This is my favorite local trail, close enough that I can ride my MTB to it, which is a huge bonus. I like taking the connector to Almaden Mine Hill and climbing the grade there, excellent views and workout!
I ride this trail Wed mornings, early. I follow your path except at "Right to Bald Mountain and back" I go straight there. Out to the road and then to Canada del oro. Up Longwall canyon and then back down to San Vicente. About 26 miles and one of the funnest singletrack descents around. I ride a 90's vintage Ti hardtail. Great bike for this trail.

Nice ride, keep those vintage bikes going. I love riding through the shaded canopy up in the single track.
Thanks for posting this video. I tried Rancho San Vicente today. What parking lot / entrance did you start off in?
Your welcome. It’s called Rancho San Vicente parking lot.
@@BikeTeacher could you please post a link to a Strava or All Trails maps of your route?
Is it green in that area year round?
No. It’s brown once the rain stops. Roughly May to November
Is this gravel bike friendly or just MTB?
Yes, very gravel bike friendly. Little to no ‘embedded rocks and roots. No drop offs or step ups. The single track is smooth like the the fire road.
I’ve ridden my CX bike there a few times.
@@BikeTeacher Thanks
It is absolutely gravel bike friendly, I would say preferable since the trail is so smooth.
