Also check Apocalypticists by Kriegsmachine, especially first track, especially around third minute. Some crazy drumming shit going on right there. People said that Darkside plays different signatures with his feet and both hands, 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4. I don't understand what that's mean, but I love it. Another project, same guys, and the band plays on

BTW: Maciej (Darkside) used to be a Xylophonist, therefore he's so good with cymbals I guess.
Now I kinda want to take some xylophone lessons,lol! Really cool how he can translate the melodic aspect of that instrument on to the cymbals here. All the respect ✌️

I can second/third/thirtieth this.
If Mgla is the commercial product of Polish black metal, Kriegsmaschine is the TALENT product of Polish black metal. Residual Blight by Kriegsmaschine is an entirely different animal. Darkside is the drummer's pseudonym; his stage name. But his nickname in this community is "the Octopus". Residual Blight by Kriegsmaschine brings out the real Octopus in Darkside. It's unlike anything you've ever listened to from a drummer's perspective. This man specifically went out of his way to craft entirely original drum beats that will blow your mind. You will not regret it. One of the rhythms was so challenging that Darkside himself posted a UA-cam video recorded by someone's phone on how to play that specific Rhythm. The cover by Kevin Paradis of the entirety of Residual Blight is worth the watch.
I highly recommend.

Oh, I wanna say, it's so difficult, what I want to see more - surprised reactions or amazing drumming play, but it became my hobby to watch reactions to Darkside playing, but everytime I'm supposed to concentrate on watching playong. He's amazing

I just found MGLA a few months ago. Absolutely love them. Very much a “wall of sound” sound to them, in a very good way. Fantastic band through and through.
I had a hard time getting into Black Metal in general, but with Mgla and a couple of other bands it eventually just "clicked" with me.
This is the only song from the album, there're not blast beats, how I remember, but he had drummed this song so unusually 🤘

Oh absolutely...in my old band,the leader tried to make me wear stuff for "style points" and i was having none of that,lol.
@@JohnG_YT Well, there's always room for compromise depending on the band dynamic. The rest of the guys in MGLA are dressed in leather jackets, jeans and boots. The drummer kept the hoodie and the covered face but ditched the jacket and switched the jeans for suit pants (skinny fit) which are breathy and comfortable. And the sneakers instead of boots of course. One has to be practical when it comes to live performances. Sure it's theatrical to be dressed in outrageous black metal regalia like spikes and barbed wire, several bullet belts covering your body and two claymore swords on your back. But if you can't play because of the outfit then it's all for naught.

@@JohnG_YT atmospheric elements do repeat themselves but not the melodies of bass and guitars, and not with the drums. They are constantly everychanging even when one section is being repeated just after

This guy plays very nice but it is not something wooow, he is able to fill up the air with any possible crash and tomtoms...

Uhhhh...Why would i need to prove anything to someone i don't even know?No offense. I come from more of a classic hard rock/heavy metal background ,so this stye is quite fascinating (as you say woow) to me. This is just a reaction and commentary. not me doing a cover.
