The industry keeps justifying to me to wait a year or two before buying games. I’d prefer to wait and get the “complete” versions of games. I’ll wait another few months and get it at discount, too. They keep double dipping, I’ll keep waiting.
Honestly it's the same price at the end of the day, whether you got it last year or all this year, since the upgrade is $20 for PS5. I consider it justvan xpac with graphical update 🤷♂️ but I can understand the annoyance
@@ObligedUniform That’s not the issue I have. It’s the issue of buying the game at release only for a newer, shinier version to be released not too long after. So if I’d bought it at release I’d now have a choice: either stick with an inferior version or pay to upgrade. That’s double dipping, in my opinion, and I’m better off waiting for the best version to come out.
@@iNoScopedMLK Add in the fact that the price have only just gone up. If prices had gone up earlier it would be $70 for original release plus $20 for the upgrade. As opposed to just the $70 I pay for the upgraded version now.
Funny point, I just opened and cleaned my ps4 slim for the first time yesterday...now that fan dosen't run absolutely all the time, as it did. When I pulled the top off: a spout of air and dust literally shot out! Looked like I was opening an Egyptian tomb.
I just got Ps5 version today. Although, my PS5 has a fairly loud rumble noise. Thank god it isn’t constant like the PS4 Jet Fighter that I used to use. I actually think I’m going to look into buying some good gaming headphones with surround sound. Does any1 have any recommendations? Preferably wireless
I knew there was a reason I didn’t do a second pass thru this game and here it is. All goty deserve a second or more play through. This review further justifies the 40+ hours for this one
Love the 3D audio finally upgraded to the PS5 version because of the Duelsense Edge (back buttons) for dodging and staggering love this game and expansion I play on LETHAL with in game sensetivety on the highest
The $10 extra for the upgrades for features I bought a PS5 for still feels a bit like Sony giving me a Nintendo consumer gouge but the expansion looks great.
@@dayonerecoverdub3626 You also literally get an Expansion. Which seems to be getting forgotten in all this. An expansion is 20$ for almost all games. So in reality you are paying 10$ for an upgrade. Seems fair to me. I do not know why as a gamer, I would expect the Iki Island Expansion to be given to me for free. Plus the game is great and I can not wait to play tonight. That is just me though, to each their own.
The upgrade should cost nothing imo. The expansion, sure, charge the 20...but the upgrade should be free. That is one thing Microsoft does better is give those upgrades (99% of the time) to their players for free. Not tryin to start a console war...I own both...just sayin I wish sony would take a page from micro when it comes to that.

So glad when a reviewer knows how to pronounce Tsushima. And as always a worthy review that helps me along in my decision making. Thank you. But this time it's a bit more difficult and that has more to do with my wallet than with the DLC. If I want the full experience (and I do) I have to pay 30 euros. That is half the price of the original game. That is a lot compared to the content and time I will get back. So my gaming budget won't let me now but when there is a discount I would gladly pay half and have an amazing time replaying GoT and it's expansion.
Love the game but I think it kinda sucks that on top of paying full price for the game we have to pay for a upgrade I’m cool paying the 20 for the directors cut since we get Iki but another 10$ just for a few more ps5 features
Definitely understand that. Though, the thing is the graphical upgrades (the frame rate and load times) were kinda already provided for the PS5 for free in an update. You’re not just paying for graphics, you’re kinda paying for a new controller upgrade as well. While the Xbox you kinda get 1 upgrade with the PS5 it’s around 2 and in some cases 3. I personally think 5 bucks would’ve been the better way to go, but 10 doesn’t really hurt. Could it be better if it was free, sure, but I personally don’t think 10 bucks is too bad. I hope they don’t go over that, but for now it’s not really bad in my opinion, on top of a whole expansion, 30 bucks is kind of a steal if you ask me lol.

The Dualsense stuff Is.pretty cool. Subtle. For example, play the flute or do some haiku, the song will be in the vibrations. You can hear it through the vibrations. Horse galloping, Jin running, depending the surface, you'll feel and hear the difference on each surface. And much more
@@MMACinephile - it’s subjective so it’s not like you’re objectively right 🤪. I love souls games but find nioh 2 is more challenging than dark souls, has more customization, and has more dynamic combat.

