So happy to find this song again after 20 years, had forgotten about it. Always made me feel good. And I always feel like that "come on spring, do you thing". Dave's voice is beautiful in the background
Alas the Australian media, radio and public are too fucking stupid to grasp talent and art where it shines. Brilliant song, heard by few.. but truly loved.
I really think there's magic in this song - it's got a truly transformative quality - it opens the heart in the most surprising way - it's a gift.. the great thaw ...the heart has a language but you have to thaw it to receive the message
Rising from a winter's sleep, Coming right up from the deep. Shallow pleasures beckon me, Here's my new life - set me free. Feel my tingling skin Outside and within. Come on, Spring, do your thing - What's your story? Come on, Spring, do your thing - Have you got something for me? Guileless, trying out the young Feeling of a strange new tongue Je me lève après un sommeil d'hiver Je me lève après un sommeil d'hiver Knowing what it means Yet how fresh it seems. Come on, Spring, do your thing - You should know me. Come on, Spring, do your thing - What else can you show me? Hibernation's at its end, Old sensations new again, Teasing like some childhood friend Je me lève après un sommeil d'hiver Feel my tingling skin Come on, Spring, do your thing - Don't ignore me. Come on, Spring, do your thing - You've got something for me? Come on, Spring, do your thing - You should know me. Come on, Spring, do your thing - Don't you know you owe me?
Great song. Perth’s Keef Richards lookalike. Don’t know whether he was alluding to Perth in spring time but Spring time in Perth is very beautiful and people come out of the woodwork‘s after winter to enjoy the spring sun.
I remember being in year 9 and seeing this on rage and hearing it on Triple J. My dad has always been a massive fan of Kim’s work and he had massive play on RTR 92.1fm here in Perth back in the day...
I adore this song, and have since it was released. Never fails to make me feel happier. But I never watch the video because the beauty of the song always makes me close my eyes -- sorry Kim!
This hope springs eternal, timeless classic, certainly warrants being available in the high definition in which it was originally mastered - could you please consider re-releasing this masterpiece for posterity - alternately, could you ask the rage curators to include it in a Monday night Vault set, thank you.
@@sophiatemporali736: Wow! I think that the rage Tape Vault (or the digitised version thereof) might be the only home for many a master | broadcast music video for many an artist or group, Australian, or otherwise. It's nearly time for another AusMusic Month. I think it would be a splendid Idea, that in all the ABC channels and time slots that rage broadcasts in (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), besides the Friday programming, all else (including the Sunday Night new music program) is devoted to directing the sunshine of rage curatorial attention upon the neglected, and almost forgotten, vast back catalogue of Australian music videos, any number of which have not been seen for over a decade, just for the entirety of the AusMusic month, of November. And it would be good, when relevant, that they blocked together then, for any Australian artist or band, as a segue of their music videos, in chronological order. Antenna, The Drugs, The Far Out Corporation, and Sidewinder, come to mind, for me - the back catalogue is oceanic - and needs to be re-explored. I am sure any number of Australian artists and groups would be very appreciative, and it would be up to them to engage the rage curators, by their usual, established back channels, to make it happen - it's a logical thing to do, for the AusMusic month of November, when you think about it - here's hoping!
Love this song and the video, remember it from when it was in the Triple J Hottest 100. Last time I searched the net, wanting to see it again, I could not find it. So good to see it again! :-)
This song brings back memories of past times that I missed
Still fresh in 2024, a a Triple J favourite.
One of the most under rated songs of all time. Kim Salmon with Dave Faulkner on back ups...wow.

Great Australian rock song, which gives me shivers up my spine in a very good way. A true masterpiece and that synth in the chorus line, superb.

Una canción tan hermosa que no me canso de oirla. Los años pasan y sigue sonando fresca como la primavera.
One of the best Aussie tunes of the 90s. Thanks!
Gives me goosebumps.. adore this song

Its that park on Bondi Road, on the right, on the the way down to the beach from Sydney.
Is there a physical release I can buy?
This is such a beautiful song xx
Listening to this on September 1st 2020.
It seems the song to be played on this day.
It is.
I love this song..Thanks 🙏🏼
20 Years On, Listening to Triple J when it First came out, Wonderful but Forgotten Aussie Classic.
Waiting for spring at the moment.
This album gets a spin every couple of months around our place.
Super song. Takes me back. This got a lot of airplay on 2-JJJ and 2-MMM.

My Mum shot the video and told me the original tape got damaged so this is the only version left! (I am one of the girls in the white dresses)

Beautiful song........ Come on spring... And it probably will in about 4 months time......
Still remember seeing this on rage at 3/4/5am, as an innocent yr 12 17yo, ahhh the memories
Beautiful
Wonderfully Kim , the Soo talented. With Dave Faulkner, Tex P, Clyde .miss SPJ . Brian Hooper had no discipline. But he had a blast while he was here.
Time is ripe for a new Antenna record!
brilliant...
One of my favorite videos, thanks.
Does anyone know the park it was filmed in?
sevysnape Kings Park Botanical Gardens
Nope. Waverley Park on Bondi Road.
Melinda Page on vocals, can sing!
Who did the string arrangements. Jackie Orzasky?
on par with any aussie track ever
What does the female vocalist sing?
It's French: je me leve après un sommeil d'hiver. I get up after a winter sleep - or hibernation I suppose.
@@pauljordan4452 I got that it was French; I just wasn't certain what :) thank you!
@@detonator82 No worries. She sang too quickly though.
Whoever sang the French did it too quickly.
Lyrics?? C’mon help me out
