I’m so happy that you started creating - you’ve inspired a lot of people to not only make content, but to advocate for better and more public transport and learn to appreciate the little things in life! Congrats on 250,000! 🎉
For years I scoured the barren wastelands of the Internet for forgotten London allotment videos. Finding none I despaired and was lost. And then the clouds parted, the trumpets sounded, golden light rained down from above, and the Geoff Marshall channel came forth, and it was good.
When I ask my son what have been his highlights of his life he always says the same things. Birth of his sister, first game of football for a team, and meeting Geoff. He might not watch your videos any longer, but back then you were his Tiger Wood or David Beckham. Great work Geoff keep it going.
Great story, Geoff. Thanks for sharing that with us. Also, I can tell you're working on your editing. This video reminded me of the Casey Neistat vlogs. 👍🏼
The Casey Neistat influence jumped out at me, too. This was a very interesting video, as I have wondered about your journey to get to this point. Now I know!
Been watching you in one form or another since 2004. You were kind enough to send me a CD of "Tubeman" that you had done & good to see you around on YT. In 2007 I travelled through all Underground Stations at the time but over a few month period. Something I havent done since. Cheers Geoff & Congrats on the GOLD UA-cam Play Button.
I did a study abroad program in London over by Hyde Park back in 2005. When I moved back to finish school in NYC, I couldn’t stop thinking about the great memories I had over in London. On UA-cam there weren’t a lot of videos about London other than walking videos, then I stumbled upon the Londonist channel and been a fan of your videos. It’s truly amazing that one photograph led to your journey to where you are right now I am super proud of your growth.
Geoff, you're such a kind and genuine guy. I've been watching your channel for many years and really admire your passion and dedication. Wishing you all the very best and all the success on UA-cam and in real life.
Those secrets of the tube videos were how I found you Geoff and you were the one that converted my into a train enthusiast! Congrats on 250k subscribers! Keep up the good work
I must say, this was quite the video! Your story of how you gained a following is really interesting! In fact, the Londonist videos on the tube were the first videos about transport that I watched on UA-cam. And since 2020, I have gotten into your content! You have been a massive inspiration for my own channel, as your real life railway content really intrigues me and I wondered on how I could replicate it into Roblox games, hence some of the knockoff geoff-style content on there. 😂 Since then, I have gained a bit of a following myself and even after meeting you on that Autistic charity zoom call back in February last year, you've been a massive inspiration for what I do and I just wanted to say thanks! Keep up the great work!
Gotta say a big thankyou for inspiring me to explore... I randomly decided last year to visit every station on Northern line, i took a pic of a roundel at each one and a photo of station. I then found your channel and decided I was going to do the same for all the other lines. So now I have visited every station on Underground, DLR, Croydon tramlink and recently the overground... So big thanks... Now maybe I should perhaps do the buses... 😁
Been watching Geoff since 2016 and ever time he uploads I watch. There are so many things I’ve seen on this channel that I want to go and see and try out 👍
I found this channel four years ago when I was preparing for a trip to London. I enjoy this channel because it lets me virtually visit places that I otherwise would not get to travel to, given that I live in Alaska. Thank you for the hours of entertainment!
.... I dont have any interest in trains, the underground or transport, I'm here for the infectiouss personna of Geoff and his presentation style, story telling and productions values. Great Stuff indeed.
Great channel. When I saw ‘secrets of the Tyne & Wear Metro’ dropped I thought, ‘he’s up on my patch and this will be a car crash’. Turns out, the next day on my commute I am telling the random bloke beside me about the old Felling signal box! Keep it up Geoff 👊
Congratulations Geoff! I relate to your videos because I worked in the UK from 2008 to 2011. During my time there, I’ve discovered First Great Western, Oxford Station, Bath Spa, Paddington Station, St.Pancras, the Eurostar, and obviously, what was really marking for me…. The Change At Didcot Parkway !! Congrats again and best regards from Montreal 👍
Thank you Geoff. We still remember the day when we met you in person at Battersea station station. We love your content keep it up! Thanks Milo & Peter
Just "brilliant". It really comes through on screen that you enjoy making the video's. Please keep them coming and well done on reaching over 250k subscription's.
