I tried this last night in my class during free roll and even though I only remembered about 2 out of the full 50 details I was able to take a guys back because of it. I'm going to drill this and make it one of my go-to's
I remember watching this channel back when I was training, it was one of the best already, started watching again recently, man it has turned out into a gold mine. Thanks so much Professor for the amazing content!
I love that you always give credit to the person you learned it from. Greg Nelaon is a genius! Did you get a chance to learn the amputee from him? Another game changer!!
Thats a cool option, have you ever considered the Baratoplata when they bring their arm on the inside? I plan on playing with that tonight as I explore this position.
I have actually! Someone showed me a baratoplata from the reverse kimura grip a couple years back that I like a lot. It translates really well to this position. It’s a great option.
It may seem weird but i found this sorta grip to be very useful when it comes a russian 2 on 1, specifically overhook on the wrist and underhook on shoulder. A problem that alway happens to me is that the top arm under the armpit slides down. I go for the shoulder clam, but on the person forearm, between wrist and elbow.
Would it be a good idea to simultaneously get your right foot butterfly hook while going for the grip technique you show here? Basically , getting that opposite side butterfly hook in so he can’t easily do the pass attempt (and so sweeping him will be easier )?
Also (as I am studying the Gordon body lock passing instructional right now - would this have any chance of working if the guy does a body lock and goes into a tight body lock pass ?
What keeps your opponent from gripping his hands behind you back after you lock the underhook, he then drives forward, bear hugging & smashing down on you? I tried this tonight & that’s exactly what happened. I was then unable to breath & my underhook arm was trapped between us with his weight pushing down on me. Not sure if I was doing the technique incorrect?
That’s a good question. It’s really hard to, and these options give good responses to different energies the guy might try. Once that grip is established, it’s a pain to deal with on the receiving end
@@KnightJiuJitsu Thank you for your response! I really like your exit when they pass on this one it reminds me a lot of the ghost escape which is one of my favorites. I'm excited to start trying this in class, was just worried what to do when my teammates inevitably start copying it :)

I wanna go try this!!!!!
Hell yeah 😎
You are trueley Gracie Jiujitsu affiliate with your INGENIOUS thechniques ; Much Apprpreciated professor .
This move is the truth! I used it on my professor and he was scared of the follow-ups to this move. It also works on bigger people.
Eli's teaching style is so natural. Keep it up. 🎉
I really appreciate that

Thank you so much. I appreciate it!
Damn this is a position I have never looked at before. Options for weeks! Ossss
i really like this especially for bigger opponents!
Good stuff, More attacks and options from closed guard. Just what my "Old man" Jiu jitsu game needs. Thanks!
Love these options but I need to rewatch it like 5x to catch all the details. As a guard player I love this variation.
Been training 15 years and have never seen this. Just earned a sub.🤙
I appreciate that and love this comment
Never seen that always knowledgeable
Just in time to watch before class. We’ve been working on setups from the shoulder wrap for about a month now
Did you try this??
I can't wait to try this
Excellent content again! Very practical and useful. Thank you!

I didn’t learn the amputee, but I’m super interested now that you mention it!
We’ll that’s something they want be looking for. I like it. You should get the sweep if nothing else. Thanks!
Very cool variation. I will call it the I Dream of Jeannie Shoulder Hold❗
Wow amazing I'll definitely use that on my rolls
Very practical and very useful. Thanks for the quick feedback.
I use this same setup with the rnc biceps hands but more from a butterfly guard position, works very well for me.
THIS-IS-SO-FRKING-GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love this series from guard!
❤️❤️❤️
Sharing with all my students and friends. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you!
That’s slick! I’ll be playing around with that now 😁 Thanks for sharing it!
Fenomenal video !!
Super great instructor

