CJR III% Liberty Warriors Unleashed I’m an idiot ?? You ever wondered why a nation that was supposed to be full of blonde haired, blue eyed super men was controlled by a bunch of short black haired, brown eyed misfits ? Hitler,Gerbbles, Himler, Hess and Goring were all ugly, short non typical Germans who resembled European Jews more than Arian supermen as they were portrayed. In the end, they were all dead because they were bat shit crazy.

See the story where a British POW escapes from a German ship which has docked in a fiord for repairs. He obtains a Mauser and ammunition, swims to shore and begins sniping the repair crews. As a lone rifleman he holds the entire ship hostage as going topside meant getting shot! Great story. The movie “Single Handed” Sailor of the King.

I was trained by the Army to use the three second rule when moving, they told us you have 4 seconds to live once a russian sees you. So be at cover or conceament before he shoots you. no one since my army days ever taught this concept except you. I dont even think the army teaches this concept anymore due to the war on terrorism.
The three second rule: you get up, one sec, you move to new locations, two sec, you drop to cover, three sec.
Russian: he sees you, one sec, he moves his rifle to your location, two sec. He aims and fires three sec.
Note, there is one second of time differance between you and the Russian, the Russian lags one second behind you giving you a total of 4 seconds for him to make the kill shot.
It takes three seconds for the Russian to kill you, but only when he sees you, and that is his 3 seconds. Your three seconds started one second before his three seconds.
That was how my Drill Sargent explained it to us.

Love your videos Reid. A very long time ago I was given a piece of wisdom that I found applies over multiple disciplines in life and that is "Be careful what/how you practice"! This advice was to remind one that when you are in a real life situation (battlefield, basketball/football/tennis/baseball game, etc) that you are rarely in control of how opportunities develop and, as you stated, opportunities present themselves in very compressed time frames so the best practice is to force yourself into not just compressed time frames for performance but also off balance positions, etc. Again, great video and thanks again for all the great stuff on your site.

Sounds just like what my old country uncle told me when teaching me to hunt, "Get it up, get on it, take it" No panic, no overthinking it. He survived the battle of the bulge, 6 guys from his unit survived the hell, he lead a very simple life when he came back, he could identify every tree, plant and animal in the woods in Eastern NC better than a college professor with just the education from his elders and tobacco juice running out the corner of his mouth...For some reason this video reminded me of him...LOL He would have loved your rooster encounter and handled it about the same way.

This is also why strategical chosing of the place and time of engagement keeps you on the offensive. Static defensives, recessed concealment and light/shadow ambiguity, etc. Are how shooters like Simo Hayha were so effective. Add that to the quality marksmanship of a well practiced rifleman and you have a serious and dangerous battle implement.

I do not have any combat history, but I strongly believe this drill is great for when your position is already compromised. However, if I were to be in an uncompromised scenario, I would place myself in a position much closer in order to eliminate multiple threats in three seconds or less with the element of surprise. Firing at enemies from distances like this who arent also engaged wouldn't be wise at all. This is a great lesson. I just figured I'd add the application to which it would be used.