That's a great story! i started working for TfL in 2014 and coming from another country, I watched all the "secrets..." available at that time to learn more about the network. Been following you ever since and hope it will keep going for a long time. Take care.
A huge inspiration Geoff - thank you for sharing your story, for not taking no for an answer and for filling the void of underground/railway content on UA-cam! I first encountered your channel as a convert from the aviation corner of UA-cam. Now, your videos have become a staple of my Friday evening, end-of-week wind-down! Keep em' coming!
Proud to be one of those quarter of a million. I first started watching you on Londonist after meeting my (at the time) long distance partner to brush up in my knowledge of getting around London for when she came to visit, having only been through a handful of times as a tourist or changing at Euston. Since then I've caught up with All the Stations 2017, followed you with the Ireland and Isle of Man series and watched your many travel hacks and least used stations videos. I've also since married said partner, moved to the USA and introduced her to your channel as I try to keep touch with life back home through family and your legendary videos. Thanks for the journey and look forward to seeing how yours continues!
Hey Geoff, I've followed you since you made the Londonist video on Brixton's wooden market barrows in 2016. Thank you for your enthusiasm which you share with us so freely
When you make videos about something you are interested in and love the enthusiasm comes across. Even if you are not particularly interested in the subject that passion shows and still makes it worthwhile watching. Thank you.
I might now be living outside of London but memories will always return when you are filming in east London stations. Keep up the good work and many thanks
Geoff - what previously might seem very unexciting for many, you have presented the London Underground, in the same way as David Bellamy did for his study of plants, in the 1972 TV Series, 'Bellamy on Botany' - extremely interesting and very watchable ! Excellent editing, timing and soundtrack . . . 'where to next' I wonder - underground stations around the world !
Been watching Geoff since discovering him on the Londonist channel back in 2013 when i was five. Its so interesting to hear your story after watching you for the majority of my life lol. Anyway, congrats on 250k 🎊.
Geoff, thank you for this video and all the work you have done creating videos for UA-cam. You videos along with All the Stations really helped me through the challenges of the pandemic and elsewhere in my life over the last couple years. I also appreciate this video for the insight you provide on what it takes to get started with producing for UA-cam. I, like many I suspect, toy with the idea of creating my own content and I find myself failing to realize that there is a massive difference between “toying with an idea” and actually putting in the substantial amount of effort required to create something truly interesting and engaging. I am humbled and grateful for your efforts creating the stories you do. For now I will continue to focus on railroad bridge engineering, but perhaps one day, I will stop toying with story ideas and focus on creating a few myself.
hello! aah, how lovely ... thanks for taking the time to comment so nicely! it is indeed a lot of work and effort to do it properly and make it work, and i'm still trying to get better and improive. it's a hard slog - just like any other job!
Excellent, Geoff! I am fairly new to UA-cam, and doing some prep for a nascent channel. It's slow progress as it's a big commitment, but 'Just Do It' should be my credo! Thanks for all the entertainment, you are the best videographer I've ever seen!
Geoff I am watching this video some two years after you first uploaded it and I did watch your Londonist video`s and did wonder how you first started on here. You background history is quite interesting as well. I can now see how you have progressed onwards from the Londonist to making videos for your own channel. Two years down the line(pun intended) I can see you are doing very well and long may you continue.
If I'm not mistaken, some of Geoff's videos mysteriously disappeared from Londonist and they reuploaded all they could find, but there still are some missing. Now that you found the tapes, perhaps there's the possibility to bring the lost episodes back? Love how you did this story as an immersive retrospective. Looking forward to more of your story... much more!
THANK YOU Geoff, for all of the stories and videos, I was a long time commuter 1974 - 2002 and loved all of the secrets of the underground and now bore my family as and when we go on the tube with all the hidden underground trivia
I look forward to visiting London again one day,(all the way from Sydney Aust). I found your channel only because YT reckoned I would like it. YT were correct. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Geoff, you’re an inspiration. You inspired me to become interested in trains and even email Londonist with my ideas for films. I’ve lived in London 2 years now and your videos prepared me for life here.
