I love the brown/pink colorways and have Teranishi Opera Rose, Brunch Date, and Rouille de Ancre in my collection too. Honestly, my favorite is Brunch Date. It has a similar color to the other two, but the saturation levels make it easier to use in finer nibs and still be legible.
I was just trying to find a dupe for Diamine Cashmere Rose (from the 2023 inkvent calendar) and Teranishi Opera Rose was closest! Both colors are so pretty. Thank you for showing the comparisons!
I do not gravitate toward pinks, but discovering these pinky browns through your content, these are doing something for me. Kyujang-Gak and Brun Sepia are beautiful!
I love Brunch Date. It's one of my very favorite colors but a thing I am finding is everything in the soft rosy brown "Vintage love letter" category doesn't write wet enough for me. White Lightning does help some but I always feel like I'm wrestling with them. That said it looked like the Teranishi didn't give you much trouble, here. I've been stumbling into good deals on that brand lately which is convenient because I'm obsessed with the perfect sheen levels they always manage to get, so I'll probably pick up Opera Rose at some point.

I'm glad you did the Colorverse Brunch Date comparison at the end. I've been wanting to get the Opera Rose but I already have Brunch Date and use it often. Seeing the writing samples for both next to each other has helped me decide to stick with Brunch Date for now. If you do another more pink page, I would highly recommend testing out Wearingual's Twelfth Night - it's an Atlas Stationers exclusive.

thanks for this comparison! I just found you via Time with Tata - funny how someone from Boston brings me to someone in my backyard! I'm trying NOT to get too carried away with fountains pens as I have so many hobbies - but Teranishi Opera Rose and Brun Sepia are now both in my cart!!!! And I promise myself to use my pens more with pretty inks - I'm a fan of water resistant ink as I also watercolor - looking forward to giving Brun Sepia a try in my mixed media journal!
The brun Sepia is now in my Kaweco student pen and I really like it - very light brown, not really pink leaning when it is in a fountain pen.....but it works for me! Unfortunately I just learned of some new pink inks - Oblation Paper's Rose City Rose ink and a discontinued one, Sailor Jentle Peche which I fell in love with looking at samples on line! Ugh - too many pretty pinks! Have not yet decided which pen gets Teranishi Opera Rose....@@lianelikes
I have a bottle of Teranishi Opera Rose and love it. It's actually inked up for January. I love all those colors. I have a few of these. I have been wanting to try the Brun Sepia but haven't been able to yet. The Arima Amber may not look like TOR but wow what a beautiful color.

I have a few of these inks in bottles and samples and would have to agree that they are very comparable to opera rose, which I also have a bottle of 😅 side note...even though it wasn't actually featured in the video, I literally swooned when I saw that bottle of wolfberry!! It's one of the inks I want to get my hands on but most likely never will because of it being limited edition from LTB in 2021. So if anyone reading this has a bottle they are willing to part with I will happily buy it from you!! Anyway, please excuse my side rant. Glad to see this video!!
I don’t have Opera Rose, but I’ve been playing with Kyujang-Gak recently and I, too, was shocked how rosy it is! It’s very similar to Brunch Date in my opinion.
I would suggest Laban Aphrodite Pink as another colour similar to opera rose/brunch date/rouile de ancre (and my personal fav of these). I just picked up Colorverse Kyujang-gak and hadn't realised how similar it was! I am thinking of picking up brun sepia now, that looks really interesting.
I actually really like the Sailor 573! I've been wanting to try the Teranishi colors for a while, but samples are hard to come by, or stores never seem to have the colors I want in stock at the same time. Someday!
Hello Liane! If you like Opera Rose you might also like “Old Rose” from Kuretake (Art Nouveau Series). I have them both and they are both very beautiful. I do also have many other inks from the teranishi line and they are all so beautiful. I like the more romantic mutet appearance of their inks. nostalgic honey and antique black are amongst my favourites. I am awaiting a delivery with labans aphrodite and I am very curious, how they compare. Greetings from Germany! Andrea
