Always love a classic single player game with TONS of options, no microtransactions, fully complete at release with no bugs and brilliantly optimized. You just don't get many games like that nowadays.

I'm waiting for the ewoks to turn up and for Odin to claim Loki as his son and for baldur to be resurrected and discover his love of making great doors. So much so, that he can't help singing and then everyone gets in on it and then they all wish everyone a merry Christmas while performing a poorly choreographed knees up ... I guess

I’ve noticed there’s way more humanoid enemies aside from the Draugr this time around. I’m super pumped to take them on!
Very simple combat, feels very hack n slash and dated like a PS3 game.

Digital Foundry made an excellent point about this game...GoW: Ragnarok is multi-gen (PS4 & PS5) but its their opinion that this actually benefitted the game as opposed to being PS5 only. They say that the game has so many options because of the multi-gen availability. Had they gone PS5 only, they might have bumped up the graphics, but they also might have limited the frame-rate. Because its available for PS4 also it allowed them to maximize performance on PS5 which includes a locked 60fps mode & even a 120fps mode.

I was an instant fan of bear mcrary and I’m sure I’m spelling wrong but after watching battle star galactica shows soundtrack was wow beyond beautiful. This guy is a pro after battle star he does music all the biggest shows on Apple and HBO. He’s huge now and he well deserves it.

I’ll be playing on PS5 but as one of the last cross gen titles this really will be a swan song for the PS4 and what it is capable of. I’ve had the 5 since launch but as much as people complain about cross gen titles, it’s the reason why we have more 60 fps titles especially at higher resolution, and it has given PS4 players the ability to play all of these great first party games, save for a couple like Rift Apart, Returnal, and Demon’s Souls, for the past 2 years. And now that PS5’s are becoming regularly available, it won’t he lack of supply that holds anyone back from the new gen.

Must be in a small majority here, but I dot rate it. It’s quite repetitive and I’m bored of it: I think the 2018 GOW just nailed it. This just feels meh 🤷🏻♂️

Gonna have to go patient gamer on this, since I do not have a working system that can run it :) yeah, my PS4 Pro got hit by lightning a couple months ago. And I prefer to play games on PC anyway; That's how I have the first game, which I also beat on PS4 Pro! But I'm going to making a concerted effort to beat it all the way through again, because I love the game so much.
If anyone has not seen the Sony-produced documentary called Raising Kratos, about how the God of War reboot/sequel came to be, you owe it to yourself to take about an hour and a half out of your day and watch it. It's really wonderful.
Another great video, Kharak! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to playing this game when its exclusivity runs out, however long it takes.

I'm about 15 hours in and I'm loving it, my only issue is to avoid spoilers there is a solid 3 maybe 4-hour unskippable section that slows that pacing, it isn't bad, just really really slow, I'm about done with it but aside from that no complaints

Nope, the exact same simple hack n slash combat that felt dated back in 2018. Lo
TBF though, people love GOW for the story and it's characters, the combat is just there to you get through the story.
@DogTown Combat in 2018 is still amazing, which is why Ragnarok kept the combat loop with improvements and quality of life changes.

I do not like the portrayal for Thor and Odin, the big hitters and then they turn up and just come across like a couple of two bit hoods, not mystery, awe or power. Just disappointing.

Things I never payed attention to before I do now do because of you. This was a great review but I feel like I shouldn't have watched this as there are some scenes that I wish I found out myself in the game.
This is on you. It isn't a big deal.
This game should be the bench mark of what games being developed right now on both console's should be aiming for with FPS, resolution modes ect..
It should be the benchmark for triple A big budget games. Not every studio has the talent and resources. Santa Monica probably has a massive bugdet with the full force of Sony studios to back them up if needed.

@@bigpoppa3999 almost every studio developing triple A games have the same budget or even more, since most of the studios that develop triple A games are owned by very big companies who have the resources needed. Its funny that smaller studios can deliver superior games than some huge companies with much more resoruces

Saw an article where Sony head stating that PS exclusive single player games would not release in PC within a year of it's release. So i guess, they would release it in a year or 18 months max. PC gaming market is big, they don't want to loose out on it i believe!

So glad they actually optimized it for performance mode for 4 Pro. Many dev have dropped it ever since PS5 came out.
