Maurice has a beautiful rich singing voice and even though I've heard him sing leads within the group, it wasn't until I heard him sing First of May with Lulu that it really struck me how powerful his voice was. I wonder if he was content with his role within the group or did he swallow his own ambitions to keep the peace?

Maurice siempre fue el hombre del medio en el trio de los Bee Gees, sobre todo la etapa en la que Barry y Robin se separaron por estar enfadados, Robin estaba celoso con Barry, quería que se le reconociese su talento en solitario. En ese entonces utilizaban a Maurice para que fuese el comunicador entre los dos. Gracias que al final se volvieron a juntar por su bien y para seguir dándonos su buenísima música. I never understood why Barry was always pushing himself foreword. Robin was like 2nd fiddle and Maurice was like the backup singer. Being that their talent was very much equal, I wish things were more equitable. Especially once Barry "found" his falsetto voice, he kind of took over the entire sound. My personal favorite Bee Gee is Robin (his voice spoke to my soul), second Maurice and last Barry. Even watching their interviews, Barry would just cut Robin and Maurice off mid-sentence and take over the interview - it used to drive me nuts! Still, I love the Bee Gees and always will.
I too wish they were more equitable. I don't think that Maurice was fully appreciated for his talents, humility and humor, by his brothers nor the world. He was multi-talented, instrumentality and harmoniously. RIP MAURICE
That's so true. Barry and Robin didn't appreciate Maurice and in every interview that Maurice gave, he spoke highly of his brothers and their talent. They never did that for him. Barry wanted center stage at all times. If you watch their concert in Vegas, Robin made a very derogatory statement when Maurice was about to sing, Closer than close. He said, "now it's time for Maurice to make a fool of himself." That was so rude and off putting. That is when I started watching all of their interviews and I noticed that they treated Maurice with indifference just about all of the time. At that same concert, Maurice was trying to wipe off Barry's face, just because he noticed his brother was sweating and Barry snatched the cloth from Maurice. The more I started watching ALL of their interactions on interviews and concerts, I could see how they treated Maurice. I HAVE WATCHED ALL OF THEIR INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS. Maurice deserved so much more than what they gave him. Love Maurice. RIP MAURICE. MISS you.
