I'm a boy in the first year of middle school. I always look at your work and use it as a reference. I enjoy watching it every time! I wish you the best
5:15 The paint and body work really is a lot like the real thing. Over in the auto painting world, we call that first coat a "tack coat." You only want to spray enough to make the surface tacky. I must say; Jun's painting skills are impressive.
IS THAT A SUPRA ?! you made it looks so easy to do. Kinda want to try myself, but never had the confidence to do it ahah. Anyway really cool video, awesome job.
Thank you for the support🙏 Tamiya is the brand of the paint I use mostly. They have acrylics and enamel paints but I only use their acrylics and spray cans.
I've begun the process of building this kit. I appreciate you having this video for me to use. Hoopefully, it'll make the work easier. I already have seen some things I need to go back over.
what glue do you use to put together painted parts...??? because i use tamiya thin cement (orange one) and my paint work always come off like im using paint remover and it makes every thing go muggy and stuff so i was curious how you get your painted parts so good???
I used BSI super gold plus which is a super glue. It works well for painted parts, it won’t frost clear parts either. Just be careful when applying it to the parts because it’s still super glue. If you apply too much it will still spill and create a mess.
Is there another way of painting the car if you don't have the paint machine? (Asking as a beginner looking to get into this hobby :D ) Ps. The car looks fantastic by the way.
Thank you🙏😊 You don’t need the airbrush if you are only building one or two cars. You can use spray cans for the body and hand brush acrylic craft paint for small parts. Works just as well.
Tamiya kits are ace really easy to follow for beginners- fiddly at first but they’re all the same- however this is on another level with the paint prep and detail!
Ok I have a question what size tires is the Supra because I lost mine when I was working on it and I’m wondering was size are the tires? Need help ASAP!!?
Question, how can I replace the vinyl fluid? In my country they do not sell almost anything of what you use in this video and I just bought this model kit so I would like your opinion about the Options that I have the car you made in the video is beautiful and I love your vídeos!!!
I know this is probably your most asked question, but what supplies should I need for this? This is going to be my first kit build ever so I would like to know if you don’t mind. I’m also thinking about putting different rims on this than the stock ones as I don’t like the original rims, But I don’t know how to tell if they will fit or not. Hope I was clear enough and thank you! P.S. I love the mini garage thumbnails
For beginner you don’t need a lot of tools, simple tools such as side cutters, craft knife, sand papers, glue and paint are basically all you need for your first kit. As for wheels you can modify other wheels to fit but the easiest way is to glue them on the brakes. But since it’s your first kit, I wouldn’t worry about the result, just enjoy the process and experience.
Awesome build! Love your build style. But you got a small mistake🙈 there are 2 types of the mk4 supra. The prefacelift and the facelift version. The prefacelift got the side indicator underneath the side mirror and the facelift got the side indicator on the front bunper and you got both. I hope you can make someting out of it my english is not that great.🤣
Is there a reason for using airbrush for the primer and a spray paint can for the rest? Why not use airbrush for everything? Sorry if its a stupid question, Im still new to this
I mainly used BSI super gold Plus. It is a super glue that is safe to use on clear parts. It won’t frost up like the other glues. PVA or wood glue also dries clear.
Question, what exact glue are you using for your headlight and taillight lenses? I'm planning to build one of these but as a 1/24 RC drift body and will just be doing the exterior.
Thank you 🙏 To start building models you don’t need a lot of tools, I keep using the same basic tools(Side cutters, scissors, craft knife, sand papers of different grits and super glue)which work great for me and help me build my kits. If you are only building one or two models, spray can paints will do. I will have a video tutorial on how to get into the hobby on the channel soon.
I must say jun your work on this supra has made it worthy of any (if only in small scale) jdm collection dream car wishes coming true as we know theses days the prices for 90s Japanese sport cars have goting so expensive to the point that rivals modern day hypercars anyway great job on this clean build my friend so see you later bye now. P.S. Oh jun i want to tell you that tamiya has model kit for third generation supra too my friend i hope this intresyou so bye now.
Hi, I have brought this mode kit but in past kits from Tamiya, I haven’t been able to remove the stickers from the backing sheet, how do you do it? And without breaking them in the process too
I usually set it at 14PSI for priming and general acrylic painting. Sometimes I will spray at 18PSI for the final clear coat but 14PSI usually does the trick for me. You can experience different settings and find the ones that work for you. I have seen many modelers set their airbrush at 30 or even 40PSI(they use a lot of thinner and paint retarder).
I usually clean finger prints with auto detailing products. The “quick detail” type of cleaner works well for me. For windshield I usually clean it with micro fiber cloth with a little bit of quick detail cleaning solution.
This is such an amazing build! Wish I can have the same paint quality when using a brush 😂😂 all jokes aside man where did you get those mini accessories like that jack or jack stands or shelves?
Thank you for watching Calvin🙏😊 The tool sets are by Fujimi, it’s the Garage and Tools set and I bought them on Amazon a while back, you can still find it on Amazon or ebay as they will pop up every once in a while.
For beginners you only need a few tools: a pair of side cutters, craft knife, some sandpaper and some paints, basically what I use in the video can be used for any beginners. I will make a scale model for beginner tutorial soon.
