I always like watching this great SRV performance. Been a fan for decades. The man was simply magic with a Strat. The intensity of the guitar playing in this song is paranormal.
SRV had a great desire to leave it all on the stage in each performance. His band Double Trouble is overlooked because Stevie was so prolific. Stevie in this song does a call and response repeatedly from his guitar to his voice until the two become one seamless instrument. Recognized consistently as one of the top three or top one of all time.

his take on chitlins con carne has always been my favorite. Also i wore the VHS tape of Riviera Paradise down to nothing, playing it over and over again
He was using a Wah Wah pedal and a full set of "pedals" to obtain that sound which was pioneered by the late great Jimi Hendrix in 1968 ... that was 52 years ago and the world has never been the same. That being said , the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan brings another dimension to this song and yes he is considered to be one of the best to have ever played an electric six string. They're both jamming together in heaven now ...
You wanna react to his version of the Hendrix tune called "Little Wing" at the El Macambo...and He's doin that with what's called the "Wa-Wa pedal".....and what's even cooler is that that particular Wa-Wa pedal once belonged to and was used by one of Stevie Ray Vaughn's (pronounced Von, like Don) idols, the legend himself, Mr. Jimi Hendrix....SVR is arguably the greatest guitar player, of any genre, to ever walk this planet....

Check out, Stevie Ray Vaughn, "Look At Little Sister" live In Austin, Texas. It was 2 wah wah pedals that made that unique sound on "Voodoo Chile". He has a cool trick towards the end of the song, "Look At Little Sister".
It was a sad loss the day he died. I still remember actually where I was , when the announcement came over the radio. I know everyone has their favorite guitarist, but my is SRV and Page. They have a certain tone that set them apart for me.
I remember exactly where I was too on August 27 1990 too. On vacation with my ex and daughter in the Pocono Mountains PA. It poured rain all week and I told my young daughter it was tears from heaven. ✌💜✌
You havent seen anything yet till you see Texas Flood or Little Wing from live at El Macambo!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏please..your jaw will drop to the floor like everyone else who has seen it for first time lol💞💞
Watch his Little Sister video. He breaks a string. His stage hand switches out the guitar while SRV is still playing. He never misses a beat! Smoothest transition ever.
The best way to remember Stevie's name is to say "Stevie Rave On." Say it all together and you've got the pronunciation for Stevie Ray Vaughan. Oh, and the thing that he used was a wah pedal for the wah-wah sound. And when he bent down, he was taking the high end off his pedals for specific parts of the song. Stevie could very quickly edit the tone on his guitar. You saw him adjusting the knobs on the front of the guitar throughout the song. In my mind, Stevie was the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth. He started learning to play at age 7... and it showed.
I could rattle off names galore, but the truth is, there is no “ best “ guitarist,....period ! Picked up my first guitar at 7, formed my first band at 14, and started playing large venues at 15. Played professionally for a couple decades, and have been out for a couple decades now. It takes a natural born musical ability, constant practice and creativity. I’ve always found the most amazing musicians are highly creative, truly have fun with it, and are self taught. Yes, many highly educated musicians may seem creative, but that’s just because you don’t pick up on their mimicry of others. The more you play others music, the harder it is to be truly creative. It’s hard to shake training, but if you’ve never had it, everything comes from bits and pieces you pick up, put in your own creative voice. There is no, “ can’t, or, shouldn’t “ be done. The world is your oyster until someone, or something restricts your creativity. It’s not in the genre, however, metal, and more particularly, thrash metal has no boundaries like other genres have. They utilize everything. Every technique, every style, reshaped to form the most creative music ever created. Think on that, strictly blues people ! Stevie was awesome, but not the greatest guitarist to ever live by far. No such thing exists !
Another great reaction, I've only just come across your channel today, please you need to do a reaction on Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King together it's an unreal jam. Good luck with your channel pal 😉 P.s to pronounce Stevie Ray Vaughans name you must keep the g silent and it's say it with only one syllable