I found the secrets of * videos of yours first and later searched for what else you hade made and liked it so of course I keep watching every thin you publish. I would LOVE to see an updated “secrets of” series. I have only spent a short day in London in 1999 and never went on the underground. I found that your videos is a way of seeing London whiteout actually going there. Your request videos and the least used series is the same way. I would like to go just so I could get to explore al of the secrets myself but watching your videos is the next best thing so PLEASE DO NOT STOP.
You're welcome Geoff, I really enjoy the channel. I started with all the stations (very hard to top) and watch everything that goes up now. Keep telling the story please!
You are just THE most likeable chap who loves trains and manages to convey that across to us, the viewers. The only bad point is that I wish sometimes your videos were a bit longer 😉 Congratulations.
I remember seeing your early videos on the Londonist channel. They're great and I love trains, too. Now I immediately watch any new ones I spot - it's bound to be interesting!
What a BRIALLIANT video, Geoff! 🤩 It answers so many questions I had and you very clearly had LOTS of fun editing it 😄 Thank YOU for sharing your interests, knowledge, and abilities with such passion! May your own story continue for a long time 🤞🏻
This is one of my favourite channels. This is my favourite video of them all. It is kind of like a love story. A really positive feel good well done video showing just how well done you have done, and it's deserved. This particular video makes me fall in love with London again. I used to work on the railway and it ended a bit badly, but I still regard it as the best job and time of my life - even despite of doing night-shifts every five weeks with 24 hours to turnaround at the end for a 6am start. On one hand, I think you could work for a major film studio (Hollywood-esque) but you are better than that, as are your videos. Maybe set-up your own video studio in sync with Google/UA-cam. Give Google a percentage for their backing but keep thr majority of everything yourself and take all the money yourself. Well done.
Lovely to see this. I've always loved watching your content and it's truly fantastic to see that you enjoy making it as much as you do. Keep on being wonderful.
Well done, Geoff and can I just say that me and I'm sure many others really appreciate the effort you put not only into the production and editing of your content but also the research and knowledge you share too. I met you back in 2019 at East Croydon station too which was a nice surprise, keep up the good work!
We need to thank you for all those videos, Geoff. (And again thanks for signing my books at the London Transport Museum.) Even for someone who lives outside of the UK, those are very interesting.
A great history of your channel Geoff. I do like your videos, I find them very intresting. But I must say, in my opinion, the best one you ever made was "Choose Corrour". The emotion in that film was brilliant. Please keep making them.
Great video, great story, Geoff. Your content is superb, your presentation always fresh and exhilarating. Please continue doing exactly what you do. Thank you.
Thank you Geoff for the many years of entertainment! I too started with your "Secrets" videos on Londonist and then moved over to this channel once it became your main focus. It's great that public transport channels like yours can grow to such sizes, and in your case it's extremely well deserved! The editing, the shots, the pacing throughout, and of course the subjects make each video engaging, lively and very much worth watching. With your tube challenges and "All the Stations" you have definitely written a unique story for yourself already. All the best and here is onwards to 300K and beyond!
Hi from America. I worked abroad in London in 2005 and loved reliving my days spent on the tube through the secrets of the underground series. I actually have a copy of that DVD, probably one of the few copies on this side of the pond! Keep up the good work Geoff!
Hi 👋🏻 Geoff. Congratulations on you 250k subs 😀 It goes without saying your channel is a fantastic railway information channel with great content with some light humour thrown in 🤣 Onwards and upwards 🤩
I'm a huge fan of your channel Geoff but the subject matter is only part of it, it's the way your enthusiasm and passion for that subject matter comes through that makes your videos so appealing and your backstory confirms that. Long may you continue.
As a newbie to London and as someone who works in transport planning, I'm so glad I found your channel! Congrats on the subscriber milestone, I hope to see it hit 1 million some day :)
I've been watching this since you posted the Victoria line secrets and then the others that you did ... and I have made sure I've seen every video since then... I will admit .. I was doing this at the age of 8 .. and I'm still watching your vids to this day .... keep going Geoff.. you can hit 1 mil
Loved it, Geoff. Thanks so much for sharing, and for all of your incredible videos over the years. You are a brilliant, brilliant storyteller. Here's to many more videos and subscribers!
