I grew up in the mountains and went to a little Baptist Church. It was a great church that preached the Bible! Thank You God, Thank You Very Much.
I and my family were listening to your songs almost everyday. Thank God, people are inspired through amazing voices, and the inspiring message of the songs. Praise God to your gifts
I truly believe this song will forever change your life....if you listen and absorb the words, they will challenge your mind and.....set you free for all eternity!
Hello 👋. How are you?
Hello beautiful 👋 hope you’re good??
This song always brings back good feelings & memories of my going to church with Gramma and just being around my 'down Home' family whenever we visited
Hello ✋dear how are you doing
26 years married in a few days....and this is our song! Love it!
This is a great Gospel song...this type of music should be played in every church now .
Hello how are you doing today?
Carl Jackson has to be one of the most gifted musicians on the planet. What a voice and his instrumentals are unmatched.
There's a little mountain church in my thoughts of yesterday
/ Where friends and family gathered for the Lord
Where an ol' fashioned preacher taught the straight and narrow way
/ For what few coins the congregation could afford
Dressed in all our Sunday best, we sat on pews of solid oak
/ And I remember how our voices filled the air
How Mama sounded like an angel on those high soprano notes
/ And "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder I'll Be There"
Looking back now that little mountain church house
/ Has become my life's cornerstone
It was there in that little mountain church house
/ I first heard the words I based my life upon
At the all day Sunday singing, with dinner on the ground
/ Many were the souls that were revived
While the brothers and the sisters who've gone on to Gloryland
/ Slept in peace in the maple grove nearby
Looking back now that little mountain church house
/ Has become my life's cornerstone
It was there in that little mountain church house
/ I first heard the words I based my life upon
Looking back now that little mountain church house

Wow
Still gives me goosebumples... every bit... every solo, every harmony... the total is much bigger than the sum of the parts...
Agree! God loves unity amongst His followers, and I think it is very well on display here! Some amazing pickers, but each trying to compliment the other....all for God's glory!

IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THIS OLD MAN SING THE WAY HE DOES, HE HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE IF YOU DON'T SEE HIM, YOU WILL NEVER THINK THAT HE IS OLD, CONGRATULATIONS, I BIT HE STARTED WHEN HE WAS VERY VERY YOUNG, HE HAS AMAZING VOICE, I PUT IT OVER AND OVER BECAUSE I LIKE HIS VOICE.
Hello👋🏼how are you doing?
When you are in God, lts only the body that grows old.
Hello ✋ Katherine how are you doing??
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard, and the band could not sound better!!!!
I agree.
Yes for sure
If you are here with me, congratulations, you know the true meaning of choice when it comes to music
Still shaking my head. One of the most expertly conceived, written, and performed songs I think I've ever heard. Amazing Carl simply amazing!
Great song, great picking, great voices, great fiddling, great message as well..what else can we say? It doesn't get any better,
Do not consider myself a country fan but good musicianship is just that...and this is some serious bluegrass country.....Carl Jackson is the real fuc^ing deal....
Never really listened to bluegrass before, but this is beautiful. What a great voice. 🇮🇪
how can anyone not like this and give it a thumbs down. I truly feel sorry for them
+Ned Kline I didn't vote down, but come on. Would a cowboy hat kill the guy...really!
+Ramon Navarro Why doe he need a hat. The music is fine by itself.
john allison
Good music...bad head.
Some have hair and some don't.
john allison
Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against his bare head. Problem is, neither does he! He's been in show biz since he was a kid, he knows very well that he should either wear a hat, or sell ad space. He probably just has an idea, or an attitude. I like the guy.
Carl Jackson is one of the very best singers around. His range was far greater than most peoples as well as wonderful voice.

Great song great singing .I am almost 82 years if I live to the 10th of March . I said that to say this . I remember back in the 40s n 50s that the Disc jockeys would play a few songs then play a gospel song . Love to hear the songs of praise. But these days the songs we loved to hear they don't play any more . Thank you for keeping it country n bluegrass
Wish you many more years brother... I understand you though we are worlds apart.

