I thought the 15 minute video would be too long and unnecessary, but boy was I wrong. I love the way that he slowly progressed in hardness and explained every tiny thing that he did (even the brackets). Thank you sir I have been struggling with this for a while.
7 years later from when this video was posted, why is this just so amazing. I have been struggling with this skill for years and now this is the simple way of doing it. I never really write comments but I had to in this video. I never even understood the triangles. This made it much simpler! Thank you!
I love you!!!! You've helped me so much. My teachers are the worst at teaching science and you have taught me more than what they've taught me for 5 years
I'm a trainee science teacher (biology), and I must say this had made my life a million times easier. I was concerned at how I can make equation re-arrangement easier especially for my mid-lower sets (as well as my top sets) and this is going to be a life saver. Thanks so much. I will pass on your vid to my colleagues on my course. That way, we can ditch those bloody triangles and make life easier for our kids. Thank you so much!
You legend I’ve been struggling with working these equations out for months and I have a test on Thursday. You have saved my life, this is the most simple and easiest thing ever and it baffles me why schools aren’t teaching this method. Thank you soo much!
Hi Chris, I have just used video to help my daughter with her homework. She can’t see why I am so massively pleased about it. Thanks for making this super helpful content. A least one of us was paying attention in school 👍
Dave! Long time! Hope you're well, and glad I could help - I had a particularly good Physics teacher at high school, so I'm glad to be able to pay that back ☺
Big fan mate, if only my professors would explain it like this instead of rambling on for 2 hours on something that they eventually announce won't be on the mid term. xp
Thanks very much, you're videos are engaging, interesting and most of all, down to earth. With other GCSE Science youtubers, it can be quite gruelling to revise or make notes from their videos, and yours makes it easy. Thank you very, very much Mr. Thornton.
This is just brilliant. Our physics teacher told us to watch this for homework and rearrange made-up equations using the provided method, and it’s insanely easy to do. Thankyou
Thank you! I'm a non specialist NQT teaching physics (biologist by training) and my foundation tier year 10 group and me need help with this so please keep doing what you are doing! :)
These videos are extremely helpful. I usually don't like physics lessons at school but your videos are helping me enjoy them. Like you said my teacher doesn't specialise in physics as all the 3 sciences we do with her. she is a good teacher but it would be better to have a physics teacher separate to chemistry and biology. thanks x
These videos are most useful.Usually,I like physics lessons at school but ur videos are helping me and i m enjoying very well...Just Like you said that my teacher doesn't specialize in physics as all the 3 sciences we do with her.
I've been a biology teacher for a long time but have recently started taking one group through all 3 sciences. This has been really useful because I only really knew about triangles, and they're not helpful when you have equations with more than 3 parts!
Omg it is veryyy tiring to cancel numbers just to derive a formula. Then for all these years there is an easy technique to derive formula?!! This is such a great help, thank you very much!! It made my day and life easier :-)
my teachers made this sound soooooo complicated and I’ve always struggled with this. Now I’m much more confident thanks to your easy explanation so thank u so much !
yo thank you sir.. u literally don't understand how happy I am.. I thought it was really hard but when u explain everything it actually pretty easy.. this will definitely help me through out the year
Dear Christopher, I wish you were my teacher and I have spent hours searching this topic online EG. BBC BITESIZE, BBC, SAM LEARNING and As soon I saw this video I told my friends as well to watch this video .....I love you so MUCH MUCH.
Can you please cover gamma rays and radioactive decay as i am really stuck and its not getting in my head. i am waiting for your video. YOU ARE THE BEST AND MY FAV
This video is great, I just got into gymnasium(danish highschool) and I had no idea on how to do this and our physics teacher refused to teach us it because we didn't have enough time. I felt really stupid not being able to do something so simple and most of the other videos on here don't explain it in such a simple way. Thanks for making such a great video.
Hello from Canada, just wanted to say thank you for making the one area in my post secondary education much easier :) however I'm still struggling with longer equations such as ones with addition and subtraction involved in kinematics equations. if you have another video or maybe do one it would be amazing!!
This is amazing. Every high school child knows what this video shows. It is the most simple thing. The worst thing about this video is that it doesn´t explain why equation rearrangement is done the way this video shows. It is a very simple idea: If you have an equation x=y, in order to get another true equation, whatever you do to x you have to do the same thing to y. For example: if you have x/y = z+k and you want what z is equal to, you simply subtract k from both sides (x/y)-k=(z+k)-k which gives (x/y)-k= z. If from x/y=z+k you want to know what y is equal to, you simply have to multiply left and right sides by y to get x=(z+k)y, and then divide both sides by (z+k) to get x/(z+k)= y.
This is excellent! As a new teacher to physics I really think that this sort of resources is extremely valuable to both teachers and pupils. If it is okay with you, can we have more of the same! 😉 Thank you
I have studied in uni 20 yrs ago, biochem physics and organic chem I memorise all the formula , now I am back to study analytical chemistry, curiosity I search youtube found your channel, my life could have been easier. Hahaha thank you just too bad term is ending in about 3 weeks lol 😭😅
I got a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, then went back to university for another year to do a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE). Strictly speaking I'm only officially qualified to teach all three sciences to KS3 level, and Physics to A-Level, however due to staffing and timetabling issues schools I've worked at have often needed me to teach GCSE Chemistry and Biology too. I still have to do more research for those subjects when I teach them, to make sure I'm getting things exactly right, but a lot of GCSE Biology and Chemistry is just an extension of the KS3 work, so it's manageable. I think I'd struggle to teach anything other than Physics at A-Level though.
Sir, I'll have you know you have just solved one of my largest problems with Physics.
Same😂
This is ridiculous how simple you just made that look. Why couldn't my teachers just explain it like this?
Excactly what imma thinking
IKR IKR
EXACTLY
Bro, my teacher made me do 7 steps to re arrange, this right here is an example of a teacher who can do their job properly
@@AllahisGreat90 can you plz tell me how to rearrage difficult formulas
This just shows u how unnecessarily the school makes things difficult when in actual fact could be made simple with good explanation.
100% true.
Changed my life

