I love the way Allen uses his pick to mute the strings. Just because small details make the difference. And most importantly, he is not shredding like crazy as many guitarists are tempted to do. That's a real skill that Allen has obviously mastered. The skill of inhibiting his fingers from running the fretboard up and down purposelessly. He is the man!
"The mixing engineer likes BASS PLAYERS" comment makes me smile. Thankfully he does cos the BASS pops beautifully thru these iPhone 5 speakers. Gr8 playing too. Gr8 band. Gr8 songs. Gr8 share. Thx Allen. pcHux.
Wonderful collection of technical but beautifully melodic and interesting compositions! The man has soul... Pete Woodroffe Music Pete Woodroffe Music Pete
I was fortunate enough to witness this band practice for a small tour with Allan hinds in Norway, the drummer lives in my village here in the Netherlands, absolutely fantadtic
Great player. I dig the way he upstrokes much of his licks. That's a technique I'll have to experiment with more..... than just the more standard alternate picking. Very cool!
Sometimes it's like his right hand doesn't even move. Like he's just magically making all this beautiful music without any effort. I don't even remember how I discovered Allen Hinds recently but I'm hooked now.
@@NelsonRiverosMusic I love drums, but having spent a lot of time in the metal world, it's refreshing to not have the drummer dominate every mix. Still, he's a little too low.
Shawn Lane is dead 13 years.....Hinds is a decent player.....But, will never even begin to scratch the surface of Shawn's brilliance and insight. Shawn's fusion playing, as well as most everything else he ever did, makes it a daily struggle for me not to pawn off all of my stuff. If you think this stuff rocks your boat, go check out some Shawn Lane.....and then some Lenny Breau........I'd almost sell my soul for a musical mind such as theirs, but, then, no..... Thank you, Lord, and thank you, Jesus, for what I have managed to cobble together as a player all of these years. A fucking men!
+availablejones8 I adore Shawn Lane. I've even had the opportunity to hang out with him 2 times. But to say Hinds is a 'decent' player is unfair. Shawn and Allen are completely different players. Shawn's stuff is great, but it does take advanced ears, to get it truly, it takes a lot of the time to get, where as Allen is more palatable. Both are mind blowingly great.
Really? I, and many others (as by most of the comments here) find him very connected and extremely musical. He has one of the softest touches of any player out there. Just curious, who are your top 3 guitarists? Thanks.
Jim Hacker Theres too many to name. I like many different styles but i dont connect with this guys playing style. It doesnt need an explanation or to be the populace pick. Its a raw instinctive judgment from listening and translating. Sure the guy kmows his stuff but a great song that i personally can enjoy this does not make.
Regardless which amp Allen plays, he always got his fantastic tone! Thanks for sharing - Axel
I love these songs:
00:00 "Now really" from the album: "Beyond it all" (2006)
12:00 "falling up" from the album with the same title (2009)
Thank you but can you edit the others please?

How is it that I'm just now hearing of this guy?!?! Super tasty. Looks like he's rather well known, too. Gotta love the UA-cam algorithm...

Allen's a great teacher Just FYI
why is da snare so low in da mix? Nice setting
+Jean-Victor de Boer Thought so too... It's a shame
Allen is Great, no two ways about that - but how about the level of musicianship that these Scandinavian's possess?!
una delicia
Somebody now what is the name of the last song?
What rig was Allen using in this vid ?
16:17😁
What is the song called at 6:43?
What are the names of the songs? Please...
What is the name of the song that starts from 18:34?

I must agree in terms of video. He is grossly neglected and sounds killer.

what armonica brand?
Terrible mastering...tjhis said i'd like to be able to hide the pick as he does without losing it...
Bass is way tooo loud!

I'm a big fan of Shawn Lane, but to say Hinds a decent player? Then why dont you try to play and sound like Hinds, show me how it goes.
This video isn't about Shawn Lane. You should probably have watched one of his instead.

Nope.
Great performance. Shame about the mix.
Horrible post production
I dislike this guitar players style. its so disconnecting and un musical to my ear.
