Draw on, Sweet Night, best friend unto those cares
That do arise from painful melancholy.
My life so ill through want of comfort fares,
that unto thee I consecrate it wholly.
Sweet Night, draw on! My griefs when they be told
To shades and darkness find some ease from paining,
And while thou all in silence dost enfold,
I then shall have best time for my complaining.
Exquisite. From a golden age of English music.
The golden age indeed! Having been introduced to the madrigal over 50 years ago at university in the second year history of music course, it continues to be a source of great enjoyment. Well done Voces8!

It's like christmas in july. Overwhelming.
The perfection of Voces8 - no single voice ever dominates - precisely clipped consonants - no vibrato - each singer hearing the other seven - no need for a conductor - but intensely rehearsed, and performed.
There really aren't appropriate adjectives in the English language to describe this kind of singing. The perfect pitch, the blending, the diction, the vocal control - does it get better than this? I don't think so. Thank you, Voces 8!!

As I've said in other comments, you create some of the most sublime vocal chamber music I have ever heard. Having said that, may I make a comment? Your videos in which you sing for memory are superior. It was so wonderful and unusual to listen to singers who don't have that barrier between each other and the audience. When music is memorized the musician knows it more completely than when not.
