  • During the recruitment process, Cole Euker realized the importance of academics. The 6'3, 280-pound senior from Perkiomen Valley is headed to an Ivy League institution. "Athletics isn't the only thing that can take you far in life. That was my whole philosophy with Princeton. I'm getting a great education while playing a high level of football," Euker told SV Sports' Paul Roberts. He was a first team selection on offense and defense last year in the Liberty Division of the PAC. The (9-3, 4-1) Vikings reached the District 1-6A quarterfinals before falling to Downingtown East 35-0. Euker would love to win a Pioneer Athletic Conference championship in his final season, but he believes football isn't all about wins and losses. "If we grow as a team, not just on the field but off the field, I think that's a much greater goal than anything. That our culture at our program grows," he said. Euker wrestles and throws the shot put at Perkiomen Valley, while maintaining a 3.7 GPA. His twin brother, Carter, is a force on defense. Carter Euker was second on the team in 2023 with 90 tackles. He was named a first team linebacker in the Liberty Division. "We grew up playing sports together. We were on every team together. It's a cool thing," mentioned Cole Euker. The Vikings have a talented secondary including Anthony Rodriguez, Dimitri Toman, and Braydon Perone. Rodriguez made 64 tackles last fall and led the squad with five interceptions. Senior quarterback Pat MacDonald returns after being limited to eight games last year due to an injury. He threw for 841 yards and ran for six touchdowns. Joey Keough and Nate Reedy, both juniors, are key skill position players. Keough caught a team-high 29 passes for 365 yards. He was a first team pick at wide receiver in the Liberty Division. Reedy ran for 663 yards and averaged 4.7 per carry with three scores. Perkiomen Valley starts the season with a bang. The Vikings host Chester tonight. The Clippers are ranked #3 in the state in Class 5A by PennLive.
