Totally agree on your assessment of the FLIR One Pro camera being purposely crippled to drive customers to buy the more expensive models. Typical corporate BS.
That happens in everything from cars to computer CPU's. A Tesla's performance can be unlocked with over the air options once purchased. Many lower end cpu's are just restricted higher end units.
Another thing about Flir cameras is it’s impossible to remove the Flir watermark from any of the images or videos you make. I spoke with a Flir representative and they confirmed that the user cannot remove it. They said it was a “marketing choice” This won’t matter for most people, but it might be relevant to some people.
@@UNgineering I have tried real hard to find a good camera but it seems like we have to find something that is just good enough and barely works until something better hits the market. I think if more people purchased thermal cameras and the industry faced more competition then we would see innovation...
many thanks for the only objective vid i've been able to find on the FLIR and closest alternative. Was thinking of mentoning it in my 'dear santa' letter but not so sure now. To be fair to the FLIR agent, he probably meant that the video capture and record was so poor they dont feel able to support it as a feature.
Flir is usable for real time work. So if you want to see a component on a PCB or find out which window you need to insulate better, it'll do the job. Its only big problem is the recorded video quality. But if you want to do basic stuff like that, there are much cheaper alternatives, like InfiRay. There's also Uni-T UTi120, it's less than half the price (although resolution will be lower), I just don't think you can get these on amazon.
I got an InfiRay T3 Search from Clean Unbox. You can find also T3S in the same price range (about 600-650, max. 700 USD). They both are "day and night" in comparison to FLIR. Just look at some reviews and judge by yourself: ua-cam.com/video/xyvGgzgZua4/v-deo.html
Just an FYI- Seek Thermal has a warning on their website their pro is NOT sold on amazon... they are fakes. The real one has a cleaner, clearer display and over 15fps. This is a compact with the outer housing of a Pro.
i had never heard of this company but after a quick search it looks WAY better htan both flir and seek... similar price as well. i may end up buying one from aliexpress
@@make-u-rich879 i actually did not buy it, i just got a seek pro from amazon. unfortunately the upper temperature limit of 250F is a few hundred too low for my applications.
@@beardedgaming1337 this T2S+ i got for 300 usd trough clean unbox. Mesures up to 450c. Macro of 8mm distance. You can see tiny SMD cap of 1mm like its a giant brick. And home stuff like checking the ceiling on summer to see the heat seeping in 😁 i love it. Which seek model you got?
Not really. You need to understand thermography. Infiray are useless at professional applications because their measurements are miles off and dangerous if used for assessing temperatures. Infiray are only better if you just want a clearer picture or use it for more like night vision. But for HVAC, power lines, high voltage circuits and furnaces you absolutely need a product like Flir.
This review is misleading. I have used both. Real image quality of FLIR is visible only without MSX. FLIR image is much blurry and carry less details compared to Seek. What you see with FLIR are full of fake lines drawn around the object with MSX to give an artificial crispy image which are taken from the visual camera and NOT IR. Seek is fast responding and carry ore details at a higher resolution.

Thats why i got the infiray T2S+. Way better than flir one pro. #t2splus

No you cant
The average person can't. But it can be removed.
Very good comparison! What would in your opinion then, be a good thermal camera (justifiable cost benefit)?
I haven’t found a good one yet. So far any camera I saw with decent specs has a price tag of $1000+
I use flir one pro version 3 on iphone11, and its very good device. I found a lot of thermal bridge in the attic, very useful. I like it very much.
I agree, self-inspecting your home for cold leaks is one of the areas where this camera stands out.
Update. There are countless issues with battery faults. Dont buy.
Any plans to test the SEEK Nano unit?
At the moment I don't have access to it, and it's pretty pricy for me to buy.
I won the flir pro one in a raffle and haven't used it much but when I went to use it the other day i noticed the app has lost a lot of its stuff.
Friend, how was the last good version of Flir App with many options ???
Which thermal imaging camera should I buy under 1000$?
I haven’t found a good one yet.

Are you saying that the temperature adjustment on your soldering iron is more accurate than both cameras?
i checked the iron with a temperature meter first

@@UNgineering Richard, maybe you can record the screen with the iPhone instead and get the same framerate and resolution as what you see live.
Just get an infiray T2S+ way better than any flir model for fraction of the price. #t2splus

Where are the temperatur bars which let you read out the Temperatur values in these recordings?
There are cursors that show the temperature, there are no bars
I bought a flir and returned it, what thermal cam would you go for?
I haven’t tried other cams, if I can afford it in the future, I’ll try some other ones.

Both has blur images but temperature measuement is good. Have you used InfiRay/IRay? Their image is better.
I have not, I don’t have an android phone to try infiray
Do you have to use a phone?
Since the FLIR has USB-C can you use a USB-C to HDMI adapter and plug it into a TV?
Unfortunately no - they require their own app that only works on android or iOS (depending on the model)
Hello i have the flir one pro iam not happy poor video slow response about half hour working time..
Than visit the Clean Unbox channel and have a look at the Infiray T2S+. Eats any flir model for breakfast. #t2splus
What would you suggest a thermal camera for artistic purposes?
I’m not sure, I’d look for something with a frame rate of 20fps or higher
Are there any other alternatives for home inspection use?
I've seen InfiRay and Uni-T UTi120 mentioned in various places, but I haven't tested either of them personally.
Buy an upgraded Flie E4 on eBay for around $1000 and after the upgrade, the resolution is 320x240 which is excellent for home inspection.
@@pcsbuffalo Just tell us your ebay account already and just get it over with, lol.
How about flir in smart phone
This is the Flir that attaches to a smartphone.
You bought a defective seek thermal, I was replacing 3 thermal seek pro cameras, till I got a correct one:)
Probably. But that’s a huge failure rate then.

I said FLIR image is more blurry because it has lower resolution. 0:49, 1:28. Did you miss it?
