Im astounded that peopke are still stupid enough to think their dogs are actually feeling guilt??? Guilt is a human construct. The reason your dog acts all coy whennyou confront it re: shoe chewing or mess making is because your demeanour changes, your voice and body language change , as the dogs most commonly use these signals to read us its no rocket science that they will react accordingly... its not guilt you fools, its a mix of things like fear/ uncertainty/uncomfortableness/etc etc! Think your dog understands what you are saying? Nxt time it eats your shoes talk to it the same wat you do when you give it a treat or a hug and replace the words with behaviour questioning! It picks up on your cues not your conversation topic... so do your so called "best friend" a favour and stop messing with its head!
