- I've never hit a rock this big on the road before. It sent the Yamaha R1 into the air and it was a crash and burn after that. The motorcycle caught on fire upon impact with the pavement. We tried to put the fire out but the motorcycle just kept burning. Thankfully I was not injured. What do you think my next motorcycle should be?

At what point does one look at the number of horrific crashes one has had, before concluding that they are either riding outside of their skillset, or, maybe they need to take it to the track where it's a bit safer?

I agree. Nothing wrong with a spirited ride within ones limits but some of the passes are sketchy to say the least. This was an unfortunate accident but always figure if Moto GP or WSBK riders with special tires crash on prepaired tracks on the limit need not to say no more.

A rock or other unseen road hazards can take the best rider down. That's why we wear the gear. A good rider knows it's not if you will go down but when.

Mate you've had the most unlucky year! Obviously I can't see you ride but the footage you've posted over the years shows you have good skill and take calculated risks while riding within your ability. I don't want to jinx anyone you ride with but some of the gang are way more risky and never look as balanced and calm on the bike as you do but they don't crash! If you can get the money together then you should get an M1000RR for your next bike! You seemed to gel with all the S1000's but they are bad luck for you man! Insurance companies by law have to insure “unwantables (high risk)” they have to divide the unwantables between each of the insurances by law so that way everyone can be Insured no matter how bad of a record you got

Rigghhtttt.... Been ripping the Hwy 2 area since the late 80s and never had the thousands of littered rocks and dirt cause me to go down.
How about? The lead rider could have pointed them out (What a ride leader does). Or the actual rider himself could have avoided it (it wasn't moving, it was stationary and easily avoided on a mc). Everyone who runs the Hwy 2 area knows rocks are just one of the issues up there. Place blame for this crash exactly where it should be, the rider. Especially these guys.