It's insane how frustrated I was with something so simple. Thank you for making it super simple!
this has saved me on my physics exams thank you!
You're welcome, glad to help :)
Thanks! I love that method, my teachers don't really teach us how to rearrange the formulas they expect us to know how.
You legend I’ve been struggling with working these equations out for months and I have a test on Thursday. You have saved my life, this is the most simple and easiest thing ever and it baffles me why schools aren’t teaching this method. Thank you soo much!

Think about how many lives you have changed just by this lesson. Teachers all should be at your standard. Education is failing, so I thank you.
As a new science teacher (biology specialist) - thank you so much for this video and accompanying resources. I am so grateful!
Big fan mate, if only my professors would explain it like this instead of rambling on for 2 hours on something that they eventually announce won't be on the mid term. xp
GO ON THE LAD
You have no idea how much of a good teacher you are, probably just changed my as applied science grade to go up by about 2 grades tomorrow!!!
+Jess Murray I hope so!
You're actually a brilliant UA-camr Mr. Thornton! Really appreciate you helping out!
Thanks, glad I'm able to help :)
you saved my life and grade. i appreciate your life

I was starting to think I wasn’t going to understand with all the other videos and you just explained it so well!!!!!! Thank you !!! Life saver
This dude just saved my GSCE grades drastically. I cannot believe how simple it is.
This is just brilliant. Our physics teacher told us to watch this for homework and rearrange made-up equations using the provided method, and it’s insanely easy to do. Thankyou
I literately love this man thank you for making my life so much easier!!!!!
Got an A in physics because of you, legend. Would’ve failed if I didn’t start here.
10:48 what if it was {Ek = m+1/2 v} would it be any different? And i know that's not how the equation goes i am just using it as an example.
I cannot describe in words how much this has helped me out, Thank you sir.
Thank you! I'm a non specialist NQT teaching physics (biologist by training) and my foundation tier year 10 group and me need help with this so please keep doing what you are doing! :)
Same here (but doing my PGCE currently). Physics is for "other" people lol
These videos are extremely helpful. I usually don't like physics lessons at school but your videos are helping me enjoy them.
Like you said my teacher doesn't specialise in physics as all the 3 sciences we do with her. she is a good teacher but it would be better to have a physics teacher separate to chemistry and biology.
thanks x
Literally face palmed myself after watching. Why has it never been explained in this way before? Simple and almost intuitive.
This is stupidly simple, absolutely fool-proof. Passing grade here I come, Thankyou!!!
You have Topped up knowledge to help me get the top grade for GCSE, keep up these top grade top ups u r very helpful
+Pete Ralph I will do, thanks!

I love this video so much you amazingly blessed person!
Thanks! Glad you liked it :)
You're videos helped me out so much with my chemistry paper yesterday i blazed through it. Physics will be easy now because of you.
it was soo easy !!!!!
Great, glad it went well :)
This video is still relevant, I've worked at 3 schools and taught my class this method. Now I'm sharing it with my online tutees!
Thank you sooo much! Was tired of all those triangles, you've made these equations look so much more simple.
+Louise Hardman Glad I could help :)
they say nobody’s perfect, yet this man continues to exist
Thank you so much. This video helped so much, I've spent ages trying to figure it out and in 15 minutes I finally understand :)
I've been a biology teacher for a long time but have recently started taking one group through all 3 sciences. This has been really useful because I only really knew about triangles, and they're not helpful when you have equations with more than 3 parts!
you just blew my mind with this line method, makes it so much easier to understand

