Major points said in this! The specifics of safety in terrain parks is always good to share, but what I think is even bigger to share is the fact Casey was aware of his day and his mood. We all have bad days and sometimes the universe throws us a curveball - it's how we deal with that curveball that makes or breaks us. If you aren't feeling it in the park, swap out to stack clip of the homies or go do a solo run to clear your head. Everything happens for a reason! thanks for the LIFE LESSON, Casey!

Hit a terrain park my first time ever today in beavercreek. It was absolutely empty. Looked behind no one was there and I was going over some rollers maybe 10 feet wide and all of a sudden 4 guys came screaming by me and my girlfriend. I wanted to say something but I was outnumbered and didn't feel like getting into an altercation. Watching this gave me hope that majority of people have common courtesy. Thank you.

Cutting the jumps for the rail features is one of the biggest rules I wish more people knew. I’ve caught edges so many times because the rut gets messed up and absolutely destroyed landing on rails. Sadly I see skiers do this more than anyone because they don’t want to ride a rail at all but they want to just jump off to the side. Very common.

Dude, love your mentality on riding. Dropping all kinds of wisdom. Love it.
Also Chicken run was dope AF!

the chicken run! lol but also quick question! As a beginner I used the feature jumps to learn how to take off a jump and lift up.... learned quickly not to do it after the first day from a friend that is an experienced park rider. For beginners that want to learn to jump but aren't ready for the speed of a "small" jump that has a gap to clear and is only comfortable with maybe a couple feet and not launching off a jump made to get air with, what do you recommend those people do? what other things can they practice on? side hits and all that are usually paired with speed so that might not work for some, if not most beginner riders.
This was a question I had when I started but never actually asked anyone so I figured I'd ask here for the beginners that might be wondering the same thing as I used to. Thanks for your amazing content and keep the neck healthy! Been a patreon supporter for a good while now and stoked to hopefully see you out in Tahoe this year again!

I mean at my park there are small ramps built for beginners. Maybe look around at your terrain park for small singular ramps because that's what I did

    • @wangstafro
      @wangstafro 4 роки тому

@@destinseese34 there were none when I was learning. Thanks but of course small jumps with no gap to clear would work.... Should clarify that feature jumps are usually the only small jump spots in parks with no gaps to jump over

take it for the team man! I need to practice spotting the signs of a bad vibe coming and step back and take a breather. It's a real skill, its so hard to do lol. It's way easier to go through the rest of the day grumpy and pissed off, but thats no way to be. FOR THE DREAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Its the same concept for college campus board riding. People swerve all over the place on their board and pedestrians likewise will crossover to the other side of a wide sidewalk without checking over their shoulder.

I didn't know about not going off the side of features and sticking to the rut. I just hit a park for the first time and was totally doing that lol. Never again! Thank you for the info!

My tip for personal safety to new riders hitting features: do your speed checks early, not right before the takeoff.
If you are going to do a feature, either 100% commit or don't hit it. Straight and more speed is generally safer than a speed check right before the lip of a jump.
Also watch out for spinning too early on the lip when first learning spins, good way to catch an edge and get broke off if you aren't careful.

damn bro, i gotta say, yes youre great in the park, creative tricks all of it but the most impressive to me is your board control. You seem to just toss that thing any friggen direction you want haha and always stay upright. Ive been riding for years and i still have a long way to get where you are but im impressed.

    GREAT AWESOME DOPE VIDEO BRO!
Started hitting my first rails a couple of weeks ago at Granite Peak, and the stoke is real!
last weekend, i made the point to get super early and was stoked to hit the rails, i saw a kid with a rake and a board
before the feature, while riding the lift, yelled thanks for making it dope, and was ready to send it.
I hadn't watched this video yet... unfortunately 😂
Hit the rail super weird, with the kid very upset... i apologized and felt super bad about it.
Thanks for the tips bro, i'll keep those really in mind before hitting the terrain.
    Shred oooon!
