Matt and Craig, I am guessing that you guys know that Paul Rudd infamously substitutes the Mac & Me runaway wheelchair scene every time he shows up to promote one of his new films.
Sorry, I also meant to mention that Jacob's Ladder was based on the awesome Twilight Zone episode "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge," which was actually a pre-existing Oscar-winning French short that TZ used for one of their episodes. The French short was in turn based on the 1891 Ambrose Bierce short story. It is a surreal vision experienced by a Confederate soldier (I don't want to give anything away if people haven't seen it). It is beautifully done and well worth watching.
this IS the episode where Craig makes the face when Matt says "it might be bad" Thanks Matt! but now i need to know which episode his disappointed sigh comes from
@@samaraisnt that isn't even remotely what anyone said. it's as simple as hey, we can breathe life back into this lump of flesh, but we can't fix whatever's up with his spine, that's just WAY beyond us! man, think.
I loved this movie as a youngster. I remember renting it from Phar-mor, a Midwest pharmacy which hasn't existed for decades. I recently (in the last few years) found it on a bit torrent site and when I watched it I recognized the mom as the diva from Amadeus, an actually good movie I still love to this day. Such an unexpected gem, thanks guys.
How about the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"; not just for the genius of Terry Gilliam but with the memory and friendship of Heath Ledger that ultimately helped complete this movie.
I think I might have to give this Cinema Immersion Tank a test run with No Country for Old Men, my favorite movie. I want to understand it fully, especially after finishing the book. Although I have seen it three times already.
Love you guys so much, the show really puts a smile on my face when I'm feeling down. I always look forward to each new episode~ and Craig my darling, let's watch River Phoenix movies together because he's also one of my favorites
I’ve seen Mac And Me about 7 times, because it was seemingly the only movie my school had in the staff room when it came to end of term. Each teacher would proudly work out how to use the VCR and play it too us as a “treat” and the end of term.
For some reason I stopped watching this (WTTB). Now it's like finding a stuffed wallet in an old coat. I'm so glad this series continues and now I have a bunch to binge. Thanks for the laughs guys.
This has awoken some deep down inside of me. I swear I've seen this movie before and my mind must've just stored it away in the hopes that it would never see the light of day again.
8:00 So this is that shitty movie where that scene is from that Paul Rudd plays every time he's on Conan. I was in tears of horror watching you guys. :) Matt, in answer to your question: Wu-Tang Clan ain't Nuthin' ta Fuck Wit! Pro: The only thing that looked good was that opening space-scape scene. Does anyone know if that was a painting or CGI or what? The background looked cool.
Love me some "Bottle Rocket", it might be in my top ten. I saw it on IFC one night a billion aeon ago before I knew who Wes Anderson, Luke or Owen Wilson were and it changed my life. I had isolated myself from people for years upon years and this beautiful film made me want to reconnect with friends and go on road trips. It holds a very special place in my heart.
13:30 I'm sure the Dad should be saying "You recognize my voice, Hartigan? You recognize my voice, you piece-of-shit cop? I look different, but I bet you can recognize my voice."
This movie horrified me as a child. Mac's puckered duck face and bulging eyes made me just want to smash in his floppy alien head with a brick. I'd rather watch the transformers trilogy in slow motion then subject myself to this film. Thanks for crawling into this dank cinematic anus so I never have to again.
15:27-- here are the pros: 1. Casting a disabled actor in a lead role 2. The soundtrack. It's a pretty good 80s soundtrack. Especially the song during the McDonalds dance scene-- "Down to Earth" by Ashford & Simpson. So yeah. Two pros against a mountain of cons.
We have had this movie recorded on VHS for probably 25 years. I've NEVER EVER watched it, and now, I couldn't be more pleased that I never did. These days, I wouldn't make it beyond the first scene.
Great show as always guys. As a fan of good sci-fi, i hope you do at least 1 non-ironic, non-action, good sci-fi movie. There has to be one Matt hasn't seen.
This episode was one of my favorites because of your commentary. I say you should have a month dedicated to Terrible Movies. You can give a verdict if it was just a bad movie that was in no way enjoyable, or a bad movie which was so terrible it was funny. And I am pretty sure I will get Mac and Me to enjoy making fun of with friends.
