If you have the 7 and not interested in the very minimal changes to the series 8 it’s not an upgrade what so ever. But if you have never had an Apple Watch the series 8 is pretty damn great. I wish more people included those who still haven’t come along to Apple Watches yet because some are watching to know if it’s even a great choice to make and invest in.

I really wish I watched your video prior to order my Apple Watch 8 that is exactly same as your with the midnight sports band. Had a previous version of the black Apple Watch and loved it. The problem with the midnight sports band is that it look more Navy Blue so along with the black body, it doesn't seem to look right. Had to go to Amazon to buy a black band which is ok. Use my previous Watch black band and it work nicely.
My series 7 (worn in a pool a lot but it's meant for that, allegedly) had the dictation stop working in less than a year. Apple sent me a replacement which had the same thing happen in the same amount of time, at which point I was out of warranty of the original. So if you use it in water, don't get a 7.
I am still using an iPhone 6 for the last 7 years battery health is ‘service’ sound is barely loud so headphones and had to upgrade for sure as most important apps requires iOS 13 and above. Apple iPhone is the one and only which really can hold so long I surely recommend iPhone but some place like mine you can get a entry level at price of pro so Obviously lot costy but worth if you want to use it for long long time just love it and it will love you back.

I upgraded from the series 5 aluminum to the series 8 stainless steel . I thought long and hard about the ultra. The fact I felt I could only wear the ultra watch with casual wear was ultimately a deal breaker for me.
I’m also upgrading from the series 5 aluminum to the 8 stainless steel, mine is back ordered. What color stainless did you go for? I went silver but I was torn between graphite
question... if you get the wifi only option, do the emergency features still work? If you fell or sth happened, I can't imagine it'll call emergency services when it says you can't text or call without having your iphone near you
I don’t see anybody else answering this so I will, you need a cellular capable watch to use the SOS features without a phone nearby. One thing to note, if you do buy a cellular enabled watch but you choose not to pay for a monthly plan, you can still call 911 & do stuff like that (most modern phones do this already, where you don’t need a monthly plan to call emergency services)

Have you tried pairing it with the leather buckle band in black? How does it look? Looking for a more "formal" look but unwilling to go to the stainless steel version since I plan on upgrading regularly.

Dude this isnt even a upgrade coming from the series 7 besides the apple watch ultra every year they look the same with very minimal upgrades I'll be sticking with my fenix 7 solar sapphire

@bigcbee Definitely the new temperature sensor. Although it may not seem to be a great feature now, I think the series 8 is the testing grounds for future watches.

@Eric_grant99. My favorite apple watch feature is the temperature sensor to help track sleep. But I don't understand when would be the best time to charge it if I wear it when I sleep... I guess when I get home from work
@@DionMedia I noticed you said you would do that in your video. I find most of the time I end up leaving it behind if I do that. Maybe I need to move the charging station closer to the front door, there just isn't a good spot to put it
@mjoshss the always on display is definitely relevant and more suited here on the apple watches rather than on the IPhones where it can just probably get a bit distracting
