We visit the Ann Van Dyke cheetah center to see the thrilling high speed cheetah chase. Wow how impressive! We also do a tour on the property of all the ambassador cheetahs, blue crane, serval, caracal, hyeana, wilddogs, vultures and even meercats. The zebra and gnu also come to say hello as well as nyala antelope. The most unexpected part was seeing how a wild dog hunt would take place and also seeing cheetahs so close to the safari vehicle.
The Ann Van Dyke centre has released close to 200 cheetahs back into the wild as well as several wild dogs. They are now embarking on an endangered vulture breeding program. My favourite part was learning so much about a cheetah's body that makes them able to cope with high speed, fast brakes and intense heat from exertion.

Wow..did not know there existed such a beautiful sanctuary . The cheetahs are so graceful. All the animals are so well cared for. Looks like a wonderful wildlife outing.
Cheetahs are one of my favourites for how beautifully they can move. The animals here are very well cared for and they release many into the wild - although we don't get to see those so they do valuable conservation work.
It's so cool to see that tail in action, how she whips it to the left when she does that 180° turn!
Hi Kurium, yes their tail is a master piece of engineering to help them change direction and balance and its not easy to see this in the wild so its a treat to be able to see how agile they are.