I love learning about great movies by watching this show don't get me wrong, there's just something special about when you guys do a B-movie. I just wanna sit on the couch and riff away.
Have you guys ever seen Mirrormask? It came out in 2005, directed by Dave McKean and written (partially) by Neil Gaiman. A lot of people think it's a little hokey, but I've always found it to be really emotionally and visually interesting.
Mac and Me was so bad that even as 10 year old . I realized how awful it was. I think it gave me psychological damage me because I have never been able drink name brand Coke with out a intangible dark sinking feeling in the pit of my stumic .
I was the Hawker in a production of Inherit the Wind and still to this day I do not know why a hawker was even in a courtroom. It never made any sense to me. I didn't question it at the time for obvious reasons but now I can freely talk about how that character made absolutely no sense without putting myself out of a job.
I guess I've done the Cinema Immersion Tank experience--one summer I watched Rear Window every night for almost two months (tho I usually fell asleep by the policeman friend's second visit.
did you know that every time that paul rudd goes on to Conan O’Brien shows the cliff scene but the thing is conan thinks its another movie clip, its funny but the thing is paul rudd has done this for over 15 years! best joke ever.
Mac and me is the most American thing i've ever seen. This is exactly what i imagined 1980s US to be like, sans aliens. Its like a time marker of where it all went wrong, any decline in the us began with this movie. love the show!
Side note: Every time Paul Rudd is on Conan(beginning back when he was on NBC) he always brings a clip from his "latest movie" and every time Conan runs the clip it's the scene from Mac and Me where the wheelchair bound boy falls off the cliff. Paul Rudd is the best part about this movie.
They could absolutely make a decades later sequel to this movie. If for nothing else than having Paul Rudd and Conan Obrien doing a guest spot as news casters playing clips of a kid in a wheelchair falling off a cliff.
Please watch "Plan 9 from Outer Space" it is possibly the worst movie ever made and I really want to hear what you two have to say about it. You guys are great and i love your work so much, keep up the great work guys!
Really fun show! I'm surprised we didn't have Craig choose his own movie to watch alone at the same time for the Cinema Immersion Tank. I love Craig's realization of what he's done. It seems the movie was kind of so bad it's enjoyable. When I think about it, it seems you could watch M&M as an intentional parody of ET and you might really like it. I like the dance scene. That actually does happen in real life these days. Craig knows highways in CA, Matt don't be jelly. I love the `They Live`reference. That was brilliant. Aliens. Consumerism. "Rogue topiary." I like how Mac makes the livingroom into a desert and then just outside it's the same and more vast. ..."never walk again." Apparently, according to IMDB, Jennifer aniston was an extra. Next movie? Abyss? Son of Abyss?
As you might already know, Paul Rudd is famous for jokingly using the clip of Erik falling down into the water as his clip from his latest movie anytime he's on Conan.
I actually remember the McDonald's in my home town of Newmarket having a whole space under it where people would sometimes throw birthday parties. I also seem to recall seeing a Ronald McDonald there on a few occasions a party was happening. I'm not sure why I'm suddenly thinking of it... oh well, I think I'll go get a Big Mac and Coke.
For some reason I enjoyed this disaster as a kid. Still one of my favorite terrible movies that's great to watch with friends and a few beers. It's like one long awful series of commercials mixed with a bad E.T.
Years later I always come back to this one for some good laughs on a hard day 😹
Matt needs to randomly say 'WU-TANG!' more often because it constantly kills me laughing.
More people should be aware of this show
MrRamone420 Agreed

Tough Guys Don't Dance?
☻
I like how they can bring him back to life, but they couldn't get him out of the wheelchair...
old comment, but the actor was wheelchair bound in real life. Perhaps they altered the script. Also, there would be negative press if he did walk.
That would be treating not walking as equal to death. Consider the fact that people, such as the boy, can live full lives even without full mobility.
In reality, this is literally one of the worst films ever made. I just don't like it, its unwatchable and creepy.😆😅🤣
@@samaraisnt that isn't even remotely what anyone said. it's as simple as hey, we can breathe life back into this lump of flesh, but we can't fix whatever's up with his spine, that's just WAY beyond us! man, think.
i love this channel, idk how they don't get waaaay more views
"ya know what I feel like?"
"a big mac?"
"man thats a genius."