630 thumbs down, maybe those lost souls didn't have A little mountain church... That being said simply stellar job on this classic gospel standard.
Who knows! This is a gift yo my raras, brain and soul, but some people preferís bachata. I dont understand them, neither they understand us
They just don't make songs like this today. It's a shame what passes for country now. This is real country.
AMEN TO THAT!!!

Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
That's just about as pure and beautiful as a song can get. You can see the reverence the other musicians have for the song, and for the performers
Carl is from my hometown, Louisville, Mississippi! Such a great talent, and a true southern gentleman in every way! Very proud of him!
You certainly have not lost your brilliant playing and singing Carl. You are simply great to listen to. xx
Some of the best songs you ever hear are found by accident on UA-cam and this really is one of those songs. Fantastic!!
Carl Jackson is a true gem!!!! Put him a class with Vince Gill and Alan Jackson. Great!!!
And Jimmy Fortune
He is Alan's dad.

Amen, we need more little mountain church houses with old fashioned preachers!
Amen! Not these big buildings that God never intended to happen and the higher degrees that include how to swindle folks out of their money!
I've had the luxury of meeting Carl at my Grandmother's house in DeKalb, MS for Christmas Eve Dinner on multiple occasions... Such a talented musician and very down to earth guy... GO CARL GO
What an blessing to meet Carl. I love his music.
*I'm so glad i grew up with the Best Music Ever!!*
Carl Jackson should do more of these gospels. This is about the best I've heard in many years. It is just so inspiring.
His voice is so clear! I love it
Carl Jackson, a true legend, from Lousiville,Ms. Carl spent forty some odd Yeats with GlenCampbell, starting with him when he was barely out of high school.
È uno dei chitarristi di musica country più bravo perché suona una musica armoniosa e meravigliosa perché tutto questo proviene dal tuo cuore e dall'anima che c'è in te. Grazie mille ciao.
Hello Sergio
Awesome music and harmony of your instrument. ;❤❤👍
How in the world have I not heard of this incredible artist???
Carl Jackson's musical career began in childhood. At the age of 14 he was invited to play banjo for Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys, one of the most respected bluegrass bands at that time. After five years with Jim and Jesse, Jackson tested the musical waters elsewhere before landing a job with Glen Campbell. Jackson remained in Campbell's band for 12 years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Jackson

Not only a great singer but also one of the best guitar pickers ever, not to mention he went on the road with Jim and Jesse playing banjo at the ripe old age of 14.
I still LOVE listening to Stuart Duncan play the violin~ He can play the style of the deepest bluegrass and turn around and become MOZART....He IS BRILLIANT.....yet he has always remained so HUMBLE~

Something about this tune and carl jackson that is just perfect. Although I have hundreds of tunes of all variety, jazz, pop, guitar, etc. bookmarked, I keep coming back to this particular video just to listen.

A marvelous gem of the bluegrass kind written down by Carl Jackson whose art simply leaves me stunned. The more I hear it the more I wanna hear it... and it's true I feel I were there sitting first row, all ears watching this fabulous trio performing. Must you believe it manages to draw me to tears, love it! Congratulations dear friend Carl! Greetings from your Brazilian friend and admirer Taquinho Noronha.

May of 2022... still a great song. Not many mention the expert vocals of Mr. Paul Brewster. Listen to him sing, Kentucky Waltz, you won't regret it!
I have commented on this song before but I keep coming back and every time I hear Carl hit that high note it hits me. The singing and playing here across the board is so awesome, I only wish I had his pipes although I sing, play and have music up here. Just awesome. By the way, I do not mind that Carl is chrome-doming it. I can't stand the wanna-be-cowboy-hat-crew that play pop country music today. Really, its just terrible and lacks any kind of authentic soul, spirituality or whatever you wish to call it. Amen and thank God for this type of talent and spirit in the world. Six million views is about 1/2 a billion short as far as I am concerned.
The best song👍👍👍👍👍💘💘💘God bless🙏

My dad and I played all those great gospel songs and still do today in our little country church in Watertown Florida.