People don’t mention clip selection in video reviews as much but man I feel like this video showed every possible aspect and quirk of the gameplay you’d experience in game vs just showing the same action/exploration scenes over and over, I was constantly being surprised by this review

ACG always delivers with the most informative reviews 👍 The shamans remind me of the witches from the Legends expansion that heal your enemies... Nice to see that they're always building on what they've done well in the past to enhance gameplay I gave away my ps4 copy of the game to a friend but may end up double dipping on this for ps5 once the price drops enough (though with the scarcity of AAA ps5 titles atm, it may take a while)
Still 50/50 about getting ps5 version vs just getting the dlc for the ps4 version. The 60fps mode playing the ps4 version on ps5 was already really good. And not adding the updated lip sync as a patch is a very odd choice. Either way, very excited to play the dlc
Idk how true, but apparently the Japanese lip sync is AI generated using ps5 exclusive hardware. But probs still could have been a patch when playing on ps5 with the ps4 reason. Who knows-I just know that was not happening on ps4.
The lip syncing has something to do with PS5's ability to render cutscenes in real time. I'm not sure how this works or what it means exactly, because I'm pretty sure PS4 also rendered cutscenes in real time, but the devs said, in order to make Japanese lip syncing available on PS4, they would have to re-render every cutscene with that in mind.
In fairness the lip syncing being exclusive to the PS5 is because the cutscenes are rendered in real time, rather than being prerendered. The file size for adding another version of every cutscene to the PS4 would've been huge apparently, and rendering in real time wasn't possible because the cutscenes were used to mask loading times. I agree with being 50/50 on getting this though, I usually don't care that much for dlc and $30 is steep for the marginal improvements they made for the PS5 version. It's a shame, as I was pretty excited for this, and it should definitely have been free

Oh man those Shamans really do look like they offer an amazing difficulty boost that I’ll enjoy, this whole expansion has had me excited to dive back in (lost Count how many times I have now) to the world of Tsushima and this review has me even more hyped

Was really looking forward to see what you think of the expansion/directors cut. My PS5 is becoming a paperweight and I desperately want a reason to play it, hoping this hooks me back into Ghost.
So this setting, based only on your review, sounds like it would have been ideal for a Kurosawa-style affair where you'd see Mifune play both sides, or, help the villagers only to get an ending such as in the Seven Samurai. I kind of wish, after hearing that, there were some branching paths of choices, a la The Way of the Samurai. Might have been more interesting than taking on 4 more camps and story events. Still, I would like to possibly get it at some point, even if I wish for another Way of the Samurai. Great review as always!
I just got my PS5 yesterday, so I'm seriously thinking about buying this again for that. I thororoughly enjoyed it on the base PS4, so it'll be interesting to see on PS5.
Definitely worth the $20 upgrade for DC for new content. As far as PS5 upgrade.... ehh slightly better resolution (2160 checkerboard instead of 1800), haptic feedback, and much better load times are worth the $10 to me but not really necessary
The PS4 started with a bang (Bloodborne) and ended with a bang (GoT). I still can't decide which of those two is my game of the generation. I'm just glad they exist.

This game was my favorite of last year
If you haven't tried Nioh 2 yet, it's an amazing samurai game from last year. It's challenging and the combat is incredible.

You need to get the directors cut first and then you will be able to get the PS5 upgrade from what I understood

The lip syncing has something to do with PS5's ability to render cutscenes in real time. I'm not sure how this works or what it means exactly, because I'm pretty sure PS4 also rendered cutscenes in real time, but the devs said, in order to make Japanese lip syncing available on PS4, they would have to re-render every cutscene with that in mind.
In fairness the lip syncing being exclusive to the PS5 is because the cutscenes are rendered in real time, rather than being prerendered. The file size for adding another version of every cutscene to the PS4 would've been huge apparently, and rendering in real time wasn't possible because the cutscenes were used to mask loading times. I agree with being 50/50 on getting this though, I usually don't care that much for dlc and $30 is steep for the marginal improvements they made for the PS5 version. It's a shame, as I was pretty excited for this, and it should definitely have been free

Oh man those Shamans really do look like they offer an amazing difficulty boost that I’ll enjoy, this whole expansion has had me excited to dive back in (lost Count how many times I have now) to the world of Tsushima and this review has me even more hyped

So this setting, based only on your review, sounds like it would have been ideal for a Kurosawa-style affair where you'd see Mifune play both sides, or, help the villagers only to get an ending such as in the Seven Samurai. I kind of wish, after hearing that, there were some branching paths of choices, a la The Way of the Samurai. Might have been more interesting than taking on 4 more camps and story events. Still, I would like to possibly get it at some point, even if I wish for another Way of the Samurai. Great review as always!

Definitely worth the $20 upgrade for DC for new content. As far as PS5 upgrade.... ehh slightly better resolution (2160 checkerboard instead of 1800), haptic feedback, and much better load times are worth the $10 to me but not really necessary