Flahoo ? 😂
You guys made my horrible day a little bit better :)
Gr job guys! I'm always excited for every other friday just because of you!
I love this show; I just can't stop talking about this channel.
Love the Les Baxter record in the background.
👌👌👌
And this is why I love this channel.
Fast fact: Jennifer Aniston’s first screen role was in the background of McDonald’s dance scene
also, this might be your funniest episode yet. Great job guys!
Mac's dad is thrusting his pelvis in the direction of the problem! Oooh yeah!
How about the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"; not just for the genius of Terry Gilliam but with the memory and friendship of Heath Ledger that ultimately helped complete this movie.
ChrisKewl And Tom Waits!!
I think I might have to give this Cinema Immersion Tank a test run with No Country for Old Men, my favorite movie. I want to understand it fully, especially after finishing the book. Although I have seen it three times already.
Oh man, i haven't seen this movie in forever, love the show, keep up the great work!

Oh my god I laughed so hard at this one. Another hilarious review, gentlemen! Keep them coming!
For some reason I stopped watching this (WTTB). Now it's like finding a stuffed wallet in an old coat. I'm so glad this series continues and now I have a bunch to binge. Thanks for the laughs guys.
Have you seen Europa Report ??? Very good movie in the sci fi genre and it's not a big budget movie . Great show guys , greetings from Brazil !!!!!
This episode made me so happy!
Your Shining parallels still make more sense than half of what's actually said in Room 237.
I have been watching you guys since the beginning really think you guys are the new Siskle and Ebert! Keep up the good work!
This has awoken some deep down inside of me. I swear I've seen this movie before and my mind must've just stored it away in the hopes that it would never see the light of day again.
Sean Patrick it’s a terrible movie 🍿
8:00 So this is that shitty movie where that scene is from that Paul Rudd plays every time he's on Conan. I was in tears of horror watching you guys. :)

Absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! Died laughing through this entire episode!!!
Love me some "Bottle Rocket", it might be in my top ten. I saw it on IFC one night a billion aeon ago before I knew who Wes Anderson, Luke or Owen Wilson were and it changed my life. That is so perfect I can't even...just props to you friend!
This movie horrified me as a child. Mac's puckered duck face and bulging eyes made me just want to smash in his floppy alien head with a brick.

Believe it or not this movie cost 2.5 million more than E.T. Which proves you can't buy talent!
WHAAAAAT? No way, that can't be true!
Wikipedia.
Adam's Universe THERE IS NO WAY.... THAT HAS TO BE TROLLING.... xD
I decided to come see your latest episodes cause I was still in the second season. Holy crap Matt, You got thinner in the face O.O
haha this episode always makes me laugh thanks guys...
You guys should watch Mr. Nobody. It's one freaky movie that doesn't make much sense starting off but by the end of it you understand it perfectly.
Great work guys!
I really look forward to watching welcome to the basement. The only thing I would change is I would make them a weekly show. :)
This episode was one of my favorites because of your commentary. I say you should have a month dedicated to Terrible Movies. Your reactions during The Scene are the best. I've seen it on Conan and on Obscurus Lupa Presents, and now you form the last part of the holy trinity.
"You're stronger than this movie, Matt..."
"I don't know that I am!"
now i finally understand what two best friends have been referencing so much lately
Have you guys ever seen Repo: The Genetic Opera? Cool concept, really good songs.
Have you guys ever seen Mirrormask? It came out in 2005, directed by Dave McKean and written (partially) by Neil Gaiman. A lot of people think it's a little hokey, but I've always found it to be really emotionally and visually interesting.
Where did you get the MST3K figures?! I must have them!!!
Looking good Matt!
Good call on Bottle Rocket! I have '72 280 SE, too!
You should also play CSI: Miami The Board Game for 5 days straight too since that includes a Challenge Tank.
WU TANG
Laughed and laughed when I saw this episode. You guys should do more bad movies to review.
2:19- Craig's face is a study!
Anytime I come down this path UA-cam's algorithm brings me to this episode
Mac and Me was so bad that even as 10 year old . I realized how awful it was. I think it gave me psychological damage me because I have never been able drink name brand Coke with out a intangible dark sinking feeling in the pit of my stumic .
I was so impressed by Craig's knowledge of highways in California.