I started watching your videos back in the Londonist days as well, and then moved on to your channel when you began regularly uploading new content. Shows how persistence and following your interests can lead you places you'd never have thought possible. I've learned a lot more about the Underground and UK rail in general from your UA-cam channel, and that in turn has led me to subscribe to other transit channels on top of it. Thanks Geoff for all the work you put in making these, even while navigating a pandemic, and here's to more in the future!
Thank you Geoff for all your amazing content,I truly love seeing when you have new updates and it was great to have a video focusing on you for a change Keep creating new stories :D
I’ve followed your channel and londonist for over 5 1/2 years and I have seen your remarkable rise and I hope you get to 1 million subscribers soon. Keep it up!
I discovered you in 2015, when searching for how to get from Heathrow to Kennington, I came across 'Secrets of the Picadilly Line'. the rest, as you say, is history. Man, I've bought heaps of All The Stations merch and books. Call the police, there's a madman around!
I'm 99% sure I found you because of the Secrets of the Underground series around 2015 and been watching for the past 7/8 years since still to this day one of my favourite channels, and now you're at over a quarter of a million subscribers, congratulations and an amazing video! Maybe reaching 1 mil by 2023? ;)
Geoff, congrats on reaching 250,000 subscribers-and yes, I’m one of them since I think 2018! I came aboard with the Secrets series of videos you did for the Londonist site, before I knew about the … craziness? … of both “All the Stations” series, and also I saw the U.S. series you posted (good night, it’s been nearly thirteen years since then?!?!). Since then I always wait to see the next video, if nothing else out of curiosity. For what it’s worth, some questions about future videos: - What’s up with the construction-destruction?-at Euston station (the expansion for HS2). - More of the request stop videos? - Corrour (again?😁) - See what’s happened at some of the stations you visited in the “All the Stations” series, particularly those that were having service issues in 2017 (I recall one station lost its pedestrian footbridge to electrification of the double line, yet they only were getting one train a week each direction, for example) - What would you like to see the Underground or the national rail network go next-whether it’s reconnecting/connecting or extending routes, new stations, etc. But whatever it is, I’ll still follow from the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Cheers!
Wonderful video Geoff; I’ve been enjoying your videos for a good few years now. I started my own channel about London’s history (robslondon) in December 2020- you were of course an inspiration- and although I can only dream of achieving the success you’ve worked so hard for, I can safely say that making videos has given me a renewed purpose in life; the support (as you’ll certainly know) from viewers is incredible and truly humbling. Keep up the fantastic work!
I clicked like on this video before it had even started playing and didn't regret it at all. Great story of how it all got started for you. I lived for about 3 years in London when I was younger and have visited once since then. I love seeing all the improvements being made to public transport around London and can't wait to come back to visit again. I know sometimes going above ground is quicker but I still love riding the underground.
Very interesting video, thank you. I have been watching your videos for quit a few years and have enjoyed them all from the other side of the pond! Keep up the good work.
Can't remember when I first found your channel but I'm so glad I have. There's just something about your presenting style and personality that really draws you into the stories that you tell, often around a transport network I visit perhaps once a year! Proud to have been just a small part of this journey representing the Bakerloo line on the human tube map video. Here's to the next 250,000 subscribers and many more years of wonderful content.
I’m so happy that you started creating - you’ve inspired a lot of people to not only make content, but to advocate for better and more public transport and learn to appreciate the little things in life! Congrats on 250,000! 🎉
Hey! RMTransit has entered the chat!
When are you two doing a collaboration video?
I look forward to when you both can do a collab. :-)
Looking forward to both Recce and Geoff making a collaboration 😀 🙌🏽
Patiently waiting for that livestream 😂😂
Waiting for a collaboration between you two! You’ve made us Canadians proud !

Yes its the music style, and editing with the beat of the music
thanks MIchael! that was a lot of work/effort to make that ... yup!
The Casey Neistat influence jumped out at me, too. This was a very interesting video, as I have wondered about your journey to get to this point. Now I know!

