I'm very lucky to have seen you playing live in Germany a couple of days ago.
So whether you want it or not, here's my review: You ladies know how to rock'n'roll! Great sound, great show, a set list with a lot of my favourites and also some cool new songs. Overall an excellent performance! You gave us a great show even despite some challenging conditions you had to face (I mean things like the time and the... let's say it kindly... passivity of German audiences. A great band like the Tomboys would deserve a great audience imho).
I've been to many concerts/shows of other bands. Various kinds of punk, garage rock, rock'n'roll, pop-rock, you name it - I can safely say that the Tomboys belong to the kind of bands that sound even better live than on record and that their stage performance is truly captivating.
Not just listening but also realising how skilled all of them play their instruments, how wide Hina Tabata's vocal range goes and how absolutely freaking wild Amechi Sparkle can go on that drum kit (seriously, I've seen hardcore punk band drummers who seem tame in comparison) impressed me a lot. But also the kindness towards their fans after the show (talking, autographs, photos) leaves behind a very positive impression and good memories.
I hope you'll return to Europe and Germany (or perhaps Switzerland?) for more shows in the near future. I'll make sure to be there on at least one of them.
Also: How cute that you like the "Sendung mit der Maus" (the orange mouse and the blue elephant on the postcards). A childhood favourite of mine.