I was the Hawker in a production of Inherit the Wind and still to this day I do not know why a hawker was even in a courtroom. It never made any sense to me. I didn't question it at the time for obvious reasons but now I can freely talk about how that character made absolutely no sense without putting myself out of a job.
WU-TANG!!!
-matt 2014
Holy Smokes Matt is looking just damn handsome lately. #oldermancrush
Agreed!
I like him with pudge AND without. Can't go wrong with a cute face like that.
That chest hair though... button up your shirt, Matt!
;)
jk
stevnated Whats wrong with his chest hair!!!
\
Um, it exists? (No, I said I was just kidding!)
Awesome episode yet again ! Mentioning Galaxy of Terror... And Matt you're really loosing some weight, keep it up buddy ! ( trailer park boys )
I guess I've done the Cinema Immersion Tank experience--one summer I watched Rear Window every night for almost two months (tho I usually fell asleep by the policeman friend's second visit.
I had seen the wheel chair down the cliff bit before. I wish it had remained the only part that I had seen.
I loved the Gypsy, Tom Servo, and Crooooooow figurines.
did you know that every time that paul rudd goes on to Conan O’Brien shows the cliff scene but the thing is conan thinks its another movie clip, its funny but the thing is paul rudd has done this for over 15 years! best joke ever.
I remember that this was the first time I saw that Cliff Scene, way before I knew that Paul Rudd uses it to torture Conan O'Brain. 🤣
Hey Matt, what do you have for Blue Oyster Cult in your legendary vinyl collection?
Mac and me is the most American thing i've ever seen. This is exactly what i imagined 1980s US to be like, sans aliens. Its like a time marker of where it all went wrong, any decline in the us began with this movie. love the show!
Hey, I'm out of movies. Know a good movie? Please reply.
Speaking of "They Live," I think I saw George 'Buck' Flower, who played the hobo collaborator, as the supermarket security guard in Mac & Me.
Dammit Craig, I was just about to make that 'doctor says he'll never walk again' joke...
When I saw this movie as a kid it made me feel nauseated, and I don't feel too good right now, either.
They could absolutely make a decades later sequel to this movie.
If for nothing else than having Paul Rudd and Conan Obrien doing a guest spot as news casters playing clips of a kid in a wheelchair falling off a cliff.

I love the `They Live`reference. That was brilliant. Aliens. Consumerism.
"Rogue topiary." I like how Mac makes the livingroom into a desert and then just outside it's the same and more vast.
..."never walk again."
Apparently, according to IMDB, Jennifer aniston was an extra.
Next movie? Abyss? Son of Abyss?
I haven't seen the MST3 robots before, have they always been there? Also shout out to tom servo
The aliens (especially the dad) gave me the same creepy and uncomfortable feeling as the McPoyles from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
As you might already know, Paul Rudd is famous for jokingly using the clip of Erik falling down into the water as his clip from his latest movie anytime he's on Conan.
Have you seen the 2007 David Fincher film zodiac I recently saw it and it gone straight in to my personal top five ps I love the show
"You used to look at a postcard while driving?" reminds me of the 2004 movie Collateral.
Collateral Cab Scene
Sweet MST3K figurines!
There's something very General Zod-esque about Matt's appearance in this video.
Kneel before Sloan.
Yay! Welcome to the basement!
Have you seen Tron? It's one of my favorite Sci-fi movies.
just found this channel. Something tells me i'll be taking a heavy dose of blamesociety over the next few days. This was great!
I never thought I'd ever hear the phrase, "rogue topiary."
Have you guys seen the 1956 movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers?
If any movie needs a reboot it's Mac and Me but it's gotta have EVERTHING and it's gotta be DARK.
You know what else is on Sub Pop? Clipping and Shabazz Palaces, both are awesome.
Is it just me or has Matt lost some weight? If so Nice work buddy! If not, your still looking good so whatever you're doing is working. ;)
Thank you
For some reason I enjoyed this disaster as a kid. Still one of my favorite terrible movies that's great to watch with friends and a few beers. It's like one long awful series of commercials mixed with a bad E.T.
Cool my movie request got onto seen it :D
Scene it? "Source code" I love that movie so much!!
As a person who is himself in a wheelchair I can tell you factually that many of us are into rogue topiary. Its a thing for us.
