    Bobby, just invest in some black corregated drain pipe and run your discharge hose inside of it, cost effective in the long run over replacing hose.

    Like the idea of running that problem section through some form of hard conduit to protect it

    Just run a hard pipe to your supply. 21/2-3” will allow you to fill just as fast. Bury it 8-12” under and leave the end sticking out at the pond. (Underground guy here) hire me and I’ll do it 🤣🤣

    Why don’t you replace that section and run the new hose through some PVC piping

    Use PVC pipe local Ace hardware home Depot Lowe's or you could repair that hose with a coupler

    See if a bicycle inner tube repair kit will fix the holes thats used to working on flat tubes.
    Get some zip ties and suspend the hose where possible in the trees.
    Out of sight out of mind for the critters.

    Two solutions:
    1. Bury the pipe 6" - 1' below ground.
    2. Try PEX pipe. Its used for residential and is gaining popularity. Its not crazy expensive, only thing is you would need to run multiple parallel lines to get enough water there due to the limited size range of the pipe. This line can be buried very easily as well.

    Hey Bob! If I was closer I would give you some of our firehouse. If you have any wildland fire departments near by, see if they have any cotton jacket house they would let you have to replace that hose.

    I do the same think in the park city Kansas area and PVC pipe works just as good that’s what we use I know it’s expensive but you will never have that problem again it’s field mice that tear the hose up

  • @benmaisel4207
    @benmaisel4207 11 місяців тому

    I know it's more expensive but go with the black pipe line.
    a lot of farmers use it for getting water to their cattle in the southern Black hills of SD.

    The big hole is close to the end of the hose. Take that section and make it the very last piece that flows into the pond. Also consider buying that black plastic drainage pipe and running the hose through it in the sections where critters are making holes.

  • @stevenchristoff2912

    Buy a few sticks of 3” pvc or a roll of drain tile and run the pump hose through it to protect it

  • @brucerudd69
    @brucerudd69 11 місяців тому

    Won’t be cheap but maybe you need to replace the hose with PVC pipe.

  • @MN_outdoors
    @MN_outdoors 11 місяців тому

    Its not super cheap but you could get tile that farmers use for drainage and run the water hoses through it. The tile is plastic and should stop the critters from clawing it too much.

    Barbara hose fittings and then get yourself a roll of 4 inch drain tile And run the hose through that that’s what I had to do works pretty good and then trap the muskrats