That's pretty nice and slick! Awesome technique!
Thanks for your content! You are my hero! :D
I love this, can't wait to try it!
Really cool material! Greetings from Brazil! Oss!
Thank you. I appreciate you watching from Brazil!
This is new to me ! ! !
Thanks Eli
You the man!
Thanks Carlos!
Wow. Amazing video. Eye opening
Love this!
Thank you!
Great transistions!!🤙🏼
Always great content brother. Was at your Crossville seminar for Shane a few weeks ago. Thank you
Thank you, and thanks for being there too!
I been using this lately in the gi! The friction makes it’s really tight, would be great if you could share some other options past the arm drag 🎉
There’s a great use of it to get to octopus guard, which isn’t included in this video.
Love this. Thanks for sharing great content!
Thanks for watching it!
Thanks Eli, great technique as always.
Awesome Eli! Thanks!
Your channel has being very helpful for me,even tho i forget most of the things you say lol
Top move!
Sweet stuff !!
Awesome 👍😎 techniques!
Sir always too good
Looks good!
I’m super late to this channel. Just subbed!
Thank you so much
OMG!! really really thx!!
I like it ! Thank you
Wtf. This sounds too good to be true! Watch me try this on my coach on Monday and get crushed. 🤣😂🤣😂
Love it!
Awesome

Excellent bjj teacher only u💥👍👍👍👍
Very nice.. Oss!
How about "cross under-hook lock"?
It may seem weird but i found this sorta grip to be very useful when it comes a russian 2 on 1, specifically overhook on the wrist and underhook on shoulder.
A problem that alway happens to me is that the top arm under the armpit slides down. I go for the shoulder clam, but on the person forearm, between wrist and elbow.
With the spot price on gold north of $1.9k an ounce I’m surprised to see Mr. knight giving this gold away!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was shown this lock from standing by a bouncer at a busy city barroom, he used it to Control somebody and move towards the door
Very impressive. Thanks for sharing ! Would this shoulder control more efficient than the shoulder crunch one ?
It’s just another alternate option. Both have their place.
Just in time for no gi night at the gym.
Would it be a good idea to simultaneously get your right foot butterfly hook while going for the grip technique you show here? Basically , getting that opposite side butterfly hook in so he can’t easily do the pass attempt (and so sweeping him will be easier )?
The space isn’t there for the butterfly hook in the beginning and has to be created with the initial lean.
Bas Rutten showed me a similar version of this.
Also (as I am studying the Gordon body lock passing instructional right now - would this have any chance of working if the guy does a body lock and goes into a tight body lock pass ?
Yes because it causes a lot of extra space that messes up body lock pass attempts a lot of the time
What keeps your opponent from gripping his hands behind you back after you lock the underhook, he then drives forward, bear hugging & smashing down on you? I tried this tonight & that’s exactly what happened. I was then unable to breath & my underhook arm was trapped between us with his weight pushing down on me. If he’s putting that much weight on you like that then he’s top heavy - try for the bridge sweep since you have one armed trapped
Nasty
I think that Kit Dale calls this The Great White. Might find something useful there, too.
This is a little different than the great white grip he uses.
❤❤❤❤
Can this work in the GI?
Yep. Everything that works in no gi works in the gi, just not the other way around.
@@KnightJiuJitsu thank you 😊
what the hell is the counter to this as the guy on top? How can I get my shoulder free without getting arm dragged?
That’s a good question. It’s really hard to, and these options give good responses to different energies the guy might try. Once that grip is established, it’s a pain to deal with on the receiving end

I'm 2 years too late, but maybe just stand up to pass instead of knee slicing?
is this good for mma
I don’t think it’s great for mma, but not completely inapplicable
Knight vs Lachlan who wins?
What type of competition we talking? I think I could take him in Connect 4. That’s about it though.
@@KnightJiuJitsu is that Gi?
@@diggocombs4548 - Gi. I would even meet him at catchweight and let him drop his piece first.
@@KnightJiuJitsu i mean, im not Eddie Bravo or anything...
@@KnightJiuJitsu btw this is some of THE sickest back takes ive ever seen!
rất hay 😄👍

Слава Україні, Героям слава!
Love this!
I also feel like there's an available transition to omaplata if the opponent tries to pass, just thinking out loud.
