Allen’s playing is so inspiring. First saw him demoing Xotic pedals online years ago and instantly became a big fan.

Dang I need to drive however long it takes from NC to see Allen Hinds live, one of my favorite players ever. Allen’s style is so badass, texture and tone that blows me away.

I was hoping he was would head back south like he was talking about in interviews or maybe his videos. Alabama would be an easier drive for sure. The cicadas are calling haha

There’s a well known posted prohibition, but, as seen over the years observed with a wink and a nod.As long as you are respectful, discreet and have a good relationship with ownership, things do get recorded “for posterities sake”.
Certain nights I’ve been informed “absolutely no recording tonight” and at least one other time I was told to “turn it off”.
So, you try to save what musical history you can while not alienating your friends.
It’s their place and rules.

Thanks for recording these videos. I finally went to the Spud last year ( saw Mike Stern ) as a birthday gift from my wife. It was the first time I came down there ( I live in Northern California ). Aiming to get back down to see Allen play live there some day ( his recent Fusion book is awesome! And I love the guy's music ). Awesome post so thanks again!
He also plays once a month in The Cookies at Urban Press & Winery in Burbank
I also got a video or two posted from Mike Stern last December...maybe it was the show you were at?!
@@cohalensadventures5331 I only went to the first show ( maybe the 17th? It was the day before the last FIFA game in December ) and I did see the video of Mike doing Red House ( which he did perform on the first show ). I do have a small clip of Mike playing a solo to his first tune on my channel. Still, love the Spud.

I really have no idea. He has different amps for different venues and they may be different on this video than from the last show I saw him at. (I’m presuming you were referring to Allen’s amps specifically and not Travis or Mark’s)

Great feel ...yes, but the tone would be deeply enhanced with a Strat tone... (think of Jeff Beck on Wired). That early Tele isn't enough guitar.

Tone is in the fingers. This is Allen’s fingers. Sounds fine to me