its actually bill cipher from gravity falls
It's so simple OMGGG . U have solved my grade now in physics!! Getting 5s atm can easily smash a six now !
I wish all teachers could teach smoothly like you Sir without using too wordy explanations. excellent.
Can you please cover gamma rays and radioactive decay as i am really stuck and its not getting in my head. i am waiting for your video. YOU ARE THE BEST AND MY FAV
I just learnt in 20 mins before my GCSE Thank you sooooooo much ❤❤❤

thank you very much, last minute revision for my triple science physics exam. You explained it so much easier! THANK YOU
thank you so much i legit passed chemistry because of you thank you !!!
Great, well done!
Loved it excellent may God bless you and your family.
Thank you!
Great vid! Could you do a video on endothermic and exothermic reactions or chemical energetics? Thanks
P.S. Thanks for the lesson resources.
+Aaron MIX2 I've added your request to my to-do list :)
It's so simple the way you made it sir, would you please transpose Kva=√3vi, where we need to find i ?
First square both sides, so (Kva)² = 3vi
Then you can just move the 3v under the left hand side as I show you in the video :)
wow thank you so much! i was always horrible at rearranging and am taking physics next year so i did some research and this helped so much!
As soon as the supply teacher walked into the physics lesson, I knew I was gonna fail. That was, until this videa. Thank you so much ;3
You have basically saved my exam, thank you
Glad I could help :)
You changed my life thank you
Glad I could help :)
THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH MY PHYSICS EXAM IS TOMORROW
Thanks for the lesson from a teacher. I'll use it with my bottom sets next year
I'll definitely let my colleagues know
Thanks! Glad to help a fellow teacher out :)
Hello from Canada, just wanted to say thank you for making the one area in my post secondary education much easier :) however I'm still struggling with longer equations such as ones with addition and subtraction involved in kinematics equations. if you have another video or maybe do one it would be amazing!!
This man saved my grade
This is a life saver. This helps me so much. Thanks
This is amazing. Every high school child knows what this video shows. It is the most simple thing.
The worst thing about this video is that it doesn´t explain why equation rearrangement is
done the way this video shows. It is a very simple idea:
If you have an equation x=y,
in order to get another true equation, whatever you do to x you have to do the same thing to y.
For example:
if you have
x/y = z+k
and you want what z is equal to, you simply subtract k from both sides (x/y)-k=(z+k)-k
which gives (x/y)-k= z.
If from x/y=z+k you want to know what y is equal to, you simply have to multiply left and right
sides by y to get x=(z+k)y, and then divide both sides by (z+k) to get
x/(z+k)= y.
For the first part, you don't really cancel it from both sides you simply move k to the other side, other than that pretty good explanation.
Thank you so much for helping out, all this got from very confusing to very EASY!
THIS is so helpful, thank you so much for this I also had difficulties with this and thanks to you now, I don't.
+Zane Salti Glad I could help :)
Wasn’t even doing physics but this helped big time thank you 🙏
Could you do a video about the function and structure of the heart please?
+SuperFootballfan365 I've added it to my to-do list :)
can you please do the periodic table?
+Sakib Ahmed I do actually cover a lot of that in one of my earliest videos, here: ua-cam.com/video/hlSQq1TgMUY/v-deo.html
Is that what you needed?
+Christopher Thornton yes thank you I really appreciate that you replied to this comment
This is excellent! As a new teacher to physics I really think that this sort of resources is extremely valuable to both teachers and pupils. If it is okay with you, can we have more of the same! 😉 Thank you
+Greg Kirk Glad it's helpful! Yes, I'll look into doing more of these in future.
Ready for my physics exam tomorow now !
Thank you. You just made it very easy for me and all students

Thank you :) will be downloading the materials, I'm a teacher and will use your method from now on, many thanks
during this video i kept thinking to myself 'please do kinetic energy' over and over lol
It's on my Rearranging Equations playlist, here: ua-cam.com/video/s8pt80LfGuM/v-deo.html
Sorry if you missed it.
You helped me from a big problem. Thanks so much 👍
Thank God, you just possibly saved me from failing Physics.
👍🙂
I'd like to be a science teacher and I was wondering what route you took to be able to teach all three sciences at GCSE and A level-many thanks
Christopher Thornton I'd like to do an aerospace engineering degree-Do you know what they're like?
8:12 why cant you just multiply Q on both sides?
Can you do a video on Transitional metals prior to C3?
+Choudhury Rahman Sure thing. Which exam board are you studying?
VERY NICE method of teaching please explain formulas of physics regarding a level
I feel like I am living a new life now
Wow... I was so confused before this, thank you!
dear Mr Thornton may you please cover a lesson to do with the national grid, physics
+Sheryaar Khan I've added your request to my to-do list.