Geoff, the editing on this is absolutely stunning! (The story is also very, very cool.)
thanks Rebecca, very kind. it took a lot of time/work yup paid off tho!

I'm recovering from illness and watching a lot of UA-cam. So pleased to come across this channel: so wholesome.
I hope you are better now x
I really like the style/editing of this video Geoff, would love to see more like it. Congrats on 250k!!!
Been a viewer since a child around 2013-2014. Proud of you Geoff 🙂
You’ve been giving me geek-gasms for almost a decade. Thank you.
So you've "arrived" at platform 4?

Geoff, you're such a kind and genuine guy. I've been watching your channel for many years and really admire your passion and dedication.
Wishing you all the very best and all the success on UA-cam and in real life.
Wherever Geoff is in the tube, we know he will have 15 stories to hand....
Since then, I have gained a bit of a following myself and even after meeting you on that Autistic charity zoom call back in February last year, you've been a massive inspiration for what I do and I just wanted to say thanks! Keep up the great work!

A Geoff video with all the Geoffshots! Excellent work, sir! May UA-cam still be around when the Elizabeth Line finally opens.
Well done on your subscriber milestone Geoff! Your passion for London and the railways is truly genuine, truly a modern heir to John Betjeman.
As a Canadian, thanks for upping Margaret Atwood: 'a word after a word after a word is power'. your story is great

Geoff, wonderful to hear your story and great to see it all started in Walthamstow (kind of).
Geoff Marshall you are a star! Thanks for what you do, please keep doing it.
What a BRIALLIANT video, Geoff! 🤩
It answers so many questions I had and you very clearly had LOTS of fun editing it 😄 Thank YOU for sharing your interests, knowledge, and abilities with such passion!
May your own story continue for a long time 🤞🏻
Thank you for making us the viewers part of your wonderful story!
I met you back in 2019 at East Croydon station too which was a nice surprise, keep up the good work!
thanks Adam, very kind!
We need to thank you for all those videos, Geoff. (And again thanks for signing my books at the London Transport Museum.)
Even for someone who lives outside of the UK, those are very interesting.
Thank you.
A masterclass in video making and storytelling! Thank you Geoff
One of my always go to channels, never a dull uploaded.
Been watching you since the start, been loving your stuff since the start!
Thank you for the amazing videos you have made Geoff. A brilliant story.
Long may you continue.
thank you Geoff, been watching since the early londonist days, may there be many more videos to come!
As a newbie to London and as someone who works in transport planning, I'm so glad I found your channel! Congrats on the subscriber milestone, I hope to see it hit 1 million some day :)
It was a pleasure to watch your story. Keep the videos coming matey!
Thank you Geoff for all your amazing content,I truly love seeing when you have new updates and it was great to have a video focusing on you for a change
Keep creating new stories :D
I’ve followed your channel and londonist for over 5 1/2 years and I have seen your remarkable rise and I hope you get to 1 million subscribers soon. Keep it up!
Many happy memories watching your videos Geoff! Here’s to many more ☺️
I love you and hope you live forever so we can hear all of your stories.
Thanks for all the lovely videos Geoff! I used to live in the UK for 7 years and had taken countless train rides...
Congratulations on the 250K mark. Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you so much for the wonderful story.
For what it’s worth, some questions about future videos:
- What’s up with the construction-destruction?-at Euston station (the expansion for HS2).
- More of the request stop videos?
- Corrour (again?😁)
- See what’s happened at some of the stations you visited in the “All the Stations” series, particularly those that were having service issues in 2017 (I recall one station lost its pedestrian footbridge to electrification of the double line, yet they only were getting one train a week each direction, for example)
- What would you like to see the Underground or the national rail network go next-whether it’s reconnecting/connecting or extending routes, new stations, etc.
But whatever it is, I’ll still follow from the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Cheers!
love your content. Hope your channel continues to grow.
Amazing that you still have the original tapes! I think we’d all love to see some ‘unseen bits’ from them 😄
Very interesting video, thank you. I have been watching your videos for quit a few years and have enjoyed them all from the other side of the pond! Keep up the good work.
Wow! Loved that story. I have watched you since you uploaded secrets of the victoria line. Thanks Geoff for all the amazing content