Everybody has a favorite player but Stevie Ray Vaughn ( pronounced Von ) was the GOAT! totally different level his guitar was an exstention of himself as one.
I love that you picked up on the drummer! Just as with Hendrix, his drummer ties the soulful chaos of Voodoo Chille together.
I know where I was- Alpine Valley- just watched him play. Aug 26th, 1990.
Karen Sketchley the sky is crying 😟😚💕love ya Stevie Ray Vaughan.
@@joreeves9175 yeah and I Can't Stand the Weather !!✌💜✌
I cried like a child. A child, man. And again after the posthumous album came out with Life by the Drop
I love to watch people see Stevie Ray for the first time. Pure genius.
Anything from his live performance at the El Macambo, especially "Texas Flood" you will NOT be disappointed.
Vaughan rhymes with dawn. SRV is the GOAT. Such an amazing, natural talent. RIP.
You havent seen anything yet till you see Texas Flood or Little Wing from live at El Macambo!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏please..your jaw will drop to the floor like everyone else who has seen it for first time lol💞💞
He's known as the master of the stratocaster. There's no one better.
He took what Jimi left and made it his own. And Sine van argue even Better. One of 2 alive who can argue for the Spot
Jimi can
SRV is absolutely favorite!!!
he's the GOAT...RIP Stevie
He was never lost on a guitar... never
SRV combined technical excellence with incredible feel...he played from some other place.
Been waiting for you to do some Stevie Ray.
He even does his own version of Mary had a little Lamb and it's fantastic. Anything by SRV is GREAT.
Great reaction! You ain't seen nothing yet. He ranks as the Goat!
Your reaction was awesome. I do that every time I hear him.
Check out “Little Wing” live from El Mocambo. Epic!
the combination of those fingers and those strings are why we have a statue of SRV down here in teXas.
Stevie live at the El Macambo will smoke you!!
Stevie shredded with a clarity and precision unseen in ANY other guitarist.
Please do a reaction to Tin Pan Alley live with Johnny Copeland. It’s legendary
I swear those long sustained notes at the end gives me chills every single damn time man
It pretty much comes down to SRV or Hendrix as the GOAT guitar 🎸
But Jimi wrote it......too.
SRV is the 🐐
Rhymes with fawn... Stevie Ray Vaughan... I was at his final concert... My all time favorite guitarist. I'm glad you found out about him.
In answer to your first question. It is called a wah, wah pedal.
Robert Price most likely a CryBaby
I think he was using VOX.
Jimi Hendrix is the greatest by far.
Love to watch you younger guys discover the players I grew up with. Stevie Ray is the best
Lots of people will recommend some shredders to listen to on here when they see this. I can tell you don't waste your time. SRV waaayyyy better.
Agreed...Page and SRV! Best 2 guitarists there ever was!
Damn right Stevie was Amazing, if I could choose a player to play like , oh yes SRV.
No way shredders!! You’re 100% man dont waste your time, SRV a beast. Got the vocals and can play.
No such thing exists !
yep
VooDoo Child is a Jimi Hendrix cover. as is Little wing
Check SRV at Austin City Limits "tightrope"
From this same Concert (Live At Austin City Limits), check out "Leave My Girl Alone".
It'll rip your soul out.
Jimi Hendrix
Listen to him. His music for sure. 😊
Another great reaction, I've only just come across your channel today, please you need to do a reaction on Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King together it's an unreal jam. Good luck with your channel pal 😉
P.s to pronounce Stevie Ray Vaughans name you must keep the g silent and it's say it with only one syllable
love me some SRV, def one of the best. He died way to soon, mid 30's, from a plane crash. rip srv!
the pedals, he used the foot pedals to get that sound. a remake of the Hendrix tune of the same name. Check this link out. he breaks a string during a live concert and switches out guitars while singing and doesn't miss a note. SMOOOOOTH!

Briar Patch ...helicopter crash I think. I was in my mom’s living room when I heard the news. Same place when I saw the news on John Lennon.
Helicopter crash in East Troy, Wisconsin August 1990
Came close to losing Clapton that night too, but he was aboard a different helicopter; his manager and his body guard were also on the doomed chopper and killed alongside SRV.
i think it's great the way you dig the music and comment without stopping the flow with pauses ! rock on!
RIP Stevie
Watch Live at Macombo. He was the GOAT no doubt. Lucky enough to see him once before he died.
You look and you will find where he plays this behind his back!
Hendrix played his guitar behind his back and with his teeth
Stevie Ray Vaughan is ranked #12 on Rolling Stone Magazines Top 100 guitarists.
Everybody has a favorite player but Stevie Ray Vaughn ( pronounced Von ) was the GOAT! totally different level his guitar was an exstention of himself as one.
Stevie Ray was incredible, what a legend
Tin pan alley with Johnny Copeland
I love that you picked up on the drummer! Just as with Hendrix, his drummer ties the soulful chaos of Voodoo Chille together. Stevie was a master of guitar with sense enough to keep the best backup band in the business with him. If only Hendrix made the same decision, who, knows..... RIP Jimmy and Seivie.... Miss you both, each and every day.
