you shouldn’t be using it for….
That would definitely be a fun rod for all kinds of stuff. Bet it makes a good carp stick too. Glad you enjoyed it man!
Awesome video Spencer. I know you are glad to be back home. Thanks for the video and for coming south for the winter.
Thanks Dale. It's definitely nice to be back and I can't think of a better time of year to be here. I'm lucky and definitely don't take it for granted.
Being our biggest catfish in New York is a channel cat I enjoy seeing some caught. Tight lines 🎣🎣
They're a darn fun fish. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video. Good to see ya out at these regular ol places any of us regular people can go hit catching regular ol fish. Perciate ya! Take care now!
Im with you on the channels, hard fighting, light-medium tackle is a blast🎣
Love the bank fishing vids! Classic river certified stuff. Gets me pumped for my channel cat tournament this weekend!
Most of those would be pretty damn big for the lake I live by. And I'm a shore fisherman for the most part. Top notch as always brother!! 👍🏾👊🏾✊🏾🙂💯
They're all fun as long as you don't use too big of tackle, at least that's what I try to do. Thanks a ton man!
Fantastic Video it’s rainy and nasty weather here so I get to watch your videos 😂
Oh yeah! Nice place, cool fun. Back to basics. Gotta love it.
I'm glad you enjoyed it man!
Love it takes me back to my childhood, thanks Spencer for the great video 👍👍Love those Mud Buds!!
Same here. Luckily I haven't grown up too much. Glad you enjoyed it.
I prefer fishing the bottom but corks are fun when not dealing with a strong current.
💯 on that
Nothing beats bobber fishing for catfish. I went today with some ultra light tackle and had a blast!
Hell yeah man, glad you're catchin em!
@@RiverCertified learn from the best! After watching literally I think all your videos. Definitely improved my fishing.
Slappy with a bobber, good combo for the bank, thanks for sharing Spenc!
Definitely my favorite channel cat combo. Thanks as always man!
Slappy for the win !!!!!! Another banger Spencer. Thanks bud!
He's been going hard for a long time. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Love these kinds of videos. I use that brand for musky reels i have a 8-1-1 and a 5-8-1 both musky reels.
They're tough to beat for the money. Thanks for watching!
It’s nice to have water for a change.
That's no joke
Awesome to see you back in the creeks you always put out the best videos keep it up and keep those lines tight my friend

Watching a bobber bobbing and listening to Mr bobwhite in the background! Love it!
What time would you say is the best time to flathead fish small rivers like the Raccon
Anytime they're not frozen really. Water level seems to play the biggest role.
Back to your roots and I like it!!! Man i love hearing those bobwhite's in the background.
That's one of my favorite parts of that spot. You can hear bobwhites, roosters and gobblers all right there.
Welcome home! Thanks as always.
I appreciate that a bunch man!
Glad to see you back home! Come over to the eastern side of the state and fish the Mississippi. I have a few honey holes that hold some nice cats.
I'll be over there next week. With the high water I'm excited to check out some back waters.
I know you're proud to be home. Glad you made it safely home ❤
Thank you. Looking forward to getting back down there this fall.
Thanks for bringing us down to the creek with you
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your channel, man. It's getting me through some unbelievably hard time right now. God bless!
I'm cheering for ya man. Hopefully you can work your way through it.
Love the bobber vids
Good deal man. My inner toddler loves bobber fishing haha
You must not of been hungry Spencer. Those looked delicious!!!
Love the Slappy/bobber combo! Great video - thanks man.
That definitely makes two of use. Glad you enjoyed it man. I appreciate you watching all the videos!

Haha there's lots of ways to catch fish, but a bobber is one of my favorites.
Some of the most fun I’ve had is a 4 lb channel cat on a Barbie pole. Lol
Hey spencer can u make a video on how to ty braid line to swixel or to a hook ur way i just bouht some and never used it before and had trouble tying it thx this video is more you than those tournaments good to see
Love your small river videos!!!
Glad to hear it man!
Thanks for posting. Makes me want to get out more.
Great video good to see slappy
Glad you enjoyed it
You’ve had some fun, man!
Stay or go? Probably the hardest question to answer for any fisherman lol.
I love using light tackle, longer moderate action rods, pulling the fish with them is always funny!
Thanks for sharing, Spencer!
Heck yeah man. Tackle matched to the fish is always better. Glad you enjoyed it!
Blessings 🙌🏿 KANSAS CITY IS WATCHING 👀
I appreciate it!
Great video, really love watching channel. Where can you buy the take down rod holders?
Awesome video bro I love bobber fishing rivers and lakes I always have a couple of rods rigged up with bobbers al summer long and chasing them CHANNELRATS is a blast keep slaying em man
Looks like a lot of fun for sure
This rain has been nice for water levels but has made banks a mud mess when I take the kids. My eldest went sliding into the creek and was a mud mess had to strip him down before he was let into the car
Great video, looks like you were having a great time . Gotta love bank fishing. 💯💯👍👍
I 💯 was. Thanks for always watching Jeff.
Next time you use creek chubs try stepping on it till it pops. Hook it through the eyes and then turn the hook back through the body. We call that smush. It works great
I've tried that but haven't had any better luck with that than I have just chunking them up.
River Rats.... Monday's are now Officially Bauer Mondays! Bka/River Certified 👑 👑 👑 🎣 💯 🇺🇸😂😂😂 Tag a friend Tell ah Fish.
Hell yeah. You're the man James!
👍👍👍👍👍great bank 🎣video be watching for the next one.
Lots of fish is beautiful despite the surroundings.
i like doing the same bobber technique for Bullhead
I’ve always said you’re pretty certified for a cubs fan!
Where’s the link for the bank rod holders , I couldn’t find it in the video description
Fr bobber domination!❤
So if you were strictly going to bank fish only with a Carolina rig, what gear ratio would you like best on those reels?
Fun stuff! Lovebank fishing.
Heck yeah man. Thanks for watching.
You should make the trip to Ohio for the king kat tournament at Sandusky Bay in June. Think it's the 15th and come catch some giant channel cats.
Well as you already know, water up here in Des Moines and there are a few feeder/small creeks that ain’t so small right now and I’m hoping to get out tomorrow and do a little doodling myself. Great vid like always Spence 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good luck man! They should be biting.
Sometimes you have to get out of the boat.....
Absolutely. Whatever puts the fish on the hook.
Permethrin. It's your best friend in the springtime. I haven't had a tick on me in years.
Everyone has their opinion on it, saying it's dangerous or whatever, but the most dangerous thing to my health is the mere thought of getting a red meat allergy from a tick bite.
I appreciate that. We don't have lonestar ticks up here I don't think, but we do have deer ticks and Lyme disease is something I'd prefer to avoid.
Hey Spencer that look like a lot of fun bro.
Except for them damn ticks
I grew up doing that and I think I love it more now than I ever did.
Spencer for Emperor of the universe!!!
I can't even rule the catfish all the time. I'll keep working on that first haha
I think I like these kind of videos better.
Wait, will Skip ride on the kayak? I mean, we like you just fine. But what about Skip?
He did last summer on a trip with ella
We're definitely gonna find out.
Welcome back to Iowa, you’ve missed most the rain, It’s been raining a lot the last few weeks!
I've gotten to enjoy some of it. Hopefully there will be more.
@@RiverCertified definitely, we still need a lot more!
How about an episode on jug fishing for catfish, throwing-out 6-7 jugs and wait for harvest 🤔
Do you use whisker seeker triple threat hooks?
Enjoyed the hell out of that! More FLOAT fishing please and don't be sad at your hooking rate, it takes more skill to acctually pay attention to the float AND catch fish.... 🤣
